What is the nasal snuff with the lowest nicotine content?

Thanks all this is very helpful. @Mouse those three Thai snuffs, the red and purple say they have tobacco and the yellow not? Are they fruity as in smell of real fruit or flowery-fruity or something? I never heard of Thai snuff! @TomStrasbourg, I *love* Best Dark and I get a strong buzz from it and can’t take too much! I guess I am super-sensitive. What’s in Best Dark anyway? I find it very earthy (yum) with a strong and complex set of scents over the top I find harder to identify than usually. Best guesses? @Xander which potpourri scents? They may be a bit too flowery for me… @BigNose yes I do find WoS easier to take than my beloved Taxi Blue and Bernards! Last night was all about McChrystal’s Stammheimer Hopfen and that went down fine (in much smaller than pea quantities!) and *gosh* did I enjoy it.

@polly, there is conflicting information about these. Mistersnuff sells the purple and yellow as tobacco-free on the club snuff website. I’ve tried to get the folks at the local Thai restaurant to translate the ingredients listed on the bottles but they don’t have enough English to do it, it seems. They smell like tropical fruits to me.

@polly the Dholakia herbal blend is very pleasant, hard to really define scent. complex and relaxing, but does have just a little menthol that is there but not in your face… Luck!!

@polly Best Dark is scented with bergamot. Bergamot is a citrus fruit also used in the making of Earl Grey tea.

@Polly they do have some flowers in them, but they’re really not as floral as floral snuffs http://www.snuifmolenswebshop.nl/Webwinkel-Category-506014/Tobacco-Free-Snuff.html

Thanks for all your responses! @TomStrasbourg that’s interesting, I didn’t guess it was Bergamot. I’m a huge fan of SP’s and have lots - why does Best Dark smell so different? I’m sure it’s a different kind of base tobacco, but is that all?

@polly a lot of SPs use other scents alongside bergamot. Best SP has rose and Tom Buck features lavender with the rose. I think Best Dark’s base tobacco probably has a good deal more to do with the difference. Plus the bergamot isn’t as prevalent as it is in most SPs.

Very interesting @TomStrasbourg thanks. You obviously have a fine nose I’d be fascinated to know about different SP components! I’ll post a new discussion to not pollute this one about SP, hoping you can find it and reply!

@polly I’ve got a nose that is somewhat trained over the years. Plus I’ve learned a lot from this forum.

try small pinches. I remember my first 10g tin. It took 17 days to empty.

If I tried small pinches, they would get lost

@Polly in regards to the name dark, it seems to me anything I’ve had with dark in the name tends to be from dark toasted tobacco. There is a campfire smell in Lavender Dark ( I think you’d like this as it has a “phenolic” profile mixed with a very unique Lavender component, don’t buy the tap box!) and Viking Dark is similar to Lavender Dark, but without the lavender. I really like the dark snuffs, they also seem to have a coarser grind and higher moisture content.

Yes I would say the dark rappee like snuffs from SG have a low nicotine content. From what I understand the long fermentation of SG black rappee make for a low nicotine level, or at least it seems low to me. Also the grind is coarse so the nicotine is released more slowly

That’s really funny @tboyer, SG snuffs like KB hit me pretty hard at times. It’s a different hit though, more like the buzz you get from snus or moist snuff than the kick you get from a finer, lighter snuff. Also those heavily fermented snuffs always give me very odd dreams which I enjoy thoroughly. A lot of the F&T snuffs aren’t powerhouses in the nicotine department. Santo Domingo is a work of art but I don’t recall it being too strong.

I agree completely
