I can’t remember if I mentioned this or not but per @JakartaBoy suggestion you can now create a handle for reviews. It will default to anonymous if you do not actively set a handle. Personally I think it would be GREAT if you used your snuffhouse handle because then you get the kudos and quiet thankyou from fellow suffhousers.
@MrSnuff , I originally asked where to post reviews but have since figured it out. Thanks for providing us the opportunity to contribute!
@SgtJon I am glad you found it. It took a bit of a search myself. I guess we should make it more obvious. In case anybody would like to leave a testimonial it is here. Reviews are left at the product level. If you want to create a handle log in to your account, go to My Account on the top right, select “View or change my account information”. There you will see a box for “Handle”. Type in anything you like. Mine is MrSnuff, same as my handle here (though i haven’t left any reviews in case it is viewed as bias - it wouldn’t be. I know what I like). I noticed a great thread recently on how to write a good/useful review. If someone remembers the name of the thread, can you paste it here for reference?
@lunecat usually it was left blank when we upgraded from the old site. Everybody please feel free to copy and paste any reviews you have left here or on snuffreviews or anywhere else into mrsnuff.com. It would be much appreciated by me and the rest of the snuff community I am sure.
I did - and the handle transferred effortlessly - you run a good ship there sir - thanks
https://youtube.com/watch?v=HLUX0y4EptA I know mrsnuff can appreciate some 21st century tunes.
I was looking through a few reviews and while we have a good number there are some glaring gaps. One issue is that some of the snuffs have only one or two reviews so the review score is badly skewed. This is ok if the review is really decent (ie detailed) because then, positive or negative, at least other members can make a reasoned judgement as to whether or not that snuff is to their taste. The problem arises when there are one or two very negative reviews then nobody will try that snuff (unless they are also on snuffhouse) and they may be missing out on a great snuff that is not to the taste of a couple of people. Ideally every snuff would have multiple great reviews so that the overall score is balanced. Take a look, for example, atSWS Havana Toast. It has 2 out of 5 stars due to only having one review. This hardly reflects what Snuffhouse members think. It should be a 4, I would judge from comments here. So…please do the community a favor if you can: login to mrsnuff.com, go to your account settings and make sure you have a handle set, and then copy and paste any reviews you have made elsewhere into as many snuffs as you can. Or make new reviews. It saddens me to see a decent snuff with only one negative review. It offends my sense of fair play. While I could easily just delete the negative review, I don’t because I want the reviews to be an accurate reflection of our opinions. Dave
You need a point-system, for each review that a mod finds ok, you get x points, after x points you get a mrsnuff T-shirt, then we can advertise while reviewing.
Alternatively the T-shirt can say “I snort brown mud for nicotine, im not the junkie yiu are looking for, move along”. Or just something implyin its a legal substance…
@Rouge I love these T-shirt ideas! Did you leave a review yet? I will have Pat re-instate the points system when he gets back from his vacation. Free t-shirts after X reviews sounds like a great idea.
