Just thought I’d chime in about the Heartwood Creations boxes. They are awesome accept for the aforementioned grooves underneath the lid. I purchased one in Teak that did not have the groves and it is the Perfect snuff box. I can find not rhyme or reason for some with and some without as I also have two others in Padauk and Maple that had grooves. I disliked the spillage when I opened the grooved ones. It seems that others do too so I’ll share the fix I came up with. It’s a simple but effective solution to the problem. After taking the lid off and placing it with the grooves up on a table I took a small beeswax cake (I suspect a candle would work fine too) and rubbed it vigorously across the grooves until the shavings filled them in. I mashed them with my finger and worked it into the grooves followed by another vigorous rubbing with a cloth rag to heat the wax enough so that melded back together in the groove. I then took a toothpick and scraped the surface to make sure any excess was removes and that the grooves were flush with the box, then rag polished again. Tada!!! not more grooves!!! I applied a bit more wax to the sides of the lid to make it slide and seal even better. Now those boxes are perfect too!!! Have fun!!
You could fill them with super glue and baking soda too- the baking soda causes the super glue to cure instantly.
