Well I wouldn’t root around in snuff but a pinch off the top never hurts anyone. For me the danger is of drying out. Schmalzlers get a weird texture even when stored in airtight containers.
@saucy_jack I mix my tea, I mix my hash oil, I mix my snuff, all depending on what flavors I feel like that day. Possibly some people just have better taste buds then you. Personally, if someone wants to sniff 30 year old snuff, or people want to store their snuff in a open container in their sock drawer. What does it really matter? I find every week I like different snuffs, some weeks Ill think something is foul and the next find it great, and vice versa. It honestly makes no sense. Unlike smoking tobacco, which I would only smoke bali shag. That is the joy of snuff tobacco. So I thought, but now I find out I’m ruining it. Lol. But if someone comes for advice, and the advice is don’t do it “unless you are a master tobacconist” seems less than helpful. Not that my advice is much better. But I started sniffing snuff off and on since1996, never was really serious about it until the last year, now I have quit all other forms of tobacco, and the pos e cig. And am left with the 80 tins of snuff in the fridge. I have grown my own tobacco over the years, and am still trying to grow it. Despite living on a frozen dead mountain. So, when does this mastery of tobacco come?
@coreymillia no offense taken. I hope none was given by my levity. It’s possible some people have better taste buds then me. Im far from a “master tobacconist”, to boot. It doesnt matter what people do or don’t do. My advice was merely not to mix at the beginner level. Is there a right and wrong here? Or perhaps I was putting on airs? Either way, that’s my advice. When does mastery come? I can’t really say, but perhaps you know what with your background in the field. In any case I will go no further on this thread. Apologies to all.
