Dean Swift on MrSnuff

I mostly agree with cstokes here. Correct me if I’m wrong but Mr. Snuff owns FUBAR, and whoever owns Dean Swift, owns Dean Swift. Since they are the owners of those brands, they could just as easily contract with another snuff grinder. What if Dean Swift’s contract with Wilson’s lapsed and they got a better offer from Swisher, so they contract with Swisher to make their snuffs henceforth. Does that then make it a Swisher product? I don’t think it does. Obviously without law, its voluntary for the owner to indicate who manufactures it for them. Usually a bit of detective work will find it out for you if you need to know though. As for Nescafe being Nestle product, I thoght the name gave it away, but it is indeed a Nestle product, not a Nestle contract brand. They own it, in other words. Coca-Cola owns Sprite, its a Coca-Cola product. Same thing. Robby’s Top Mint Snuff: says on it “made in W. Germany under licence from J. Brumfit & Radford Tobacco Ltd. Harrow/London by A. Pöschl etc.” So therefore its a Brumfit and Radford Snuff, produced for them (for reasons of economy) by Pöschl who has the resources to handle it. The only difference is they’re crystal clear about the relationship on the box.

I think with some companies labeling it as this brand under liscense has a lot to do with tradition.

I was surprised about the West Germany reference as well, Industro. The Reunification anniversary just passed, no?

Hmm… what the heck did I read… Ah, I was thinking of the end of the GDR, on May 7th 1989. I knew it was something. And if you are a father, I hope you had a wonderful Christi Himmelfahrt.

Haha, talk about a juxtaposition!

I’m just keeping an eye on everyone… If it’s annoying, I can change it.

I was just joking! I’m just jealous I don’t know how to use flash.

It’s just a gif I got off of google, here is what the whole thing looks like: It’s supposed to be a sphere from Phantasm.

I think it’s great!

Well I was getting spooked by it! Especially when there are like six on the page at once. Its like a Stephen King story. @ Industro: 1) Robby’s is discontinued. Not being made any more. 2) The way I see it, it was never a Pöschl product, just contracted to Pöschl to be made. Brumfit and Radford still exist, they are an English company. I was chatting with Leman one night and we were trying to track down somone from there. Someone else could contract to make the same snuff, or even buy the rights to that snuff (in which case they would own it) ala Wilson’s and F&T 3) I don’t know when this tin was made. It could well have been 20 years old. The snuff inside was bad, so I wouldn’t be suprised. The “W” struck me as odd too, but I thought they probably forgot it was even there. Ask Leman, he may have a newer tin. It might have been updated. Cheers!

As for the Jaxon’s mystery mentioned a few posts previous, the only thing on the tins is snuff.ltd.uk which seems to be a distributor also for Molens and Dholakia. I kinda like the cherry menthol, but I am still too inexperienced to have any others to compare it to mentally. Tends to clump a bit but easy enough to smash it on the back of your hand with the side of the can.

That’s so weird! It works in IE, but not in chrome. Something else i learned from this forum!
