@Pieter: Have you bought seeds yet? If so, what kinds?
Stich, congratulations and good luck from a newbie! BTW, my email to you was sent back, no such email address? I would love to be one of your testers, and I reside right here in sunny San Diego!

Thats great news Stitch. Glad to hear this.
Great news Stitch, I really hope it works out. I would love to see the Thai snuff samples you sent to me (reviews on the review site) Also, I would love to see a plain, genuine HDT type snuff and an HDT with a merest hint of camphor or menthol. What I respectfully hope you don’t do is anything like the Dholakia range of candy snuffs. Make snuff for snuffers Stitch, lets have some potent stuff for us old boys with some traditional mixed with your own exotic brands. Can’t wait for a sample! Best wishes Nigel
Snuffster, I’m not sure why you continue to openly bash the Dholakia snuffs. If you don’t like them, don’t use them.
I’d second another snuff with camphor, I really seem to like that scent, with or without menthol.
Cstokes - I’m not sure where you are coming from with that comment. This is an open forum with views expressed freely, unless something is hateful, racist or offensive any comment goes - its called free speech. I don’t know how many of my posts you’ve read, or my reviews, but in actual fact I love Dholakia snuffs and have posted several reviews on the review site giving many of their snuffs high praise. In actual fact I was given a six months supply of Dholakia and a snuff bullet from Namrata for one particular snuff review. If you were to read everyhting I’ve ever read about Dholakia you would see that I have a perfectly balanced view of them and indeed I think that Dholkia is an important and absoluteley first rate producer - one of the most exciting things to hit the western snuff world in years. Also, as I’ve said many times, Dholkia snuffs often figure in my daily rotations, particularly sparrow cool and Kamal. However, at the end of the day I’m just an ordinary Joe consumer and can and will say what I like about any product I use; some of their snuffs I don’t like and I don’t really see why that should bother anyone. Best Wishes Snuffster

Hello all and thanks again for all the kind encouragement. I have some good news. I was able to get a decent enough result with a non-fermented process. I have used it all day for two days and I think it’s ready for a pass around. There are a few extra packets if you haven’t got on the sample list there still may be time…and I will make more when I get back to San Diego, but that date is indefinite as I have a lot of details to take care of here before I clear out for good. Looking forward to hearing you opinions.
Well, look forward to seeing it. I’ll be eagerly checking my mail box for the next few days. Let you know how I like it.
In the mail today was an envelope with a small baggie containing a dark brown almost black powdery substance with a post mark from Phoenix, AZ. A very generous sample of Stitch’s new snuff I presumed. I opened the baggie and took a good sniff, and my first thought was prunes? So I dumped a bit on the back of my hand, it’s very dry and granular, and hit both nostrils with a generous amount of snuff. Mmmm…very easy to take, very slight burn with kind of a toasted scent. At first I thought chocolate, but I remembered doing some chocolate not so long ago so I cleared my nose, dumped the baggie into a snuff box and tried again. Not chocolate this time, but a very natural scent of tobacco, with and underlying toasty scent I can’t make out. Mild nic hit, with a scent I’ve never experienced before. I find it very enjoyable and I have to say, I’ve never had anything quite like it before. I’m gonna sit with this for a day and and see if my opinion changes any. Good job, Stitch!
Got mine today. First impression is, that this is the closest thing to a pipe tobacco that I have had to date. Very nice. Let me spend some time with it before I say more.
There are a few packets left and a larger batch coming in maybe a month - once I’ve relocated to San Diego. Still looking for more testers for future distributions. It’s free but please be willing to complete a 3 minute e-questionnaire. Those who complete their questionnaire are automatically entered for the next distribution. You may of course opt out at any time. My samples are about 2.5 grams, enough for a couple good sessions at least. To participate, email your postal address to me, aztopstitcher@gmail.com - with “snuff sample” in the subject line. Please Include your screen name here. It will help me keep track of everyone better. Many thanks for your help! Stitch PS I am also very much interested in hearing your personal impressions - good or bad - here on snuffhouse.
Hey stitch I haven’t received an e-questionnaire. I want to make sure I get one. I’d be glad to fill it out for you.
@Snifs; Still working on the final language.I will probably send them out Tuesday to give everyone a chance to receive and try out the snuff first. I appreciate your participation.
All the extra sample packets of the first edition snuff base are now spoken for. . Don’t despair if you missed out; a second edition is coming and you can get on the list anytime, but it’s first-come, first served. I have some ideas for improving it, but i don’t want to influence anyone at this point, so I’ll have to keep mum on that. Thanks to all who responded. I look forward to hearing your comments. stitch
I’m excited to try this. Filling out an e-questionnaire would be very easy for all of us here and great for standardizing the reviews. I’d be curious to hear about the trends, but then again the end product will reflect that anyhow.
A 3 minute questionnaire for some snuff?.. Only if it were all like this!
Haven’t seen the questionnaire yet. I saw you suggested there might be one today, so I’ll check back. My initial thoughts: I feel like I have smoked this in my pipe before. Not in that exact way, but a very familiar, comforting scent. INSANELY easy to take. I think I just snuffed half the bag in one go. Very coarse grind, but not terribly dry. Bearing in mind I’m still relatively new to snuff, but already have a lot of experience with fine sneezy toasts and chunky wet schmalzlers and de kralingse blends, I’d say this has a lot of potential for beginners and seasoned noses alike. Definitely agree with prunes and chocolate, and would like to see those brought out in other flavors. I’m liking this. How much for a pound?
