ive only found one that i really dislike and thats the rum and blackberry, the spās i find very similar whatever the name and generally just use the best sp these days. for a long while i had half pound drums of three of their spās on rotation and usually couldnāt detect much difference. ive read more than once - and one occasion someone on another site claiming to have inside knowledge - that queens and tom are the same product, period. hard to prove that as only two members of the wilson family at a time know the flavouring secrets apparently.
I donāt like the Wisons Apricot i have because it has absolutely no apricot scent what so ever but perhaps mine is just a bad tin
I never understood why people say that TB and Queenās are the same? To me they are definitely not. TB is very heavy on the bergamot and has a much darker color than Queens. Queens I think, is almost exactly like SP but stronger on the flavor and the nicotine.
I always thought they were very different too. I reckon Queens might be a finer ground TB, they seem to smell very similar in the tin but completely different in the nose.
maybe its a snuff urban myth? i cant remember personally as queens is one of theirs ive not used
The Wilsons Apricot is definitely amazing if you get a good tin. I had an old tin and it was even amazing. Keep at it, Big Al. Some of these take a bit of time to grow on you.
I have many I like but my top Wilsons are S.M. 500, Honey Menthol, Peppermint, Aniseed Extra, S.M. Blue. I would like to try Prime Minister since Crumbs is too sweet for me.
@ Snuffbox - seriously the Apricot i have has no scent or flavour at all, nothing, nada, zilch. Very sad really as i love apricot snuff and its put me off trying another Wilsons Apricot
Wow thatās difficult to understand. I guess the guys will have to point you to a stronger apricot.
Get the Grand Cairo, I donāt think you will regret it. My other Wilsons favorites are Jockey Club, SP Best, Best Dark, and Honey Menthol.
Crumbs of comfort , Royal George and Jockey Club
Tom Buck v Queens Extra Strong Queens Extra Strong (formerly Queens) is now identical with Tom Buck and has been since the name change. The same mixture is simply added to tins with different labels. Wilsons could not decide which of these two very long established names to delete from their list and therefore kept them both. No inside knowledge is required to appreciate this fact. If in doubt then contact Wilsons themselves from their web-site for confirmation and you will be told exactly what you read here.
I thought queens was a finer grind. Is that not true???
Tom Buck and Queens have, for several centuries, always been associated with S.P. That the names differ suggests to the user that there must be a subtle difference. However, they are identical in all respects save the name.

Sometimes with snuff Iāll find Iāve gotten a few tins that are drasticly diffrent then what Iāam used to. I got one tin of tom where the grind was much finer (still coarse for a sharrow snuff) and slightly lighter. The flavour was definatly effected. Must try queens.
