Just in time to be late for Christmas our snuffboxes arrived. All jesting aside, they are beauties. They are handcrafted in the US to exacting standards. Lids are all but invisible, tight, yet slide out with ease. Best of all they are laser engraved with the words MrSnuff! LOL. Also have some sweet McChrystals and Poschl versions. Very nice. Take a peek here if you are interested: http://mrsnuff.com/snuff-accessories/snuff-boxes/wood Thanks, Dave
Oh, I want that Poschl one. Well, I want them all, but I have to be sensible, until I have a job. Dave, of what type of wood are they constructed?
Nice, what kind of wood are they? What size are they? Are they Heartwood Creations boxes? What about a Toque logo? Alright, I’ll stop with the questions already.
They are Teak. We could have gone with the Paduak which is a darker wood, but were advised against it because as you know wood tends to darken over time and also with use (oils from our hands), so the logo would not stand out so well. Since teak starts a little lighter the logos will still pop even after a decades of use. I would be happy to make toque boxes too, but I suspect Roderick might have something to say about that Say the word Roderick and I will have them made. Dave
Oh, I forgot the size…3"x2"x3/4". Dave
Oh great, now I have to get one, Dave. Haha. (Teak is my favorite snuffbox wood.)
They look sharp… Wish you had an F&T version for my beloved HDT. I’ll probably order the mr snuff engraved one on my next order.
Those boxes look mint Dave! I might have to get myself 1 for Christmas. Stefan
I got one in my last order, sure looking forward to it!
Is the quality as good as the PC boxes, some of the made in India boxes are pretty rough mcduff. By the way a friend who lurks but isn’t a joiner asked me about a great new snuff coming out - no details just rumour of something expensive and desireable, bollox or facts? Anything happenin that could be it Dave; they were talkinmg high end prices??
@snuffster: they are awesome boxes handcrafted in the USA. As for the mysterious new snuff I have had several people ask me about it, so the rumor mill is working over-time. I am as confused as anyone, but…if the mystery grinder would care to drop me a line, I would be VERY happy to stock whatever it is you are concocting. We need another high end snuff IMHO…top class ingredients, strong, perhaps even along the Spanish Jewel style?? Dave
Is there a heart on the bottom of the box?
I love the Ying-Yang one but WAY WAY out of my price range.
I’ve got 3 of these bad boys, and love em to death…great craftsmanship! I’ve also got one of the wooden flip top boxes that snuffster suggested on the way, and can’t wait to try it out!!
My friend @FischTix gave me a snuff box with a heart on the bottom, and it’s sweet. Not the same as the Mr Snuff boxes though, which are quite a bit larger. It’s a nice box too, though hard for me to justify carrying that much snuff around. I’ve found one that doesn’t suffer too much from drying out, and that’s what I carry in my Mr Snuff box. Fischy filled my heart-marked box with Dholakia Manjul, and it’s a double treat!
Just to say I bought a McChrystals one of these and it arrived today. The dimensions are not 3"x2"x3/4", they are 1 1/2", 1", 1/3". The box is also a lot darker than the image on the website - @MrSnuff.
I already have 2 Sharrow and 1 Poschl snuff boxes.
I’m waiting for the ISTA snuff boxes… What’s the status on them?
Was your Poschl box as small as my McChrystal’s one, @howdydave?
I bought a McChrystals heartwood snuff box from Mr.Snuff last year and its 3x2x3/4"
I feel a little diddled here
That’s the size I was expecting. The logo barley fits on the top of this box. Ho hum, I suppose that’s what you get for buying undescribed goods.
