more snuff boxes for sale

Just terrific, and the price makes it more of a gift than a purchase. It’s nice to have a box made by one of the members on such a small scale - makes them pretty unique. Are you a full time snuff box user now lazarus? How many do you have?

Yeah, I’m ashamed to admit the snuff has become a bit of a habit now and both my boxes are full up ready for use! I only have two boxes but as I said on my other thread I am possibly after another. The larger of my two boxes is full of McChrystals Mild Lemon, the smaller one (made by Onefortheroad) is full of Gawith Hoggarth Cinnamon. I’ve finished work at the hospital now waiting to start my next job so i’m sitting at home for the next 3 weeks and I find myself snuffing more frequently partly because I can and partly out of boredom. I find that because I only own two boxes its tricky deciding which snuff to keep in which box. I guess on an average day i’m snuffing between 15-20 times a day, sometimes more. If I’m in the pub all evening i’ll probably snuff at least 10-15 times that night but I always carry one of my wooden snuff boxes to the pub, it looks so cool on a wooden table next to a pint glass! As my snuffing progresses i’ve changed my mind about many snuffs which I had previously ‘written off’ through inexperience. One of my most hated snuffs was McChrystals Mild Lemon, I really had trouble with it…now its one of my firm favourites!!! In fact there aren’t any dry snuffs I can’t handle anymore and even prefer them to the moister ones now (never thought i’d type that!) which is also cool because I find if you put moist snuffs in a snuffbox and don’t use it up quickly the snuff will go dry in a matter of hours. If you fill the boxes with dry snuff in the first place it won’t spoil!

I might buy another box myself soon, trying to make up my mind…

Still have any padauk round? Let me know, because i want to order one. Just give me the paypal address, and ill get the money to you. Thanks alot ~douche master ken~!

Just wanted to post a picture with some of the new zebrawood and cherry round boxes that are available. The zebrawood don’t have inlays. I felt it took away from the natural beauty of the wood. Hopefully you can make out the wild endgrains in the photo.

Sorry Onefortheroad I’m ignorant…what do ‘inlays’ mean?

Inlays are objects or materials recessed into the wood. In this case thin strips of other wood, but you can inlay metals (silver or coins) or shells (abalone or mother of pearl) or just about anything. Similar to what you see in finer guitars and such.

What function do they serve?

These are also still available.

Lazarus- I suppose no function at all. Just something to look at. Adds color and design to an otherwise boring object.

Those sure look great onefortheroad, I might just have to get another one soon. The zebra wood is beautiful, looks just like one of my pool cues.

Just wanted to say I was amazed at these beautiful boxes and would love to order some! I love beautiful handicrafts and fine woodworking especially. The inlays are beautiful, really nice work! Hello to everyone!

I’ve ordered a ZEBRA STRIPE snuffbox from onefortheroad !! Just holding thumbs that my payment is successful. I’m not familiar with PAYPAL payments, just hope my bank knows what it’s all about. Living in a Third World country is terrible when it comes to this type of thing. But I’m a fixture here, cannot move away. Our exchange rate is so bad compared with other countries, one needs millions of rands if one wants to move overseas. And I’m also to old already. Regards to all

Hi Ladies & Gentlemen, would just like to inform you that, as from yesterday, I’m the proud owner of a Zebra Stripe snuffbox, manufactured by Patrick!! On the bottom it shows the initials “PJC”. Now, that’s either Patrick’s initials or he was clever enough to pick up my initials, which is also “PJC”. Whatever the case may be, I have a snuffbox with my initials on it. It’s filled with my favourite TOQUE Espresso and I will carry it with me where ever I go. Thanks Patrick, you’re a star

Congratulations Pieter, mine is constantly in my pocket and in actual fact I think I’m a bit infatuated and may marry it. PJC is Patrick’s initials but a nice coincidence!

LOL that’s great Pieter, what’s the odds

Snufecker! Thank you, and I too am happy for you, that you found a wooden box that you like. Most of the contemporary wooden boxes I have seen look clumsy and dull. But of course tastes differ. And thank God for that! Have another pinch  Viking

I just ordered two more.
