My age is inversely proportional to the amount of caffeine in my system. Thus I wake as the ageless undead, am middle-aged by late morning and sometimes annoyingly adolescent by the evening. Nevertheless, I remain chronologically 43 throughout.

Old enough to remember black&white TV (with primetime cigarette commercials), JFK’s assassination, the Vietnam War, smoking pot with a guy who, a few months later, was killed there, Neil Armstrong stepping on to the moon, telling my dad that investing in this brand new company called Microsoft might be a good idea (he didn’t!), and gas prices shooting up to an unimaginable .75 cents/gallon (from like .40 cents) during the Opec Oil Crisis. I remember life before the Internet, and it was good.
