@scottofksu Exactly. What about those that live in the desert and breathe in sand and dust and sh*t everyday? Do they have a bidee for their nose? I let my mucous do the cleaning. Works well. Also, I used to be a paint sprayer, lots of dust and crap. They advise a litre of milk everyday to get rid of it.
so it’s ok to snuff chug all manner of powdered tobacco from around the world without any fear but we have to be careful about cleaning our nose caves with with drinking water…ok, I can do that :-c
I don’t get why distilled water? If It’s good enough to drink, why not in the nose?
because stomach acids which kill many things including some poisons and many many bacteria that can live in the sinuses. Stomach acids are extremely strong and can dissolve some metals (they won’t stay in there long) and if the stomach didn’t constantily make new walls you’d be leaking stomach acid all over the place right now.
More likeily the chemicals in drinking water will iritate the mucus lineings in the nasal cavities. The brain eating single celled bastards aren’t too likeily to catch, but you’ll feel stupid explain that in the after life.
Just starting to experiment with saline spray, might not be better or even as good as sesame oil, though…
I will give another vote of confidence for neti pot with distilled water. We get rather dry in the winter in Upstate NY, and I had been using it anyways.
Neti pot with distilled water about once a week is all I need.
nowadays i take 5 pinches of schmalzler for each nostril then blow it in a few minutes.
Never needed more than a hankie personally.
Pro tip- If you use a neti pot-- make sure you get all the snuff you can out of your nostrils BEFORE putting the pot to face…
I use the netti probably every other night. I use Ocean saline spray in between. Simply Saline is great but its a little pricey.
