Welcome moderators! (only you can see this)

Ok, let me try this again! This time I’ll copy / paste before I click add. If any mods want to save my email address so it’s available if the site goes down, it’s miamimark@juno.com. Feel free to send me yours if you feel comfortable. I have a few members emails saved in my address book from trades, and it was nice communicating and sharing info when the site was down last week. Back to the subject above: I liked someone’s idea about new members filling out a form before they become a member. Nothing crazy, just a few questions about their snuff use. That might make it more trouble than it’s worth to a troll. Perhaps the info could be passed on to the supporter shops. I wonder if it would be possible to make new members be “sponsored” by a supporter shop. After they make a purchase, they could become members. They could always lurk without becoming members, of course. This is the first forum I’ve EVER been part of, so i’m no expert. I do know a little about sales and marketing. My understanding is that the sponsor shops basically pay for this site to exist. Anything we can do to help them is good and could entice more sponsor shops to join. IMHO of course…

I wouldn’t condition membership on buying anything but the idea of sponsorship does have a lot of merit if the board gets very big. Then we could say you have to have 1 or 2 guys sponsor you, so only known good guys sign up. I think this is far in the future though. Sponsoring by shops is a double-edged sword. You don’t want to give up control of the board or start letting the sponsors control things. The idea is that *they* are the ones benefitting by sponsoring the board, because guys who come here buy their products. This is not the same as their customers coming to this board. Alex already has my email, the rest of the mods can feel free to contact me through dogman@isonews2.com. BTW since we already know Alex and Nigel’s names and I assume miamimark is Mark, my name is Israel and I live in Israel in the mountains. I would appreciate if everyone would continue calling me snuffbox on this site though. Now we have to figure out who MidnightMoses is

Hi fellas. I feel like a bit of a light weight here as I know little about the internet (before the recent incursion I hadn’t even heard of a troll except in the fairytale sense,) and and this is also my first forum. But I am on here a lot. I’m a big lurker and I will be on this site for several hours a day on and off. My email address is 1966.martin@googlemail.com for when you need me. I check my mail several times a day so you’ll be sure to get me that way. As I said before I’m glad to be aboard and I am honoured to be able to play a greater part in something I find very special.

Using myself as an example, no one knew me on this forum when I became a member. I had made a Toque order and Roderick suggested I check the forum out. I see you edited, snuffbox! I was going to put you in my address book as snuffbox! And yes, my name is Mark and I live in the Miami, Fl. area.

By the way, my name is Martin and I live in south east London. Can I be an ISTA member now? Only joking.

nigel.mccarren@yahoo.co.uk (East London) I think we have a good group here, happy to be part of it.

Alex, 0049-178-2667788, mail@alex.aero (if Snuffhouse.org is down), Hamburg, Germany. See the contact tab for more information.

Hi Alex and fellow mods, thanks for your trust in me, I’ll do my best to keep this forum clean. I’ve just found the link to become a member. As my other love is Formula 1 racing I must come back after the qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix to digest all this page and more. Regards from John (Snuff Head)

Welcome John. Another excellent choice!

I just changed the membership approval procedure to manual. Moreover I decreased the number of possible posts in a certain time span. This makes it a lot harder to spam.

New members from now on have to give reason why they want to join (view registration form).

Good idea.

uhhh… I’m being put under a spam block! Maybe you should remove the time posting limit as long as you are verifying new members, Alex? This is very annoying!

It has always been in place. I only handled it more strictly yesterday. I adjusted it again. You should be able to post faster now.

I’ve now took in the contents of this thread and notice you have all been giving contact details. Well I’m John and live in Hull, East Yorkshire UK. The bast email address to reach me on is :- snuff_head@yahoo.co.uk Regards all. John

Thanks, Alex

Hi all, I closed/sunk the “Today’s funnies” thread. It’s just a bunch of juvenile sex jokes, has nothing to do with snuff, and doesn’t bring out the best of this forum. I have tried to make several friendly hints but certain members seem to have a difficult time controlling themselves. We didn’t have these kinds of posts a few months ago and they’re becoming more common. It seems we all agree with keeping the forum good clean fun and on-topic.

It looks like it was re-opened. Edit: It wasn’t reopened, just a new one was started. (I think!)

Well it looks like a new thread with same title opened by Pieter Claassen. Never give him your e mail address by the way, I did and now all his mail goes in my spam box. He send out stupid jokes and sends in batch and never uses the BCC so all addresses are in view, It’s no coincidence that I get begging letters from S Africa.

Thanks for the tip. I think he contributes a lot of good but I thought his “I love Debbie” comments where a little on the creepy side. I guess they don’t bother her so that’s all that matters.
