Hey guys, this is my first post, thanks for letting me join. I’m coming to snuffing from a snusing background, I’ve been a member of Snuson for years. To be honest it was much better when we could get Swedish Match in the EU, but hey ho, I don’t mind certain jakkobsons and v2. I have an affinity for medicated snuffs (I tried Wilson’s Best SP and was not keen, I prefer the cool sharpness of an SM). The only problem with this preference is that my nose can get really clogged up. The thing that helps the most (aside from not relying solely on snuff) is a hot shower, but this is obviously quite impractical if you’re clean already lol. I recently found out about Neti Pots. Just wondered if any of you have had good experiences with them, for unclogging the sinuses etc. Cheers
I tried to like menthol snuffs but they gave me rebound congestion. I don’t use a neti pot, I just use Indian black snuffs like 6 Photo Anarkali, Kailash, and Special when my nose feels clogged or just for pleasure. They are mentholated and have the exotic scent of India. Works every time. Get yourself one and employ it when needed.
Many thanks mate, I’ve added them to my next order. Just a bit gutted that the snuffs that I adore (thus far!) clog me right up.
I have used the netti pot, it is… interesting. The only thing I will say about it. Is follow the cleaning instructions. I personally like alkalol better, it is oddly refreshingly painful. Though I cant say I have used either lately. They come in handy if you ever get sick. I used to use extra dry snuffs for a clogged nose too. Now I avoid anything heavily scented, and strong menthols.
I use a rubber ear syringe (looks like a small enama bulb)
I used a neti pot for a while but it’s efficiency depends on free flow through your sinuses.
I currently use a NeilMed Sinus Rinse bottle instead. This is a squirt bottle which gives you a pressurized flow (depending on how hard you squeeze) and it is not dependent on gravity to get the water through your sinuses.

They can be purchased online.
Don't spend all that money on solution mix/packets, get yourself some sea salt and add a bit of salt to your tap water. It does not take very much.
Experiment until you get the right amount of salt in your water.
The NeilMed 8oz sinus rinse bottle is what I use every few days.
To make your own saline solution:
8 oz (238ml) distilled water (or tap water that has been boiled and cooled)
1/2 tsp (2.5g) non-iodized salt
1/2 tsp (2.5g) baking soda
I use the 16 oz. NeilMed.
Problem solved. Even off snuff I can’t breathe through my nose at night (I haven’t touched snuff since late August), my doctor diagnosed me two weeks ago with perennial rhinitis. I take a nasal corticosteroid, can breathe well at night and now enjoy medicated snuffs in addition to my snus. Cheers, Paul.
