yes to what bakdor said. Visa is not making these rules as its not the card companies, its the card processing companies.
OK I get it now. So some shops in the UK are using card processing companies that are limiting credit card use to non tobacco products only, right? Why don’t they just change to a different processing company, or is it not that simple? And Wesley’s was trying to save me from paying customs duties. Good thing he didn’t get caught lying. You should have seen how that package was all taped up and double wrapped and very well packed…probably to keep the smell from escaping. 
Sadly some of the long standing tobacco merchants are more set in their ways than Toque. Perhaps they will come around.

@Pieter I first got sober in June of '91 and stayed sober for 7.5 years, and then had a relapse. Lost my sponsor and didn’t get another, quit going to meetings, etc… I fumbled around for about 3 years and managed to put a year together and relapsed again. I got sober again March 4, 2002 and haven’t had a drink of alcohol since then but I had back surgery 2 years ago and started abusing pain medication, so I reset my sobriety date to April 7, 2009, went through an Intensive Outpatient Program and I’m back into the deal again. I have a great sponsor who I meet with once a week and we read out of the Big Book. Going to at least 3 AA meetings a week and still attend after-care once a week for the IOP. I’ll have 6 months again, free from any mind altering drugs, on October 7th! It feels good, REALLY good! Hang in there Spyro! Easy Does IT!
Thanks for the words of encouragement snuffertony. I just got out of a VA In-Patient program where I saw a lot of hard cases, mostly homeless Vietnam vets on their last leg. I’m a binger which is makes things very tricky for me. I can go weeks at a time without cravings or thoughts. Often I can have those few drinks and all is fine, but then I get that crazy kick when I can’t stop. But hey, I’m not licked yet. I’ll keep going back and working on it the best I can from where I’m at. God has done some amazing things in my life and I know his power is greater than anything life can toss my way. Things aren’t going to change overnight but one day at a time I can manage for now.

At last I’ve made contact with M.L.P. Distributors who handle the marketing of Ntsu snuff. They are not interested in marketing their snuff overseas because the demand in SA takes up their whole production. They don’t even sell directly to Wesley’s! That’s the bad news. What may be good news is that I can buy the stuff in Cape Town from a company called Cash and Carry. I will explore along those lines and see what I can do. M.L.P Dist will sell directly to me but then I will have to start a wholesalers company and buy in bulk.

I found Ntsu just up the road, about one kilometre from my house, for almost half the price I pay at the tobaccoshop! No postage, no waiting for delivery, I can go there with my bike and collect the stuff. They stock Taxi as well at R2.70 a tin and I pay R4.00 at the shop. Unreal, I could hardly believe my eyes.
Awesome! My calculator says that is about 36 cents. You can’t buy anything in this country for 36 cents.
