J&H Wilson uses them too.
@bob lmao
@Mr.O I’ll have to try their snuff soon
The Medicated 99 (according to my senses) is great for a Hedges fan.
They can be a sod to open sometimes, though.
Indeed–my American coins are often not up to the task and I have to root around for a nice solid 50p piece to open my tins.
A key can work nicely, once you figure the best angle, positioning it sideways and twist.
I love these tins as they always keep the freshness in, and the snuff will last for ages without losing scent or flavour providing you keep the vacuum sealed. If you really struggle to get into a tin, pierce the top with a screwdriver or compass and then it will just pop off, but make sure you transfer the snuff to an alternative sealed tin in order to keep it preserved.
Vacuum sealed tins are definitely where it’s at. Saves me the trouble of finding a different container to transfer my snuff into or worrying about the tin rusting and the snuff drying out. I love the two Wilson’s differences in SPs but not their difference in the tins they come in. I love the whole tradition thing but I think any container of 25g or over ought to be airtight at least before purchase.
Yeah I find the tins hardest to control are McChrytal’s and Wilsons, love their snuffs but I lose so much snuff falling out everytime I open their tins, even when they’re half empty.
@Theatre, this is a non-issue. Simply drop the tin two or three times (bottom side parallel to surface and a few inches above) on a tabletop before opening it. Snuff should all move to the center and away from spillable edges. Not ideal, but one learns to work with what one is given.
