Why are these snuffs so so… I first tryed them back in the 70’S and have some now but do not seem the same? Maybe time change in taste and the way they are made or by who they are made by? It is maybe that I am older and leared to like the newer blends and am spoiled?!
Wilsons of Sharrow admitted to being the maker of these. However, they claimed (a year ago) that they had not made any for Dean Swift in 5 years. I guess they might be a little stale. I have an Apricot one that seems pretty fresh though.
Just dug into old box of my granfathers to find a tin of dean swit topline renaissance and it has some still in it. Any body know how old it is? Has a goldish lable to it and a sticker on the back with a California dist. and phone #. Also found a Cherry tin with older lable that is empty.
You mean someone actually owned up to making Camelopard, I mean I traded some unloved snuff for it and felt cheated!!!
That last coment made no sence to me? I just dug them out of a old box of stuff my g-father gave to me years ago. I must be not so old school or I might understand. Please inform us what that is or means. Thanks any history is great. Maybe it is so bad that nobody cares to look back and see that the snuff really just sucks but people still bye it and I have some in the trade form as that is where the stuff belongs or in the garbage can, but cant seem to put it into mine.
My reply was intended to acknowledge the Wilson’s provenance posted by Xander. I had no real input as to the flavor you mentioned, nor do I have any experience with older versions. I find the current line to be wanting, and have excluded them from my collection, I found the Camelopard to be disappointing, and will only continue to try Dean Swift after extensive positive reviews from those I find have similar tastes to mine. My comment was not directed to your particular post. Sorry. There are some who think that Dean Swift is great, some.
