How much nicotine?

I was definately smoking hand rolled cigerattes. Though now I use snus which gives me more of a kick then cigerattes did.

So far I haven’t been successful with using snus. When using it I generate a lot of saliva. The reflex is to swallow it (bad idea) and I don’t like the idea of having to spit all the time.

I thought the great thing about snus is you didn’t have to spit?

it is.

It definitely makes a difference between having it in the lower lip and the upper lip. When in the lower lip it just mixes with your normal saliva & you feel more of a need to spit. But when in the upper lip you don’t seem to get the same need.

saliva is pumped in through the lower part of the mouth mainly. I know because I just had a saliva gland infection and could in the worse way feel where the saliva was actualy entering my mouth.

I have never smoked a cigarette that came close to the nicotine amperage in a couple good pinches of real strong snuff. The effect for me is a lot better without having to deal with the whole smoking thing, which i have had to severely limit. I have a smokes now and then, and i keep some cigars on hand. But there is no urgent need to smoke. I don’t have to have cigarettes available to me 24/7. Snuff has become my daily go to for nicotine. When I first got into tobacco, as a teenager, what attracted me was the smell of the spicy pipe and cigar tobaccos - before they burned. A very indulgent clerk would allow me to spend a half hour in the humidor room and purchase one or two cigars or one of their house pipe blends. I loved the smell of that room! Unfortunately the perfume of the tobacco leaf is lost, or I should say changed radically by combustion. And the smoke on your palate and in your nose affects your sense of smell to a huge degree. With a fine snuff you get that “nose in the humidor” perfume in a form that persists, even as it evolves with moisture and warmth. It is still there for a time even after the snuff is expelled. After a year and a half of using snuff, I am well satisfied with my new friend and if I want to feel the nicotine, there are many reliable grinds for me. The variety of my collection is a wonderful source of entertainment. I have something for every whim. i count myself as truly blessed.

stitch fully agreed on that. I definately think one of the greatest things about snuff is the vast variety that is afforably aquired. I find snuff so much more boring and less enjoyable when I’am down to two or three types where as just having four makes for a wonderfull time.

Stitch, A friend of mine who is a real heavy cigarette smoker had his first pinch of snuff yesterday, and would agree with you. It just happened to be Taxi Menthol as I’m trying out the Taxi and Magnet blends… But that’s a different story! Anyhow, he did the usually sneezing thing on first go, but was dipping in and out of the various Taxi blends that I had, deciding which he liked best whilst the dreadful England football team display was on. He reckons that it gave him a real nicotine kick, he didn’t leave the room for a smoke whilst the match was on (he usually would have done) and he also said that he was getting ‘head rushes’ from it. After the match he ended up taking the tin of Taxi Menthol home with him!

Nosebag, Wow that’s a very good first experience considering Dingler products are notoriously heavy duty. I have some menthol magnet, and I think the notoriety is justified! Sounds like your friend may be a convert. It’s fun introducing smokers to snuff!

I find too when snuff isnt’ giving me a nic rush that doing a few more pinches will chinch the deal.
