If I’m showering I just direct the stream up my nostrils and inhale until it comes into my throat and then spit it out. When not showering I use a 20CC syringe without the point. Slowly depress syringe pluner and innhale some water keeping the syringe blocking part of my nose then continue to inhale mildly to cause some bubbling in water and expel through my nose until water is clean. Than I finish the syringe of water into my sinus and out my mouth.
Pretty sure you’ll want to use distilled water for that, to avoid bacteria etc. I’ve been using a netti pot with distilled, very helpful.
Or just use some of that Bohica you just bought and burn it out, lol
@Mouse, that will probably do it!
boil the water first. add a little salt. anti bacteria. i wouldnt trust un-prepared water.
Another suggestion that occurred to me recently. Bought a small bottle at my pharmacy that is spray bottle but with a 3 inch long extension allowing it to reach the back of the throat or sinuses. I fill it with colloidal silver (an antibiotic anti viral that i have been using with great results for years - pm me if you want details). In addition to the cleansing it does serve as an antibiotic (originally set it up for use when colds or flu get me) and the water adds to the taste, which i love, in the back of my throat.
Try a NeilMed Sinus Rinse bottle or a netti pot. My tapwater is chlorinated so that gets rid of bacteria. I adjust the pH level with sea salt. http://www.neilmed.com/usa/sinusrinse\_isotonic.php
I’m new to all of this so forgive me if this is a dumb question but, is cleaning your nose like this something you need to do every day or just if you have been using a lot of snuff or should you do it even if you only do a few pinches a day? I’ve been using snuff now for a few weeks and haven’t done this at all. I haven’t noticed any problems and usually I can clear things out pretty good just by blowing my nose.
@asieg33 I use nasal saline solution … Have u ever tried putting that in syringe instead of water? @SnuffnStuff… I find rinsing with nasal saline solution and also applying to QTIP …pieces or bits or chunks of snuff will come out of crevasses ( by tip of nose) and also particles that get stuck to nose hairs… Works excellent and can really sense aroma better of the snuff I do immediately following cleansing… Snuffing after cleansing rocks
Each night I rinse out my nostrils with a bulb syringe filled with warm distilled water and a packet of nasal irrigation mix. Then I take a Qtip with Vitamin E oil or Aquaphor ointment and swab it around to pick up excess snuff. Makes the scent for the final snuff before bedtime much more noticeable. Then, since I snuff upon awakening I use a neti pot in the shower.
I only do so when my nose says I need cleaning.
Don’t use a neti pot myself… But found this link for homemade solution by MAYO CLINIC http://www.ehow.com/list\_6908330\_homemade-saline-solutions-neti-pot.html
I just snort shower water and expel it.
I don’t rinse anywhere nearly as often as I used to. 6 Photo Kailash and Special keep my nose and sinuses fairly clear.
I have been cleansing my nose with a hit of Royal George right before bed every night.
I use a netti pot. Boil the water and let cool to body temp before use or just use bottled/distilled water. If you use tap water in your sinus cavity you are risking bacterial infection.
I just cup my hands, fill with water, inhale a bit so it bubbles at the top of the nose and blow the lot into the sink - then keep repeating till it comes out clean. I also hack as many lugas as possible and gob those out too…I do rinse the sink btw.
I don’t get why distilled water? If It’s good enough to drink, why not in the nose?
@SnuffnStuff If you don’t need to don’t, I’m with howdydave I just use 6 Photo special. And daily I usually just blow it all out while in the shower. Depends on where you live with humidity levels how the snuff reacts in your nose. I only need to put water in my nose a couple times a year. Bohica will burn out everything back to your childhood.
