Reusing snuff tins.

Only If I was using it for work or something like that. The rest of the time I use a good silver box which completely trouble free.

AllanH I have learned this the hard way.

About Wilsons tins: I noticed print on labels wears off easily, I just rubbed few blank with paper tissue and then wrote the names of refills on them. No more snuff roulette!

I save all my 10g toque tins, but not much else.

I reuse taxi and NTSU containers. Dont seem to taint whats placed in them after a good rinse.

The German snuff boxes are also avalible at… http://snuffgear.com/index.php?main\_page=index edm

The containers that I reuse are: Ozona President, Packards Club and NTSU. For example, I am taking a 7 day trip this week. I have filled 3 NTSU containers with 6 Photo Special. Since Cheeta is so dry, I’ve put a weeks supply in a wooden snuff box. I am using President tap boxes for my daily supply of 6 Photo (transferring daily supply from a NTSU container and an unopened 45 g container of Kailash.) I will be “roughing it” next week with only: Kailash Special President Cheeta and Latakia Ao 1860.

Never throw the F&T tins away. I rarely buy them these days but have collected quite a few in my career. They are tall for a reason and round tin contents profit from decanting into empty tall tins as soon as they are opened. Stored in the right environment a heavy moist snuff keeps for decades in these tins, while all snuffs benefit from a design to specifically minimise exposure to air.

I keep the some of the Toque tins, and all of the F&T ones. None of the other brands have good seals. I agree with others who have said that the 10g Toque tins make excellent on-the-fly snuffboxes.
