In case anyone is wondering, I am the one who banned two members, not @MiamiMark, @Xander, @ERMTony, or @MrSnuff. You can point all of your hate, anger, aggression, etc. towards me.
@cstokes4 I would have banned them too. Heck the one guy I thought was going to get banned when he first came on. Just could tell the insults would come. It’s like some people don’t have control of themselves.

Thanks for the kind words folks, means a lot. @cstokes4 - yep, I banned a few, people who I thought were ruining the site - when you are in charge you make decisions, some will be bad ones. I partly sold the site (the other reason being time) because I recognised I actually wasn’t very good at running it. But that’s all history, sorry for when I ever got it wrong but I paid by recognising that and handing it over. I am leaving because I simply do not think it’s right to ban people on a thread like that, and I said I would on the thread. Dave decided not to ban anyone - I don’t think it was wise, or did him any favours, to reverse that. But, it’s hard being a mod, you did a great job when I owned the site and you do a great job now. But, principles are principles - I said to ad noseum ‘I go if you do’ and only children or weaklings change their minds to suit their feelings. So, I would love to stay but can’t. Logging out now but with no hard feelings or regrets - SH remains the best on the web, best mods and way, way, way best members.
Most disputes boil down to ego. There’s been plenty in this one. I won’t argue with Abraxas staying true to the honor of his word, however, it was misguided of him to insist that the mod should follow his leading, just as it was misguided of the other participants to insist on their points of view. Honor is one thing but when it is in service of pride it invokes the old cliche…‘if you can’t change your mind are you sure you’ve got one’. It would be healing if a meeting of the minds involved could rise to a resolution, have a pinch of snuff together, and all return with relieved countenances. It would make the rest of us feel better, too.
To defend @cstokes4, if it was the case of being banned due to criticism, @Lunecat would’ve been the first to go. I’m happy that wasn’t the case, but just sayin’. All in all, not my business, but looking at the entire picture.
The bans had nothing to do with any criticism towards @MrSnuff. There are other threads of this nature. The bans had to do with trolling/abusive behavior. People are going to make their own conclusions which is fine but at the end of the day they don’t have to deal with the inner workings of the forum. It’s always easier from the outside looking in.
