W.E. Garrett snuffs

What is your guys’ opinion on W.E. Garrett’s Scotch snuff and sweet snuff? I bought a can of each until my order comes in, and I really like the Scotch snuff. -Tony

I really like them both, but not in excess. The sweet hits the spot, and my throat if not careful. The scotch is smokey and mild. I don’t use them every day, but I like them a lot. If you can find it, try Red Seal sweet, not chew, but the nasal snuff. It’s kinda hard to find, but its got a really unique flavor, unlike anything else! I think you’ll find the Garretts pretty nice stuff and they last a long time in those 30 gm tins.

I think the Scotch is bold and powerful. It is my first snuff and one I still go to.

they’re the stiff drink of the snuff world–imo

Garrett is excellent scotch, one of my favorites for sure, perhaps the favorite.

Good snuffs. Prefer the plain over the sweet.

Yeah, I like both, but I like the Scotch snuff for its smokey flavor. I feel like I’m inhaling the smoke from a fire pit.

The sweet is a scotch. Its a sweet scotch.

Love them both

So sick of scotch snuff! Once my order comes in (today I hope) I never want to see WE Scotch snuff again! I got used to the harshness, burn and dryness but now I’m just burnt out on it. Not a good flavour IMO and its the only kind they sell around here. I don’t know what made this snuff so popular but I’ve grown from disliking it to hating it.

I spoke too soon my order didn’t come in today so it looks like I’m stuck sniffing this ground up glass and sand for at least another 24 hours. Too bad I can’t take menthol I have loads of that stuff. I will make sure to hoard a nice collection so I have plenty like you guys do. Still new and have lots to learn

try mixing menthol with scotch for now to ease them both up?

I will give that a shot. I just took 2 hits of menthol out of desperation and feel like I’m having a full blown allergy attack lol. Once my nose clears up I’ll try a mix sniff. Its worth the risk. Too bad I didn’t read your post 5 minutes before.

Yeah I have felt the same way about scotches before, after a few months though I always end up going back to them (usually when I’m almost out of foreign snuff and my order is held up in customs!)

Order was stuck in processing. Mrsnuff had it out the door asap so this one is to blame on the usps. I tracked it to the location that my packages always show up at the day before arriving. Knowing I only have one more day I decided to just puff on the ecig for the rest of the day instead of forcing myself to keep snuffing this scotch. Your probably right horus and I might one day get the urge to try it again but not for long awhile. It doesn’t seem to go bad and it has a good amount of nicotine though so I’ll give it that. The main things I don’t like is the smokey flavour that was pleasant at first but evetually got old and the fact that its the only kind available locally. Some people might assume that only people that can’t handle it won’t like it but I disagree. I’ve almost emtied an entire 32.6 gram tub and I can sniff amounts now that would of dropped me to my knees back when I first started. I mean sure it still burns and I mess it up sometimes and get it into the lungs and throat but that’s not why I got sick of it. Ok sorry I’m done complaining now…I promise.

nothing wrong with a moonshiner visiting the city and discovering bonded whiskey. if he starts liking white russians and pina coladas–he could be branded a heretic by some… but not me. the only snuff i pinch is garretts–from a 4.65oz can i bought on ebay for $8 when starting out. it mostly sits in the corner–but i go to it from time to time as a diversion from the candy ass snuffs i usually use. knowing it’s there “maning the wall” pleases me.

W.E. Garret Scotch and W.E. Garret Sweet are about the only two I can find around my town (Springfield, IL). I like the sweet but it’s pretty rough with the nasal drip, which seems to occur more often than not (and I can use Dholakia White without any). The ‘regular’ W.E. Garret Scotch I would go to more often than the Sweet. I Really like blending in Sweet with Original though. Maybe even add in something with some real kick like Dholakia White or something comparable and/or maybe something with a strong scent like some Toque Lime. Also, Maybe someone can answer a question I have about the W.E. Garret Sweet. A couple years ago (IDK, maybe 3-7 years) I had picked up some W.E. Garret Scotch and W.E. Garret Sweet Mild. About a week ago I picked up the same, but the canister of Sweet said only W.E. Garret Sweet. The word “Mild” was nowhere in sight. Is this the same product or simply a newer version of the products packaging?

@agentshags i am 5 or 6 hours north of you and i can only find WE Garrett and silver dollar up by me as well. I just bought a tin of sweet a couple months ago. It had the ‘sweet mild’ labeling.

i really like the sweet and for $4 for 1.15oz its a bargain. i thought id never finish one but now im on my third or fourth. its a different experience alltogether than the regular where id be extra careful not to get throat drip. i welcome this sweet throat drip and just love it in the morning! Mixing the two 50/50 is nice but i like them both as they are and use them when im in the mood for them. the word “mild” disappeared when they switch from cardboard tubes to the plastic tubs. same product and glad they switched actually as the metal lid never sat properly once the cardboard rim had seen a little wear. i love the warm sweet molases smell(and taste).

I got a sample of both from @tobe and they have rapidly become some of my favorite snuffs.
