Has anyone ever heard of this?

Do you have any pictures, jpsks? Sounds like it was a lovely place. Could you give us some more info on the flavor of Wit & Wisdom?

well this is the only pic i could find shame its in colo(u)r http://www.belfastforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=9851.0 cant tell you more about the flavo(u)r as it was 20 years ago just remember my dad was more annoyed with me taking snuff than smoking

More annoyed with you taking snuff?! Thanks for the link.

I guess that means its not on the rebound in Ireland. :frowning:

xander … i live in southern california now … you could always get the little blue tins of wilsons in most newsagents in ireland ( northern)

Well, that sounds like England too. From my understanding, it seems to be the most available snuff in the UK. I just wondered how common it is/was in your time there to see people using snuff. I have one of those little blue tins right in front of me. Time for a pinch.

@ jpsks, many thanks for the link to that forum. That Gallaher’s Factory pic. was most interesting.

finally got that old tin of gallahers wit and wisdom from my mums place it was my first snuff over 20 years ago the can is starting to rust and still some snuff in it great wee tin thou

Xander, you see cans of Wilsons in most corner shops (small Asian run stores) and newsagents in the UK but never see anyone using it. It is clearly viable for all these outlets to carry it and I think there is a large usership that is discreet bordering on secret.

Snuffster, in your line of work, I guess you may have had to do searches and have people empty their pockets and such. Have you ever seen anyone with some then? Just carrying a little tin?

I think a couple of times over the years but very rare
