It would be really useful to have a link to the snuff reviews site agree or disagree and is there a good reason we don’t. IMHO its an essential resource especially when your starting out with snuff.
Its a good site, although the owner doesn’t have much to do with it seemingly, which detracts from what it could be. I agree a link would be sensible. Personally I would like to see it amalgamated into this site.

I agree too. I spend a lot of time and effort writing my reviews, and sometimes I wonder why I bother as there is nothing new or fresh on the homepage.
I agree with snuffster, though I don’t see how it could be done. There are a lot of errors over there too, such as snuffs that don’t exist, or have been entered under the wrong name. There are a lot of good reviews in this site’s archives. How to amalgamate?

It is definately worth taking the time and effort to write good reviews, reading those reviews carefully is the reason i have only ever bought one snuff i didn’t like and for that i am very grateful indeed. The fact that so many experienced snuffers have taken the time to write such great reviews is what makes that site such a valuable resource. It is true the site could do with a good tidy but the only alternative i can see is to have our own reviews section here on snuffhouse but i’m not sure that people are going to want to put in all that effort all over again although if we did have reviews here it would make snuffhouse much more complete. I’ve only been snuffing a year but when you add up the amount of new snuffs brought to market in that time alone its easy to see it only gets harder and harder for new snuffers to know where to start and just how important those reviews are to people.
Well, the fact that the owner doesn’t seem interested doesn’t alter the fact that there are a lot of good reviews on there, so its a good bulletin board if nothing else. My fear is that as the site owner is not active that when it’s time to pay the fees for the site - which I believe are yearly - that it will just drop off the net. We would loose hundreds of reviews (over 200 for me alone) if that happened. I’m not IT savvy enough to know how an amalgamation could happen but surely it’s not beyond someone like Alex’s capacity to import the data in some form? With respect to inaccurate reviews etc, I put a couple of silly ones on there to see if anybody noticed - thats at least six months ago!
I rarely read that site as I prefer the forum aspect of this site. I would suggest that it would be easy to copy / paste the reviews on to a word document for safekeeping. I don’t really know about the legal issues but if everyone copied their own reviews it should be OK. They could always be added to another website at a different time if snuffreviews were to drop off the net. I’m guessing the banner ads on the side suggest payment from the vendors which should be the incentive to keep the site live.
All my reviews are also on my own site to make sure that they aren’t lost if anything goes wrong with the Snuff Reviews site. And being a belt and braces type, I also have them in an Excel file locally.
That’s what i would have thought. If I type anything long, it goes into word first, spell checked, then copy / pasted wherever. Of course now I’m running google chrome and the spell check is automatic…
I have mine backed up, mainly for my own reference. The site has a lot of potential. I really wish there were a snuff Wiki. Yes, snuffster, I’ve noticed when you were being silly a few times.
