Heads UP! New USA Nasal Snuff Maker Forming

@zonewsix: I’m so glad you liked it. The questionnaire was attached to my last email It’s called “snuff survey.rtf” I also find it very easy to take. I imagine our European friends will like it for that reason. I’ve heard schmalzer lovers go through prodigious quantities of that product. Perhaps some of our German members would like samples next time around. Hard to say exactly what a pound would go for at retail. At first our production will be relatively small, with many tasks performed by hand. With some automation, economies of scale will accrue and the the per-unit cost will drop significantly. At that point pounds should be obtainable at a competitive rate with other snuffs on the market. For starters, I’d like to offer 25g and 50g weights in food-grade plastic tubs. These have air-tight lids that snap into place. Could probably go through a cold-wash without popping open. I do appreciate all the comment and reviews to date. I still have a few minor qualms with this snuff, but I think I can sort it out once I get set up again in San Diego.

Oh, for some reason I thought the samples were limited to the U.S. Of course I´d be delighted to try your creation. Mail´s underway.

Im getting some, I hope, and Im german although I live in Switzerland

Yeah, I would bet schmalzler lovers would dig this quite a bit. I’ll get the survey done in a bit. Flavors that I think would work with this as a base: Hazelnut coffee. Vanilla. Tiramisu. I mentholated a bit this morning and it was quite pleasing. If you could make this with a VERY faint menthol/camphor I think you’d have some fans.

So today I received an envelope with no return address that contained a baggy full of a dark powder. No note…no nothing. Needless to say, my woman was freaking out. HA. I didn’t even know I had one of these coming. I have yet to try the snuff, but I would like to say that you to stitch for such a nice sized sample. I will give my review after I have tried the product. Thanks again. ~Ken

@zone six: Those are good flavor choices for this base. I was thinking I might try to make a spiced rum snuff out of it. Call it Pirate’s Pinch or some such. Eh…matey!

Yarrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I really almost like it a lot the way it is. Some minor tweaks and perfection. I’ll give more details after a more extensive investigation.

More news! We are salivating over some huge spaces that can accommodate all phases of business operations, plus some new ones. With the recession, a lot of commercial property is now available. Eric’s existing business is a hookah lounge called The Odyssey featuring the Tangiers brand tobacco he manufactures. The lounge serves hookahs and conducts retail tobacco sales. They also sell - at very reasonable prices - hookahs and charcoals on a carry out basis. He does not ship to retail customers. He does not undercut his distributors, by selling at at a steep discount directly to customers. This policy will extend to any and all products we develop. Eric engineered and produces the revolutionary “phunnel” bowl that is truly superior to other hookah bowls. Actually a local ceramic studio makes them under contract. I am looking into the feasibility of producing a netti pot with them in glazed ceramic medium. All this is just a bit of background. The top-secret snuffworks will occupy a walled-off section of the space with operations common to both product lines to take place in a common area. We wish to move into our new place in January 2010. The Odyssey Lounge will be located up front and will include the first “bricks and mortar” snuff shop in North America. We will stock our own snuffs as well as some other favorites. We see a “snuff bar” evolving where patrons can stock up on snuffs and accessories - boxes, hankies, etc as well as sampling from a constantly changing buffet of snuffs for “happy hour.” Sorry, but we can’t serve alcoholic beverages initially. We are keen to be the first to establish a dedicated snuff bar in the US, maybe anywhere. We project that the first commercially available snuff will be available to distributors in about six months. Thank you for your interest and a happy holiday season to everyone.

can’t wait! hopefully I’ll get to see it with my own eyes.

Nice, Stitch! I knew you were up to something big!

Stitch, Is this in San Diego?

Yes it is! The new place, if all goes well, will be on Mission Gorge Rd. The Odyssey is currently on the 5700 block of El Cajon Blvd, a couple miles from SDSU. Let’s meet up there sometime!

I’m just now starting to appreciate how unique your snuff bar and manufacturing operation are here in the states. Gives me a reason to see San Diego again!

America needs a quality Toast marketed in supermarkets throughout the South along with the abundant selections of Scotch snuffs. The 4.65 tins would be fine. Because of it’s characteristics shared with Scotch, it would likely be accepted as “normal”. And, most importantly, I would no longer have to pay shipping. I could live quite contentedly with nothing more exotic than Scotch and Toast. High nicotine content would, of course, be appreciated.

@elganso Nah, they need to be marketed along the westcoast first…

Wow Stitch, that is awesome. I’m a big fan of Tangiers tobacco, great flavors. I think you will be making some awesome snuffs!

@ODT Come on, you guys got all the good stuff out there. All we got is peaches; let us have some good snuff for God’s sake. Anyway, the tobacco NAZI’s got us too and we love our tobacco; whisky too but that’s another subject altogether.

There’s enough scotches, we finally need a real nasal snuff.

@elganso The good stuff? Unh… Oh yeah, the good stuff  hehe True that but really, the number of stores I’ve found that carry snuff round my neck o’ the woods = zero. As is I have to order anything and everything. Hells bells, the headshops have a huge variety of the legal herbs but not even a decent snuff box or vial.
