Some of our members do know each either personally and I envy them. I have a friend who takes a pinch with me whenever we see each other but he is still smoking. He’s been trying to quit for many years without success. One of my wife’s friends also takes a small pinch but her husband is against it. I’ve given her some snuff and she takes a pinch on the quiet, almost like smoking in the toilets while we were still at school!!
I was a smoker for 30+ years. Tried to quit many times, without luck. I had my last smoke on April 20, and I’m thinking with the help of snuff it will take this time.
Carol, I don’t know if you have tried snus yet, but it could also be a valuable aid to help you quit smoking as well. The portion snus is very discreet, you can hardly tell it’s there, it’s also clean and there is no need to spit. You could probably pick up Camel snus at your local loaf n jug to try, but it’s not near as good as the real swedish snus.
I just picked up a tin of the Camel Snus yesterday. It wasn’t too bad, I could see using it while driving or while out on my little motorbike.
You might also try the other snus, the swedish ones. They are really different and better in my opinion…
I picked up the Camel snus because I had a 2 dollar off coupon, and I figured it would be worth trying for cheap just to get the cool tin.
I found myself to not like snus at all. I did find the Camel too sweet, but then also I found many of the Swedish made plain terrible.
I found dipping the scotches quite bad, so to each his own 
When I use the WE Garret orally, I use flavored toothpicks. I chew them a bit, dip them in the snuff, and then hold it under my tounge for a bit. I like it better that way than the lip way.
Talk about coincidences. I was just on this discussion last week talking about how people back home used WE Garrett orally, myself included a few times; but I have never taken a snort of it. Here is the funny part. I placed an order with Nicotine Rush last sunday for about 14 different things. While I didn’t order it, Tom sent me a free promo can of W.E. Garrett sweet and mild. I am so glad he did. I have been using this stuff pretty regular since then. One of my favorite things about this snuff is the sweet taste when it drains into the back of your throat. If you haven’t done this yet, I highly suggest it. Take a nice hit of a good strong menthol (McC O&G, JIP, Red Bull or SM 500 work well), then immediately follow it up with a small hit of WE sweet. You will be pleasantly surprised at the combination when the menthol gets the nose flowing and the sweet snuff mixes in.
Not too long ago I had a mix of American Sweets and menthol. I finally got tired of it today and needed an empty smash box, so the remainder went into my bag of Leman’s Folly (Iowan Jewel renamed) but it was a very good mix.
“Leman’s Folly” thats a great name. I call my jar “AllSorts”
My jar for dumping the odds and ends is labelled “The Mixture”. It really is quite a mixture in there.
