I read that the Dholakia White snuff is the most powerful snuff ever made… What about American Scotches ?
Rooster put me on my ass first time I tried it, great stuff but I find scotches a little difficult to take enjoyably. Don’t quite have my technique nailed yet. Toasts and white’s don’t give me the same problem. Strange… But I would suggest for an easy to take high nic snuff then Viking dark is well worth a try. It’s course, moist, messy and is liable to turn you into a grotty brown snot monster but you’ll soon find yourself lying there wondering how your first cig as a Teenager didn’t kick your ass quote like this!
@Eraserhead78 LOL I can imagine that I already have difficulty taking Toque snuff and trying every day to perfect my technique so it can be enjoyable journey… I want to try Rooster when I can control my pinch so I can enjoy this Nic buzz as I have big tolerance to Nic that’s why I am searching for powerful snuff…
@kougy I have a pretty high tolerance too, still not knocked off the smokes although smoking a lot less. Saying that I have found some snuffs are far more noticeable in nicotine than in cigarettes. I smoke out of habit but rarely If ever would I smoke so heavily I’d feel any kind of nicotine ‘rush’. Since discovering snuff I’ve given myself the nic jitters more times than I can remember. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much about the technique, it is far more likely to just fall into place on its own without over thinking it too much. I found technique varies hugely between different types of snuff anyway so just jump in and try what sounds good to you.
Viking Brown has a satisfying nic content as well, and I find it has more depth and personality than Dark. Great barnyard notes followed by subarachnoid brain hemmoraghing
@Eraserhead78 I quit smoking 13 months ago without using anything but a serious decision after 15 years of more than 2 packs a day smoking and I discovered nasal snuff 4 months ago and I was very amused by the idea and after I tried it the 1st time I knew it will be a really life long hobby specially after I read the health reports about it… my advice is stop using any burning tobacco whatsoever and go for nasal snuff, I think you can never feel bored because of the hundreds of snuff kinds out there…
@cakeanddottle I heard about it and I think it will be in my next order with Rooster and Navy Sweet…
I don’t ever crave nicotine anymore, I just crave a pinch. When I feel the need, I take out my trusty turn tin and tap some on the back of my hand. The following sensation brings me to equilibrium and completely at ease and focus. I never select a snuff for its nicotine potentcy, but instead all of the great effects from a nice pinch. Poschl, GH, SG, or Dragun; it does not matter.
@Vito445 I have a Nicotine tolerance and I don’t even feel any Nicotine buzz from Toque quite that’s why I am curious about trying the powerful kinds of snuff I hear and read about so I can feel what this “Nicotine Buzz” is
But maybe after a while my choices will be different and will be towards better flavors and quality not Nicotine content.
My vote would have to go to Viking Dark. The grind and mositure make it easy to cram way to much up your nose, and its probably has the strongest inital nicotine punch of any i have encountered.
@Pot Poe Even more than Dholakia white ?
Viking Dark has noticeably more nic than the average English snuff but is no where near as potent as the whites or scotches.
@n9inchnails So FUBAR Grunt is more potent ?
@kougy - Grunt has a good nic content, although nothing spectacular, I would rate it just above average, but it is a wonderful snuff for me, gets the job done and is a great tobacco flavor. Remember Grunt uses the same tobacco as in the Sparrow, you already have that one, and Dholokia uses the same base in a lot of it’s snuffs, the WOW brand too. The high Nic marketing of Fubar is more hype than anything else.
Dragun, White, and Elephant, and Cheeta would be higher. No snuff has been a complete replacement for my nicotine needs, I use snus for that. Dragun would be the easiest on the nose. And total nicotine uptake is the key, just use more of it until you get a fix. Always try to keep your nicotine needs low though, chasing a nicotine buzz is a fleeting ability.
I have never had a strong enough snuff, although the Rustica comes so close, but it tends to have a nasty drip. Home made snuff from Thuc Lao was pretty damn good and strong. High nicotine snuff tends to burn and be unpleasant.
“I hear and read about so I can feel what this “Nicotine Buzz” is”
It is fleeting and impossible to maintain!
My advice is to just enjoy the simple side of snuff.
Or smoke a cigar and inhale. That’s a Nicotine Buzz. Cheap thrill.
@Whalen Thanks a lot for the advice and the beautiful REVIEW, maybe it’s better to enjoy the different flavors and the mood stabilizing effect of the different kinds of snuff than chasing the Nicotine buzz… just I was curious when I read about that because my tolerance to nicotine is extremely high after 15 years of heavy smoking so I would never feel this buzz anyways and as you said it’s better to enjoy the simple side of the snuff…thanks again
@Whalen “just use more of it until you get a fix”…that’s what I do already with the different Toque flavors I have and I think I must not think anymore about the nicotine content rather than thinking about the flavor and quality of the snuff because at the end I can use more if I need too.
Whites and Scotches are probably more powerfull, but they are unforgiving and hard to master. Viking Dark is simple to take and thus easy to take a lot. And all in all, i find it delivers a faster inital blast of nicotine, something we smokers always will crave. It is the only snuff that has made me whooozey and yes, i have done lines of whites.
@Pot Poe It seems that I must try Viking Dark from your review it would be easy for me as beginner…Thank you for the advice
For me it’s provably NTSU Black ,Neffa Ifrikia is good too.
@gandalf I saw a review about NTSU Black on youtube and it seems pretty potent kinda snuff.
Taxi red. I use as a mixer; to bring less nicotine scented, up to snuff . My fav to mix with would be Dholakia Swiss chocolate. These are great alone and combined.
@basement_shaman Sounds like a tasty mixture :)
yes@ kougy the whole Idea is to enjoy
@basement_shaman Indeed…the order I wait for includes Dholakia Swiss Chocolate so I must include Taxi red in my next order so I can try this mixture…experimenting with snuff is so exciting every time
@kougy some my say it sacrilegious but I just yesterday mixed dholakia white with viking dark ,with a touch of Samuel Gawith dark pepermint SG apricot and SG raspberry .And it is delish
I hope you know that the more you use snuff the more you become acustomed to it and the more nic hit you will get
@basement_shaman From what I read, mixing Dholakia White with Viking Dark is like suicide
@Vito445 I hope I can feel that sometimes because I have high tolerance to Nicotine from previous heavy smoking long period…but I fell in love with this exciting hobby and I wanna collect as much different kinds of snuff as I can… keeping a nice mood all the time is not easy
@ kougy the more you try the more you’ll buy,The more I buy the better I feel.and consuming snuff is my deal. I will snuff here or there I will snuff everywhere. The next time I will mix with viking spear and have no fear. What a way to go snuff snuff and away.
@basement_shaman LOL it seems that your mixture is working
@kougy : yes it’s a good potent snuff, but,it have another particularity : NTSU smell strong ammonia.
Personally I don’t care but it could be a problem.Like for Taxi you can aerate but on Ntsu, ammonia is an element of spirit.
@gandalf That’s a valuable information to know…Thanks a lot.
Nicotine replacement, cigarettes to snuff, pinch per drag, won’t ever happen with any kind of ‘strong’ snuff because there are limits to how much nicotine can be assimilated in a pinch, the way to use it if you are looking to replicate the amount of nic in your bloodstream is to use it consistently throughout the day - a gradual topping up process - then it is very effective.
The ‘nicotine buzz’ is felt by people with a lesser tolerance, I could swim in Dholakia White and not feel it - but what I do get is a sustained nicotine level that keeps me off smoking.
@Snuffster I agree totally with your point of view and I feel exactly the same due to high nicotine tolerance, so I just keep snuffing until I get a fix and I forgot about chasing this “nicotine buzz” I read about and I begin to enjoy the snuff as a flavor and quality.
Feel and surf the N wave is a real art,It’s not always given without accélération and pauses at the good time I think
What he said. Exactly.
@gandalf and @Snuffster I really don’t quite follow you… you mean that the way snuff is taken and the time interval are the variables influencing enjoying snuff and getting the right Nicotine fix ?
@kougy not sure if this has been mentioned as I haven’t read all the posts, but I have had a buzz in the past from just taking too much. Even Toque will do this. Try a half gram in each nostril. That would do it.
To be honest though if you are just using snuff I’ve found as you continue to use it your body adapts to requiring less nic. Smoking is very scheduled, snuff just happens.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1507093/pdf/bmjcred00678-0014.pdf
This study indicates that the more experienced snuff user will absorb more nicotine.
Bad typing from staying up too late, just what I said earlier - topping up the whole time, throughout the day is the way to get the full benefit from snuff.
@thorgrimnr I must be like Thor or one of the Fantastic Four to be able to try a half gram of snuff in each nostril
@Juxtaposer I read it thanks and it is logic!
@Snuffster So how many pinches you take per day? Time interval ? I mean average of course.
It really all depends if you want a nicotine buzz (lasting a few minutes) or a nicotine hit (a quick blast). Dholakia White has no more nicotine than the average snuff, but is pulverized to such a fine grind that the absorption is so immediate that it feels like smoke from a cigarette. American Scotches are also pretty fine but not quite as much, but the “hit” is there. On the other end of the spectrum is Taxi and Ntsu. These are extremely coarse ground and you can literally shovel loads of this into your nose so as to create a slow but prolonged release of nicotine, hence the “buzz”. Some of the English darks come close to these but not quite. At the end of the day its probably better to just take Snuffter’s advice (frequent pinches of whatever is best for you) and not worry about chasing dragons. You do know they are imaginary creatures, yes?
@Xander Haha ya I do know that and so is Santa Claus my first order from Mrsnuff included: FUBAR Grunt, Dholakia Sparrow Cool, Dholakia Swiss Chocolate and 6 Photo Natural…What do you think about these kinds?
Sparrow is along the lines of scotches and toasts - a good blast but need replensihng sooner. Swiss Chocolate, i don’t care for, but not high nic in either dept. Grunt is ok, a good plain snuff with a sharper than average “hit” but not as sharp as above. It is sharper than most standard English grinds though. 6 Photo I have not tred any. In any case you will soon see that there are many combinations of texture and moistening agent that have profound effect on snuff, and how it affects you. Experimention is part of the fun.
@Xander Thanks a lot for your review and I agree that I must experiment a lot to have more fun… the big diversity in snuff kinds and makes is really interesting and make you curious all the time to try new things… I don’t think you can feel bored from such a hobby.
The best advice I can give you kougy, is forget about the nicotine. Enjoy the snuff! It’s that simple.
You are new to snuff, and you have been kindly advised by some of the most knowledgeable snuffers there are, and I do not include myself in that group. But to a man I am sure they would agree, just enjoy it and develope your own methods, preferences, and favorites. You can occasionally touch the Dragon, but you cannot keep him.
@Whalen Thanks a lot for the advice… I begin to understand the simple idea of snuffing and it must not be complicated… just a simple joy of life, but sure if I can touch the Dragon I won’t regret it
@kougy - re pinches, I am a heavy snuff user and was a two packs a day smoker, so my average might be higher than some, but I suppose three or four hefty pinches an hour when I am going full tilt. A pinch being (for me) something the size of a pea per nostril. Sometimes a double pinch per nostril. I’m not quite so rabid all the time, and I have days where that goes right down - pretty much like smoking.
@Snuffster I think I pinch with the same rate as yours…until I feel satisfied
I also use it at all the old smoking trigger points - I’ve only recently noticed how extensively I do that, which shows I have become completely re-wired to snuff. I have used snuff for along while - most of that time as a smoker and I switched to full time snuff when the bans started coming in - but it’s only recently that I have understood how completely it has replaced smoking, not just as nic replacement but mentally as well.
I put my personal stop-smoking success down to a very simple thing that Prof Phillips Griffiths once wrote about taking large pinches and that they are less irritating than small ones. I have snuffed for well over 30 years but it was only when I read that, and started doing it, that I sensed how much snuff can do for you. I really think that a lot of users only ever learn to tolerate snuff, not get the full potential from using large pinches consistently.
@Snuffster I tried to use large pinches from Toque Quit, Natural and I got a very bad throat hit…so I shifted to very small pinches many times… I always get throat hit…until now I did not succeed to stop that.
@Kougy : you understand what I wanted to say.
But this phenomena comes when you snuff enough.Anyway when you touch snuff time managementis for me an important element of feelings offers.
@gandalf I am trying to see now what is the time interval I need between every pinch and how many small pinches get me to a fix every time.
I’m not sure that regularity is the best way.You can notice too more you’re already in good mood ,more the effects should be interesting.
@kougy You only get snuff in the throat or, worse, lungs, by inhaling too deeply. The insufflation should be sharp but shallow - you can do it more than once remember; if you are holding a pinch you can take it over a couple of those inhalations. It’s trial and error but nothing more than learning the pressure of the inhalation and the co-ordination of the the release.
I’ve just taken a large pinch. I took half in the right nostril - the top most part of the amount of powder in one sniff - then the left nostril I very slightly rolled the the snuff upwards, because I was taking the bottom part, whilst taking a slightly longer inhalation to account for the added distance that the rest of the pinch had to travel.
It sounds insane describing it so minutely of course, and at the end of the day you do what suits you, but for me that is the only way to do it. The only superior method to the pinch, of course ‘inmho’, is to use a snuff spoon that holds a good sized pinch - the fact of it all hitting the mucosa at one time is the reason why a large pinch burns less to a beginner - there is a capsule effect.
@Snuffster I am trying the way you described with Toque Quit and I take sharp sniff but until this minute I get it in my throat…before that I tried to take a sniff very slowly like breathing or smelling a flower with rubbing my fingers to expose the powder but I get it in my throat too :(
@gandalf Actually I feel bad because I can not smell all the Toque flavors I have, only the Menthol because it is too powerful, but Blueberry, Espresso, Chocolate, Spanish Gem, even Natural and Quit… sometimes I just smell them when I open the tin…
@kougy Imagine walking into a kitchen where something good is cooking, think how you inhale and go ‘aaah’. Well, cut that inhalation down to one that lasts for one second - sharp enough for a distinct parcel of snuff to lift off from the pad, shallow enough top stop it going past your nose.
There will be eureka moment if you carry on. And, really, whatever anyone else says - this is the only way to take snuff:)
@Snuffster I will work on that right away I hope I can get there
The strongest ones I take are, Taxi, NTSU and Viking Dark.
So which is stronger? Scotches or indian whites?
@Snuffsniffer I heard they are pretty strong indeed, enjoy
@Harlequin From what I read there is nothing like Dholakia White.
There is no snuff, to my knowledge, that displays the nicotine content in the same way as cigarettes and my feeling is that they are probably all quite close in strength. Very fine snuffs are efficient nicotine delivery systems due to the increased surface area. Couple this with the burn that a fine snuff gives and you have what appears to be a very strong snuff. I do wonder if there is actually a great deal between many of them, mil per mil. Of course, snuffs like Dholkia White are genuinely strong but tobacco is an odd thing. There are a couple of UK RYO tobaccos - Golden Virginia and Old Holborn, and most people think OH is a lot stronger, but I read recently that GV is the most potent of the two. OH just smokes strong it seems. Impossible to prove until mandatory nicotine levels get introduced, God forbid.
@Snuffster Well until now I can not really see a difference between different snuffs but maybe after I try many kinds from different manufacturers, I think I can have a solid opinion about that… of course cigarettes are sure faster way to deliver Nicotine and also a sure way to kill yourself slowly… Thanks God I quit those cancer sticks finally.
Fermentation lowers the nicotine level in tobacco. If you are looking for a strong nic hit you could always grind up some Dhoka, though I doubt it would be all that pleasant.
@Mouse What is Dhoka ?
I would recommend Viking Dark, it’s my goto snuff, it’s also good for boosting and thinning strongly scented snuffs.
@SnuffSniffer I read about it too and yes I think it will be on my next order with Dragun.
@kougy–sorry, I didn’t spell it correctly, it should be dokha. I find it very strong. Here’s a wiki article about it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dokha
I buy it from a US importer, Medwakh.com
When I was growing rustica tobaccos I made the mistake, once, of smoking some before it had been cured and it really made me sick, after fermentation not so heavy in the nic department, but still potent.
@kougy : The unfortunate thing about snuff is it takes some time before you can actually do it right. I wouldn’t worry as much about the nicotine just yet. I would worry about the technique that you are using. I mean yeah scotches and some Indian snuffs do have considerably more potency than the regular stuff. That said, they are much harder to use and you probably will continue to be frustrated for a longer period of time.
I would order ‘easier’ snuffs, so that you can work on your technique, instead of getting all toasts/scotches/whites. Toque definitely has probably one of the higher nic levels for beginner snuffs. Wilson has a more coarse/medium grind, so it’s easier to get right.
We all figured it out eventually. Don’t worry so much.
@Mouse Thanks for the information.
another article with more background:
http://www.sarudama.com/miscellaneous/arabic\\_medwakh\\_pipes\\_and\\_dokha.shtml
@jazzi_mike Thanks for the explanation… my first order was Toque from the site and I got 8 flavors… until now I try to get my technique right because the grind is fine and my second order is from Mrsnuff and contains Grunt and other Indian snuff so I try to learn how to use this fine grind without getting too much throat hits.
I just know that when I actually started to be able to use snuff correctly, I definitely got enough nicotine from just regular snuffs. If I got a big pinch of most anything, I would be able to feel it. The snuffs that were mentioned in this thread took me longer.
@jazzi_mike ya I think it will take long from me too, maybe I would have begun with Poschl or something like it, but anyways I will practice until I get the grip of it, I really like this snuff world.
yeah strength isn’t much of a real issue. either take a big pinch or take several small pinches that equal a big pinch. It also takes longer for snuff to enter the blood stream so don’t expect an imediate lift. I find it’s best to snuff when I feel the nicotine disapating. Funny thing is for some reason you’ll actualy get more nicotine from snuff after a while of use. Might be technique but who knows. I personaly think the body changes in some subtle ways and learns how to get the nicotine from snuff. Also it is not elegant but if you’ve not got pinch down you can just stuff snuff into the nose, that will show you how strong snuff is. In fact that’s how I do white snuffs. Stuff it in then sharply exhale to get the fine dust from going down my throat. You can put a lot in that way and you won’t care what snuff has more nicotine at that point.
@bob I agree with you “strength isn’t much of a real issue” … if the snuff is not potent just take several pinches until reaching a fix… stuffing snuff inside the nose can be done in private only, effective but not practical… I think when I get the grip of the pinch it will give the same effect.
Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes it seems to sneek up on me. Like if I’m sitting watching TV and taking a sniff every 5-10 minutes the “wow, I’m actually getting pretty buzzed here!” moment arrives.
I enjoy feeling the waves of nicotine rushing through my head. Spanish Jewel does this for me. The dark air cured Burley does this too. I have had to sit down after snuffing Dholakia White too. Actually I have been able to get pretty good hits from a lot of different snuffs including Shmalzlers. Snuffing with lower nicotine blood levels can influence the rush feeling.
You can occasionally touch the Dragon, but you cannot keep him.
Well put.
I just aquired a new baby dragon… vapeing. I give it a bout a month before it outgrows its chains.
Snuff + Vape = buzz (for a few weeks at least
@Juxtaposer I think that’s because of the experience, a newbie like me will take more time until perfecting his technique so he can feel the nicotine from almost all kinds of snuffs.
@Gsnuff Seems you are having fun, enjoy it
I have only ever got a nicotine buzz off one snuff and it made my head swim it was so strong. And it’s not on sale yet. Not one of mine either.
@Snuffster You mean a home made kinda snuff ?
@Snuffster Now you are just being cruel, man. Quit teasing everyone.
I know:)
Super Quit Extra? One can always hope
Harlequin you have to understand Snuffster has trouble telling dreams apart from real life. I don’t know how many times I’ve explained to him I don’t make a great snuff and it’s not going to market and that even if I did I wouldn’t use monkeys with rocket packs to deliver it to him. @ Snuffster do you think he bought it?
Lol, I hope so.
Why’s Snuffster the only one who gets jetpack monkey delivered snuff?! Man, life just ain’t fair…
An ultra-fine snuff like Dholakia White will release a lot of nicotine right away, while a strong but coarse snuff like NTSU may give more nicotine per gram but it takes longer to absorb. I don’t think nicotine levels in snuff have been measured much, though there was one study of American scotches and sweets. From what I recall, Bruton wins, at least for unprotonated nicotine.
@Mike B. Thanks a lot for the information.
Why’s Snuffster the only one who gets jetpack monkey delivered snuff?! Man, life just ain’t fair…
Cause that’s just how it is!
Starr is close to Bruton’s in that study.
Revel Regular, Bruton’s, Devoe Eagle, then Starr. I’m not sure is Revel or Devoe are available.
But none of the others were even close.
@Slide You mean that Bruton is more potent than Rooster ?
@Kougy - yes. It has more available nicotine per gram. Rooster has more nicotine per gram but I believe it is the unprotonated nicotine that affects us the most.
I’ll try to attache the file. It is not of the best quality
@Slide Thanks a lot for the information, I think Bruton will be in my next order
@bob What is the most powerful snuff you have ever tried ?
@Kougy if you want potent, blend 60% Dholakia White with 40% Brutons. Blow your head off, you will.
Any indian white snuff seem hard hitting. I’ve never been disapointed by any snuff and just use big piles.
@SnuffinClown Oh this is a deadly mixture you are talking about, you must get a huge buzz, enjoy
@bob Actually I did not try snuff other than Toque yet (waiting for a nice order, though) but I do the same, just use snuff until I feel good, enjoy
Got some old, dry Taxi Red and Ntsu Black that are begging to be pulverised for experiment’s sake…who knows?
@Mr. O Well these two together can be the Fantastic Four snuff, very potent, coarse and heavenly " Nicotized " , enjoy snuffing
Thank’s, you too! I’ll have to report after trying those SA snuffs in a finer grind…
I dunno if this is the case but I get a big nic hit outta the ABRAXAS actually!
Toque QUIT
BRUTON
WHITE ELEPHANT
@transistor All these kinds are potent in Nicotine department, enjoy snuffing
That 60/40 blend should put to rest any questions about strong snuff. Then try something you might actually enjoy, such as the Dragun, Rustica has what you seek. I personally do not care how much nicotine is in a snuff 99% of the time, I just want an enjoyable one. But we all got to chase down our dreams. But a good snuff will satisfy just about every time, just dose up to your level.
@Whalen I really want to try Dragun specially after all I heard about it, I think it will be easy to take as it is coarse with big Nicotine hit but I think it will take a little more time to release it.
I agree with @Whalen. Although sometimes I want a fast mic fix, filling my nose with a scent I love can be even more satisfying nicotine wise. I must confess I love instant gratification though.
@TomStrasbourg I love the scents too but I wait for the fix as well
White Elephant enhanced for flavor with vintage RedSeal is my ultimate nicotine rush! But all snuffs deliver the N given a few minutes waiting period.
It’s not just the strength of the snuff that matters, it’s how much you pack your nose with. I’ve gone through stages where I’ve triple big pinched every 20 minutes and even moderate nicotine snuffs will give you a buzz doing this.

Yes just go for the enjoyment with an easy snuff at first, something moist with a medium grain (though I like the coarse also) You may want to start with the reviews for Samuel Gawith on MrSnuff. Kendal Scotch Black isn’t as coarse as many of the SG line, Even if the snuff has a moderate nicotine level such SG Black Rappee, if you do enough of it you will be satisfied with the nicotine level. Remember you are new to snuff, and with an easy moist snuff you will be able to cram more of it up your nose.

The only snuff that put me on my ass was levi garrett, but I was still getting my sea legs. Lol
I’ve mentioned before how I feel like different types of snuffs have different effects. I’d say the strongest stimulating snuff I have tried would probably be Dholakia White, maybe White Elephant they’re very close. The strongest sedating snuff used to be D Black but it hasn’t been doing it for me, something about this batch, so while I can’t think of a #1 strongest off the top of my head I’d say Viking Dark is definitely up there as far as snuffs that can make you buzz. But really I only get a true buzz once every couple of weeks with even the strongest snuffs, unless I stuff my nose and haven’t used any for hours, and I figure most people here are the same.
DW and Bruton were always the most stimulating for me but since I now use snus too, I don’t find any snuff buzzes me up that much. No doubt down to increased tolerance.
I think I have tried most of the high octane snuffs and think that Bruton gives the biggest kick.
I haven’t had Bruton. but Rooster is supposed to be nearly identical. Rooster can definitely bring your levels back up.
I’ve have both D White and White Elephant, good old Viking Dark and Grunt. All of which I enjoy quite nicely. I started young with dipping, and remember my first nicotine buzz well from a measly amount of cheap Husky. Whew! I darn had to sit down. That was a time ago, but I remember the feeling. Flash forward to today’s times, and the snuffs I mentioned prior are considered to be quite strong (I understand). If I take a figurative fistful of my ‘strong line’ of snuffs, I can tell something is happening, but nothing too terribly major as far as sweating and removing one’s hat is concerned. One snuff though brings a mention, and it may surprise. For whatever reason 6 Photo Kailash never fails to kick me in the head. I’m talking two average pinches in each nostril, and my head is spinning. I didn’t expect this after sampling this snuff sparingly after my purchase. One evening, I tucked the 6 Photo into my jacket and ventured out for a few beers and a movie. Wanting some snuff and needing a toilet, I decided to indulge in the bathroom of a theatre. Over confidently and somewhat foolishly (in hindsight), I took three pinches in each nostril. But wait, there’s more indeed. Curiosity got the best of me, and I added some D White in from the back of hand to sample the combined scent. All went well until I exited the washroom and took my first few steps to the concession. Rubber knees and a melted face got the best of me to say the least. I found myself humbled as nicotine made me take a seat, and lingered for many a minute. From that day on, I still can’t handle much Kailash at all. I recommend the snuff entirely.
@Jeffsnuff It’s probably all the darn lime they put in the 6 photo snuffs. I love them, but they make my nose run something fierce. I’ll put a vote in for Viking dark as it rattles my teeth every morning. D White and Brutons are very strong but they have no finesse.
@JohnnyFriday You’re half right! Rooster technically has more nicotine than Bruton, being recorded as 12.5 mg/g versus Bruton’s 11.14 mg/g. However, Bruton has a much bigger hit because of its high unprotonated nicotine (highest among all US snuffs). Bruton’s was measured at 3.12 mg/g and Rooster a mere 0.74 mg/g. Meaning all that nicotine is being released much faster in Bruton (aka Brutal) Having said that, I feel Bruton lacks in flavor compared to Rooster. Its a bit to acrid, and Rooster is a good balance of sweet and smokey. However, when it comes to just mg per gram of nicotine (not unprotonated which is an indication of uptake rate) the top 4 goes to some snuffs from Swisher. US Smokeless doesn’t even get close with only half the nic. So waiting longer with these should be more satisfying. Railroad Mills Plain 24.84 Navy Plain 24.84 Wild Cherry 23.38 Superior 23.17
I very much agree with Basement Shaman! I mix in as much Dholakia White as needed, depending on how I feel about nic that day-to whatever snuff or blend I’ve got going on that day. Taken by itself its nothing delicious, but not intolerable and gets the job done. INTERSTINGLY, I think that I got my first/only snuff nic buzz on McChrystals Smoker’s Blend, just continuously going at it because its so delicious. I’m including that with the NTSU’s and such of the world. I really love Rosinski Oderlander (8.6 percent nic) with a spot of Dholakia white. Jazzy, but tastes dark and wet as I enjoy most. Good Luck snuffers!
Are we still debating this? Ok. This thread is ten years old. All Indian whites are powerful. Who knows what is the strongest? Everyone is different.
I would love to try the 6photo Natural, and the swiss chocolate. I love the Grunt,( DHOLAKIA African-its an excellent camphor)(dho-sandalwood) (Dho-Lion king, is a hard NicHit Menthol),(Dho-Vanilla-A+),(Dho-Coffee/Cream-B),(Dho-Honey-C+),(Dho-Rose,Choc-B+), The African really is probably their best if you are looking for a Camphor, sometimes I get a Birch flavor, sometimes a Tea-berry, but always good!
