I too am a relative beginner, but here are a few I love: For spearmeint, Wilson’s Crumbs of Comfort. For the same spearmint with a turbocharger, overhead cam and glass packs, Wilson’s Prime Minister For non-tobacco energy snuffs, Tiger Cherry and Wilson’s Ice lemon For snuffs with a citrus-y edge (thanks to the addition of bergamot), any snuff with “SP” in its name. Every SP is a little different, most I’ve sampled have been grand. Good ol’ tobacco: Toque Natural Candy: Paul Goddard’s Chocolate, Ozona Raspberry, Toque Peppermint, Wilsons Chocolate Orange Medicated: A huge range here from every manufacturer. I happen to like Poschl Red Bull, McCrystal’s Highland Ice anda few others. If you’re not into menthol per se, try snuffs scented with a mixture of menthol, eucalyptus and camphor. Sounds disgusting, but they can be really nice. I haven’t enough experience with florals or other aromatics, but I did enjoy Wilson’s Royal George…for about three minutes. The tin (which had dried out from improper storage) went quite dry. I poured it onto my lawn as an offering to the Highly Scented Perfumy baby-Powdery Tobacco Gods. Speaking of storage: Airtight containers, cool dark place. Some snuff collectors report holding snuff for a couple decades this way without significant degradation in flavor. Also, “old” snuff gives you material with which to experiment. I had half a tap box of Red Bull, half a tin of fairly dried-out Crumbs of Comfort, half a tin of Wilson’s Prime Minister and a nearly full but extremely desicated tap box of McCrystal’s Mild Lemon. I poured them all together into an airtight bowl, dropped in some lemon peel and fresh mint, tightened down the lid, and 48 hours later had a marvelous lemon-mint snuff. Oh, I also added a dab of Wilson’s Ice Lemon as well. I started snuffing through that concoction as a pacifier until I received my Mr. Snuff order today, but find myself returning frequently to it, even though I have two dozen other snuffs to try. I hope this helps. Welcome to the world of snuffing. You’re going to become an insuflating fool in no time, and I hope you enjoy the ride. Oh, one more thing: What tastes mediocre, even bad to you today might taste wonderful in a month or so. I get off medicateds for a week, then jump back into them later. You never know if that snuff you didn’t much enjoy will become a favorite later on.
