Okay, so I’m a new snuff user. I’m curious about whether most users make an effort to clean their nose at the end of the day or at other points, other than blowing into a handkerchief. Two orders came in at about the same time earlier this week, so I’ve been making a bit of a pig of myself with a large handful of the Toque flavors, Dholakia White, and Abraxas Cevise. In the evening, I’ve been doing nasal irrigation with a little pot for such a purpose that I picked up in India (known as a ‘neti pot’, for those who might be curious). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasal\_irrigation What do other people do, if anything?
I do nasal irrigation on occasion, but I only feel the need when I’ve been going nuts with coarse snuffs. The best nasal cleaner for me is a toast or white snuff. they always open my nasal passages and almost always get everything out of my nose.
@horus92, hmm, that’s interesting. As I said, I have Dholakia White and Abraxas Cevise at hand. I think for now I’ll keep the Abraxas as a very occasional diversion. Apart from anything else, it does make my nose filthy. The Dholakia, on the other hand, seems very clean, I can take a bit, dab my nose with a damp hanky, then move on without worrying that I’ll start dribbling or emitting tobacco juice from my orifices. It doesn’t seem to leave much trace.
I bought a Nasodrill today for nasal irrigation. I’ve been using Sulfarinol from time to time but it was making my nose just watering, so it was a little bit annoying. Also - hot bath. So hot that steam condenses on the walls. Despite it’s pleasurable it just get everything out of my sinuses. Then - irrigate.
only when it bothers me. The nose is pretty self cleaning. Sometimes you do need to neti or just pic the nose. Though I’ve noticed that the longer I use snuff the cleaner my breathing apparatuses seem to get.
Steam in the shower and a good trumpet, gets the blow hole cleared, sometimes a netty pot, but not too much. A good toast on a stuffy day, goes a long way. And Gawith Cola helps me if ever a head cold is brewing, and the green river is a flowing.
I just blow it out in the shower.depends on your climate how your nose reacts.I am lucky, I live in a temperate area the moisture levels don’t drastically change, So I never have much of a problem with over dry or moist condition. In the winter my nose can let loose with certain snuff and I will need to blow,If I do get a blockage 6 Photo special is my solution opens me up with no rebound.
A good blow while in the shower and a couple qtips keeps me cleaned up just fine.
I have a neti pot almost drowned myself the first time I used it so now I stick to blowing my nose only its much safer for me !!
A good pick and/or blow works for me. I got a neti pot when I first started but I’ve hardly used it.
@crullers I have been meaning to say nice avatar for a while
A neti pot always works for me, as well as several Q-tips together to do a little scraping.
The shower/blow combo works for me, if that´s not enough a damp tissue always finishes the job.
Blowing the nose is best for me. If I am done with a snuff session, a final toot of a good medicated snuff will turn the mucus faucet on enough to clear out any excess.
@jpsks Oh my, this is almost like showing up to work dressed identical to a co-worker… Was watching some Bugs cartoons with the little one awhile ago and saw the Scarlet Pumpernickel episode. I though it would make a cool avatar, I didn’t realize it was already taken!

There’s something called a “Nasodrill”??? LOL, somehow the words “nose” and “drill” sound dangerous together.

I find dry works best to dust off snuff, wet makes it stick… but i usually just clean out the nose in the shower, the running water negates the sticking effect. between showers if i feel the need ill go do it in the sink, or if im feeling particularly lazy ill use a handkerchief (read: repurposed (clean) dark clothing). i have an aversion to tissue, wet paper, etc particularly near my central body/face, and since being little, handkerchiefs too. i know, im weird, and even weirder for having this issue AND being a snuffer, but hey, i get by.
I blow my nose once in the morning after showering, and that usually suffices - sometimes one more blow before bed. That’s all really.
My nose seems to cleen itself quite well, especially in the shower. :-bd

Yes, it’s French product, I think.
