Graybeard, It will probably be the best $5 you’ll ever spend. I mix a teaspoon of organic salt in 300ml of warm tap water every morning, fill my ‘Neti-Pot’ and pour. I just love it. I used to suffer from congestion, runny noses and sneezing fits from hay fever, colds, sore noses (Too much snuff? Never!) and now almost completely eradicated, thanks to my good friend Neti.
Thanks for all the information. NO, I did not make up the story about the fuel line and shot glass and salt, water and arm and hammer. Yeah, I am that cheap. I wont even tell you guys the story about how I tried to trim off a skin tab with a really dull pair of scissors near my beloved pair and buddy. OUCH…yes it pinched and no the wife never tires of telling anyone who will listen to how stupid I am. I guess I must have been placed upon this earth to humor her and give her something/someone to laugh about. Yes, I will get a neti pot. after seeing me do that she is buying me one. Thanks. Good thing she did not (as far as I know that is, ) have her droid phone with her when she came into the bathroom and saw me doing yet another stupid thing. YOUTUBE? bet she would put it there…lets hope it does not get that far. Bribery goes only so far with her.
For those who don’t have the patience for a neti pot, go to the pharmacy and get: NeilMed Sinus Rinse or go online to: http://www.neilmed.com/usa/sinusrinse.php The pre packaged salt costs a fortune so, once you get the quantity right, just get some non-iodized salt or sea salt. The Sinus Rinse allows you to flush out your nose with a pressurized squeeze of the container. Snuffers might want to get the extra large (16 oz) squeeze bottle.
Ozona President, 6 Photo Kailash or 6 Photo Special do the trick for me!
Amen to that Elwin. I think it took me two years to finally quit using medicated nasal sprays. I just decided to tough out the uncomfortable rebound and finally…release.
I use schmalzlers to clear out my sinuses. (My nose starts running like a faucet!) Works every time.
6 Photo Medicated also works wonders.
If you are too packed to get any snuff into your nose at all, I would start with a neti pot or a NeilMed flush device (sorta’ like a pressurized neti pot.)
dragun has been working for me really well for this.
@bob I’m so jealous.
Also as far as neti pots go, I’ve been hearing A LOT of brain amoeba related stories about them involving tap water. Not sure how true they are but I’m pretty fond of my brain so I’ve been staying away from neti pots.
Simple solution to that is used distilled water. But even so the amoeba problem is rare, but not worth the risk to me either. So I use distilled water in mine.
I use the neti pot once a week or so. I use a cup of water and microwave it for 30 seconds. Add a little salt and a little baking soda and stir. Pour in to neti pot and leave any sediments that did not dissolve in the measuring cup and go for it. The first snuff half an hour after a neti pot is brilliant!
@ joesnuffer you should be jealous, it’s a great snuff. The brain amoeba seems to be happening in the same regions that have had that problem for a long time for swimmers. Not a very likely thing to happen. I boil the water and let it cool down which works or as busta said the microwave does wonders too. The neti pot is a wonderfull thing truely. I never knew how good I could breath before having one.
