Is cope fine cut copenhagen snuff? Here in BC all we have is copenhagen long cut straight, and copenhagen snuff. The great thing about oral tobacco for me is that I can use it as much as I want and I never get cravings for it.
In dealing with dip, I feel like no matter what it’s flavored like, it all has a sort of beef jerky type taste to the tobacco. I know some people dip on here, but I just couldn’t do it.
If I’m not mistaken, Copenhagen comes in at least three ‘cuts’. Fine, Long, and some new medium version. For many years fine cut was the default cut. Starting in the 90s I began noticing the addition of long cut. I don’t recall seeing a modern can that doesn’t specify the grind but if it doesn’t then I would expect it to be fine cut.
Fine cut has the best taste but it just falls apart in the lip too often.
@petersuki lemme know if you need any sent to you. As Xander said- it’s VERY prominent here. I can get just about any type of “chew” you want.
Reading this thread has rekindled my desire to try some American oral tobacco. Whilst straight doesn’t sound to be my cup of tea, the fact that dip is sweetened seems like a positive, to me at least! Anyone ordered from Lil’ Brown to the UK? My only concern is getting stung with taxes on this end…
Just a word of advice/caution. I think American chew can rot the HELL out of your teeth. I personally don’t like Chew and think it ruins tobacco. I like subtle scents and whatnot and most chew is loaded with sugars and flavors and whatnot. It’s just yucky to me.
Thanks for all the kind offers to supply me from the US. I hear from MarK W that there are still some plain genuine US twists to be had and I’m going to come looking for them…Once I’ve got through this Cope (I refuse to let it go to waste, but I wash those in your face flavours out as soon as I can, with gallons of tea). It’s reminding me of eating treacle years ago…
I agree with transistor. Some chews are something I have for occasion. As far as dips I’ve been snusing heavier then I’ve ever diped. I have more gum rot from the dip I used to do then from the los snus I do now. They also burn the heck out of your mouth if you’re not used to them. Most of the flavors are candish and lack subtlty. I do use loose leaf on occasion though which although candish it’s still a nice rich tobacco candish. I really recommend trying plugs or twists if you can.
Dip does definitely rot your mouth. after a can of dip my lip feels like a piece of leather. Thats why I dip on occasion. Chew is another story, I have never had any strange feeling on my cheek after a bag of chew.

HA! That was the best
@transistor @Brandasaur Absolutely - total mouth rot in my case. I had Cope-fine in my lip 80% of the time for many years. Dental bill is $8K is still counting. Im suspicious of the lozenges as well but there is no good research. Thus, I snuff.
It’s my duty to please that booty
