Hey fellas, I’m a snuff noobie here. I’d first of all like to say, you guys have a great site, and I’m excited to get into the world of snuff. I’m looking for an “over the top” menthol snuff. I want this snuff to make my head feel as if it were about to explode, make my eyes water, and clear my sinuses! I love menthol, but it almost has to be overkill for me to really enjoy it. I’m the type of weirdo who puts dabs of vics vaporub under my nose before sleeping (even when I don’t have a cold), and sometimes for no reason at all! This is what I’ve been had recommended to me, so far. Hedges L260 Wilsons of Sharrow Super Menthol Pöschl Red Bull McChrystal’s Highland Ice I’m open for any recommendations. The only thing I’ll really add is, I’m a total snuff noobie. I’ve heard about some snuff being harder to take for noobies, but I’m looking for some serious menthol. Thanks guys! Oregon
all you need to know is hedges … althou someone one here said the new radford in the 25 g tin was on par with hedges not sure havent tried it
Radford and Singleton both have some real nice strong menthol going on. I keep these separate from other snuffs to avoid contamination. You can smell them easily though plastic bags.

Perfect! I can’t wait to try it. I wish more shops in the U.S sold snuff. I’ll check out the Radford as well.

For the WoS’s I’d go with Menthol Plus, the Super Menthol is great, but prob not as mentholated, also their SM Gold and SM500 are intense. McChrystals’s Jip is a must as well. They’re spot on about the Hedges too.
I haven’t tried hedges but I know the radford in 25g tins has a lot of menthol. So do WoS ice liquorice and vanilla ice along with honey menthol. I don’t need a ton of menthol in my snuff, but there’s a good deal of it in all those. If you’re looking to avoid snuffs with moderate menthol, I’d say don’t bother with dr. Rumneys or Taxi green. Personally rumneys is my favorite medicated snuff but as I said, I don’t need a ton of menthol.

I might try a few of the flavoured menthols (honey menthol, cherry menthol, etc), but I’m really looking for a “blow your head off” menthol. Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll look into the Radford!

That sounds heavenly. Thanks for recommending them to me! Well guys, sadly I’ll have to order online. I doubt any local American tobacco shop will carry fine snuff like this. I’ll look into Mr. Snuff, and take a peek around other places, but I appreciate these recommendations & any future recommendations. Cheers! Oregon
Good luck and have fun! What I should have mentioned before is the merits of the Super Menthol, it has the lovely scenting of a nice SP (bergamot etc) it isvery nice, but maybe not as over the top menthol-wise. If you like Earl Grey tea I might recommend it too…

looks like FUBAR SNAFU menthol should do it, I haven’t tried it yet but is sounds like the hardest kicking menthol on the market.
No problemo! To me half the fun is in the experimenting, especially when you start hitting upon some real bell-ringers.
I miss the original dr. Rumney’s, as uneven as its grind was and regardless of its poor packaging. It was my very first nasal snuff at age 18, when one could still find nasal snuff at tobacconists in my State. Sadly, Rumney’s Original has moved to South Africa, and all the tobacconists here in the U.S. have stopped selling nasal snuff? I love Red Bull for pure kick. It was also one of my first snuffs, and while it damn near killed me with my first whiff, it’s still a “go-to” snuff when I have nasal congestion or need that punch-in-the-face menthol kick.
No. The South African one is an imitation, and other than the name it doesn’t imitate very well. There are dozens of English Menthols out there, WoS has 9, McChrystals have 5 or 6, GH have 3, Touqe has one or two… Hedges, J&H Wilson one each… Then there are the German “English Menthols” like Red Bull, Mac Craig, Mac Cartney, Radford (2)…I think the list is endless.

Yeah 6photo no.666 is a prize winner in the menthol department. I haven’t tried hedges yet so i can’t compare but wholly molly. i gotta take miniscule pinches of the no.666. Not a big menthol guy either hated newports lol. It’s a good snuff I just don’t use it often. Would even consider trading my other 30g unopened tin. I think it’s 30g without draggin my lazy @$$ off the couch to look. Who knows good luck on the menthol hunt, much mintiness to you.
