Lol! Mark you can blame me for that, he thought he was writing his thoughts to himself in Afrikaans and with the help of my poor Dutch could translate it and made it public. He does write some good stuff, but can be childish.
lol, I remember, that was funny! I made a comment, in response, that Pieter asked me to edit, so I did! I was referring to many instances, not just the poem that you translated…
So bcc means that no one else can see who you’re ccing? What is it, blind cc? I never knew that.
BCC = Blank Carbon Copy. Yes you can put your own address at the top, then other addresses in the BCC and then you will get your own copy and all others will get their mail, but cant see who or how many copies where sent, and to who… I noticed you edited that post, but I read it before the edit.
That’s good to know, I have friends that send me stuff, I get the email on my iphone and I have to scroll forever to get to the content. I’m gonna have to tell my friends. Thanks! We CAN learn from each other about more than snuff!

Yes I think Alex has a good point. If it is a thread that has been going on for some time and getting out of hand then there is time to discuss. That is unless it gets very bad.
I closed the thread about moderators too. Let’s just leave it aside.
Okay. Pieter is fine with our decisions and thanking us for our work. Everything is fine though. Just to make sure: Moderators (you and me) should only act on emergency with closing discussions. Thanks for the quick reaction time here. Great!
Due to recent developments Snuffbox is no moderator any more. He seemed to be mixing up moderation with censorship, which just doesn’t work. Thanks.
As mods, I believe we should only act in the most pressing emergencies and that means letting things go that we don’t like ourselves. My idea of an emergency would be threatening language or grossly obscene material, text or pictures. In the last year there have been only two occasions when I would have stepped in (I didn’t see the recent one) - when Hydrahead started whispering people telling them to die (I was one) and when Farleyflavours posted a joke about child sex abuse. I intend to leave everything apart from those types of things to Alex as the owner, and head, of this site.
I agree. I’ve said it before, I really plan to go after obvious trolls and personal attacks. I don’t think I would ever close / sink a whole discussion. When things are borderline, maybe we should agree to come to this thread and get agreement from at least one other mod. A “forum quorum” if you will.
I think things will settle down now. I have already said that I’ve never been a moderator before but I think part of our role is to try and reduce disruption, not cause it. Softly softly is definitely the best policy. Until someone steps out of line that is.
