I got a new order from nic rush last week and haven’t had time to review my favorites so here goes! I was awoken by a mail package popping through my mail slot, I got it, then hopped back in bed before tearing it open. (PS Two day Tom lives up to his name) The first snuff I grabbed while laying there was … Dholakia Black- This is a fine, dark, moist, and POWERFUL snuff! The scent of it is really unique, sort of a dirty musty smell with a slightly fruity top note. Snuffing this stuff is super easy, although it really makes a mess. It has a slight burn but that fades into a smooth, rich, tobacco flavour. It smells like the usual Dholakia tobacco base. RATING 8.75/10 After taking the Black and feeling my senses reel, I started the shower and made another bad mistake! I grabbed probably THE strongest (Besides BRUTON/Sodium Bicarbonate) snuff I have tried. NTSU Regular- This is a SUPER coarse, moist, and deadly powerful snuff. Upon opening I was gifted by a gratuitous wafting of ammonia. I took 4 big pinches, staggered into the shower and held onto the saftey handle the entire time! I especially like the NTSU packaging, it doesn’t seal very well, however it is easy to open with minimal spillage. Sniffing this took me back to my younger years when I worked on my grandfathers farm. It smelled exactly like the wash-rack where we used to clean and clip cattle before going to the shows. It is interesting how smells can remind us of things we normally would have forgotten. RATING 7.25/10 After not dying in bed or drowning in the shower, I decided to take a “Mild” snuff to college campus. J&H Wilsons SP No1- This snuff suprised the hell out of me! For the price you can’t really go wrong. The only downside is the hard to open tin. I don’t even want to think about the leaps and bounds I went through for this one! It is moist, med/fine, and reddish coloured. It has a nice burn up front and then fades to a tangy bergamoty scent with a slight spicy background. I will but more of this one for sure! 8.75/10 The next three reviews will be compared to BRUTON. Rooster- I get a strong metallic base note with the usual BBQ scotch flavour, good, but not as good as BRUTON. 6.75/10 Square- Coarser than conwood/UST scotches, this one has usual scotch characteristics and a wheaty, sweet note I find when I first sniff. Good! 7.75/10 Three Thistles- I really enjoyed this one! i find a very slight flowery taste that compliments the scotch very well. Best! 8.5/10 Toque! SP Extra- My favorite Toque by far, SP EXtra is the most unique SP I have tried. It carries with it a very robust incense/spice bergamot/lavender smell, and is a real eye opener! The only bad part about it is the base tobacco, I find that it is just plain and average with no amazing qualities. 9.25/10 Original- This is like the SP only a little less intense. I find myself using it more in the mornings when I drink my tea. 8.5/10 Toast/Marmalade- I didn’t really enjoy this one much, however I will keep trying it. I get a very weird orange scent and to be honest, It smells like the orange roughy(a fish) I get at the local restraunt! This toast is more velvety than the other two by toque as well. 6.5/10 Dholakia Kamal- WOW! This one is really neat and unique. From the can, it smells exactly like baby powder and upon sniffing opens up to full! I get a very incense like rose flavour. I find this to be a “sit down and relax” snuff and wouldn’t use it all day. 7.75/10 Wilsons HDT#22- I got this as a sample, and I have to say it is my new favorite toast by far. It has a lot more depth than F&T’s HDT. It is also more smokey. I would say that this one is like freshly baked bread, and F&T is more like a sourdough bread. 8.5/10 Thats all for now, i hope you enjoyed reading my reviews!
I did enjoy reading them. Thank you.
Enjoyed it alot, very well written!
If you spread the NTSU on a piece of paper and air it out for maximal 5 hours, the nasty ammonia smell is completely gone… it remains a nice earthy tobacco taste.
I spreaded it out on a paper for 2 hours and it completely dried it out. I think I like it better when dried. Is the menthol very good? I would imagine it to be a pretty intense menthol.
Godd product spread, nice reviews, thanks!
Mrmaroon, The NTSU menthol is actually pretty sedated compared to say Ozona President or Toque Menthol.
glad you posted that, answered some question about couple,
