I smoked cigarettes off and on since 6th grade (almost 40 years ago). Never quite got hooked, just liked the nicotine effect. Some years back I got into RYO, but not long after found cigars, then pipe tobacco, then snuff, then snus. At this point, use all the latter except cigarettes.I love tobacco and its rich history, though I feel cigs are a corruption of the enjoyment of this excellent plant.Snuff provides the most economic use of it, with the most flavor possibilities, and I see myself being eventually limited to snuff, snus and pipe in the long run.
I used to smoke 2 packs a day, but quit about 25 years before I discovered snuff.
I used to smoke cigs, quit and then started up a few years ago and quit again. .I think that was 2008. I do enjoy cigars once in ahwile. I’m still experimenting with smoking pipes, it is relaxing because you have to make it relaxing. I haven’t mastered it yet, and I find snuff is easily portable, I don’t need a lighter, or a tamper or a bag of tobacco… just grab and go. I think I’ve learned how to use snuff a lot quicker. It’s probably going to be my main source of tobacco/nicotine. Not to mention it’s got to be healthier.
I enjoy all types of good tobacco, cigars, pipes, and snuff. Never wanted to quit!
Hell I smoked everything and now I just do snuff
The only tobacco I use is snuff. I used to like vaping but it kept irritating my throat and wasn’t giving me the satisfaction I was looking for. Now no batteries, mods, tanks, etc. simply a tin and my fingers. However, I’m also getting a couple of toys for my snuffing but none of this is nearly as expensive as vaping supplies.
I smoked cigarettes, cigars, and pipes when I was younger but quit for health reasons (oh yeah, my second marriage might have had something to do with it). Snuff is the only tobacco I use. I love that it is barely noticeable to those around me; also, even though snuff is inexpensive, there is an endless variety of options to explore.
Except for the occasional cigar, I’m snuff only. I have a can of makla that I haven’t tried yet.
Some days are just snuff, but I love tobacco too much to not smoke pipes and cigars, not to mention dip and snus. It also seems like it may be a measure of harm prevention to switch it up occasionally for a day or so. Yesterday was snuff, today was snus, maybe back to snuff tomorrow if I can wait that long. Hell I just love tobacco, in all it’s forms. I just won’t smoke cigarettes, and that’s just because the mechanical damage of the smoke crudding up the lungs, I love the smell of them though. I love tobacco
I set myself an upper limit of two pipes per day, although sometimes days go by and I don’t even have one. I might smoke a cigar once every blue moon or two, but apart from that it’s snuff exclusively. No sense of deprivation when I don’t smoke the pipe, it’s just an occasional evening treat.
I smoked ryo cigarettes for years when I was young. Perle Shag tobacco and Golden Virginia, which was from England.I tried snuff when I lived in Scotland when I was 16 years old. It was G Smith snuff bought from Rattray’s store in Perth. Fast forward a bunch of years and I got into smoking cigars. I lived around the corner from a tiny 3 man, hand-rolled ciagr place called Teri’s Hand Made Cigars, in Santa Ana, California. Fast forward again to living in Colorado in 1997, where I found Garrett Sweet in a local head shop, then discovered Silver Dollar and Toque, and finally Mr Snuff about 5 years ago, I think. Now I don’t smoke, just snuff. I like the variety and I get all the nicotine I need. I guess I’m kind of an addict. But its okay.
I used to smoke 2 packets of camel filter a day, then my smokes ran out but I had Ntsu black, white elephant, 6 photo natural and Viking dark lying around and I thought why not make the switch? I discovered snuff a year before and I only used it occasionally but desperate times calls for desperate measures, so I started sniffing and it’s been 11 months now, no cigarettes, snuff only and no regrets.
It’s taken two weeks of snuffing to slay 35 years of smoking cigs. Well, almost… I’m down to four of five roll-ups a day and am confident that I’ll have quit by xmas. I do not know what compels me to have those few cigs because I find them pretty grim. I never intended to finish with nicotine/tobacco, just the smoking of. I’m relieved to find that snuff can provide my daily ration of nicotine and is a thousand times better than cigs, but the habit of a lifetime doesn’t want to go down easy.
I was smoking 3 cigars a day and hated the lingering smell on me and the way people looked at me and commented on the stinge. I discovered snus and snuff late last year and started both. I quit the cigars on New Years day and haven’t had one since(30 days). I started with General Snus Mint and Wilsons Crumbs of Comfort I got at a local shop. Then I discovered this site and Mr Snuff and have really got into the world of snuff. I snuff every 20-30 minutes with various snuffs from Mr Snuff and keep ordering more. I maybe do a portion of snus once a day if at all. Really enjoy the snuffing variety and am off the cigars.
I’ve been snuff-only for about three months and plan to stay that way. I love it far more than I ever did smoking. I stopped smoking without even meaning to once I got my first order of snuff in. Happened to be Old Mill, so I started with some of the best!
Prior to snuff I smoked menthol lights off and on for 15 of the last 20 years, a half pack to a pack a day.
I transition in and out, without any feeling of remorse or guilt. At the moment, I’m really enjoying discovering cigars. I’ve been having a cigar most evenings, but I could quite easily go back to snuff only.
786 I started with a pipe and cigars, then moved on to cigarettes when I started getting into trouble with women…smoked them for ten years then went back to a pipe but inhaled it. I quit smoking with snus and snuff, then after six years I used snuff to quit snus altogether. Now I use snuff exclusively.
30 years a smoker and now haven’t touched a cigarette for nearly 2 years. Was using a combo of snuff and e-cig and then dropped the e-cig 7 months ago. I love snuff! Sometimes I binge on it, other times I go easy, but in the final analysis all I wanted was to find a traditional method to gain nicotine from tobacco with a dramatically smaller risk to myself. Tobacco’s not the problem, nor is nicotine - what’s at issue is the delivery system. Wouldn’t touch another cigarette ever. Simply don’t need to…
It is a never ending marvel to me how nicotine seems to be only mildly addictive, if that, in the form of snuff, and perhaps only a bit moreso with pipes and cigars, but powerfully addictive when it is inhaled, especially in the form of cigarettes. Damndest thing…
I was a two pack a day smoker and occaisional dipper for 15 years. I picked up pipe smoking and then snuff and between them weaned myself off the cigs. Right now I’m at a point where I’m more or less snuff only, with the occaisional pipe, probably 2-3 bowls per week sometimes more sometimes less.
