On another board I belong to, They have a “Soapbox” forum. It is where anybody can go to bitch, whine cry, or wax politics in it’s very own hermetic space. This keeps people who are easily offended out of the crossfire. For those who enjoy a little sparring, they can go in there, duke it out, and leave it in there. Being we have a common hobby of snuff, inevitably the topics will occasionally turn to politics, being our favored product will always be demonized by non-users and law makers.
Its easy to talk about politics and be non offensive. Just stick to facts and avoid inserting opinions (particularly inflamatory ones) and emotions.
Why do we need that? It only ever ends up in verbal violence because people can’t talk religion and politics and stay calm. This is such a good site because 99.9% of the time it is friendly and we don’t do politics - there’s a massive net out there where you can get all the bitching you want, 24/7. I get the point about a sealed place but it would in some shape or form ending spilling onto the threads. Sorry but its not going to happen, apart from any views the mods may have Alex doesn’t want it.
Yeah, there must be thousands of political forums, why ruin this one?

sadly that is part of my religion so I can’t talk about it.
I read about politics when I want to get pissed off. I read about snuff to relax.

ya’ll are missing the point Those topics WILL be discussed. It is inevitable, So why not quarantine them. the mods get torqued at these discussion in the snuff related threads. So put it over there, how many times have we discussed PACT? Seems to me we shouldn’y discuss PACT ever again then. Look, I was trying to offer up a solution to the B.S. that occurs in a generally pleasant environment. Xander has it right, however their are belligerent people out there who cannot refrain from becoming inflammatory(those people tend to not have substance in their arguments anyway). Just trying to help and keep some peace. sorry for the idea. carry on.
Never talk about religion, politics or sports with friends 
Snuffrider, don’t apologise - it wasn’t a bad idea, in fact it was a good one - just not one that the members here want. This site is a small oasis in everyone’s routine where we get away from lifes BS, as I said you can get anything you want from the rest of the net. The thing is that even if we did have a cordoned off area where you could say what you want the belligerant would carry on with their anger across other threads and it would be an absolute heaven for trolls. Over the years a lot of people have said this is one of the nicest places to be on the net; thats not just the demographic.
This seems to be the only place I visit that doesn’t have a political banter attached to it. I want it to stay that way.
Serious roder is right. Snuffrider I don’t think you’re idea will work but you’re still doing more then most to try and improve the site. Plus you know good ideas rarely come from one person, most great ideas come from a multiple people throwing out part of the puzzle. And in my opinion just because an idea doesn’t work doesn’t make it a bad or stupid idea. Or more accuratly just because I don’t think an idea will work doesn’t make it bad.
We had a “bitching” thread, that one lasted a few days.
