Storing Snuff

I’m always open to suggestion. The flavors mixing has crossed my mind, but I haven’t come across baggies that the larger tins will fit in. Luckily I haven’t had any issues with this yet, but the longer I store them like this the bigger the chance of it happening. Thanks for the tip.

Leman, as you know, my collection is getting up to your size. I like the cigar box idea. I might separate mine by flavor rahter than brand. Something like Juxtaposer mentioned above. Already all my menthols are relegated to a (hopefully) airtight tupperware container. I’m in the process of making a large desk drawer the tobacco drawer. Then put all the boxes in the drawer. The menthol box may go in if it promises not to permeate the drawer. I’m tired now, but I’ll work on a pic tomorrow.

It is something which happens over time so it shouldn’t be an immediate concern. I get the baggies in bulk for my business so it’s never a problem for me (like 20,000 at a time…). You can get them in all manner of sizes. I seem to recall seeing them in our local Staples so I’m guessing any stationery shop may have them. I’ll bet they’re available on eBay as well. (edit) - just did a search on eBay “ziplock bags” - hundreds available in all sizes.

Sure ermtony. every supermarket in America is loaded with them. Food size ones should be fine. Sandwich size would hold even the biggest tin, though not that jar of Levi in Leman’s pic. Half gallon size maybe? Or it can stay as it is, unless you want to double protect.

Damn, nice collection, Leman.

@Miamimark: What size would you recommend for a medium sized tin of Wilson’s? The 1oz sounds big enough, but the dimensions are smaller than a Wilson’s tin.

I bought the 1oz and the 1/2 oz. sizes. I wish I had bought two packages of the 1oz instead. I sent Tom some stokers (packed full) in the 1 oz. and asked him to weigh it on his scale. It held about 14 grams if i remember correctly. I don’t know how they come up with their measurements, maybe they fill it with ball bearings! Also, they charged me an extra “small package fee” of $3.00 because the order was less than $15.00. (my order came out to like $14 and change!) I didn’t notice it until checkout and i was too lazy to go back. Still it came out to less than .50 each with everything, so I’m happy with the purchase. There are quite a few of those tins out there because of all my Stoker’s trading if anyone else wants to share an opinion…

Sounds great. I’m thinking of buying enough to transfer all of my Wilson’s over, and putting all of my US snuffs into them for ease of use. Thanks for the help.

@the littlest ninja: How 'bout leman’s predicament huh? (comment #19) and I was having buyer’s remorse for my last purchase…

Mark’s little tins from papermart are great, since they are wholesale, maybe Tom can buy in bulk and sell to us a few at a time?

I’d rather have one of them than a smash box any day of the week.

yeah, becuase if you sit on it, it won’t smash!

oh if your beer taste like skunk that is the green bottle. They call that going skunked. It means the beer is spoiled not dangerously so. Of course the green bottles is stored and transported correctly shouldn’t be skunked at all. But I’ve to met a bottle shop employe that can actualy get stuff put away on time (you couldn’t either probably)
