I don’t dip and chew as much as I did the past 25 years since I found snus and snuff, but from time to time I will purchase some good ole American Baccy. I like to keep chew on hand during the summer months for use when I mow the lawn and work in the yard. So anyway I picked up the following today: 1. Copenhagen Southern Blend 2. Copenhagen Snuff 3. Copenhagen xtra long cut 4. Stokers Apple Chew 5. Southern Pride Chew 6. Timberwolf Natural Pouches My observations: I dipped Copenhagen Snuff for over 20 years and it is still the best dip ever! The Stokers Apple chew is fantastic. Reminds me of the Apple Jack chew which I have not had or seen since I was a kid. I’ve yet to open the Southern Pride but I’ve had it before and know I will enjoy it. Cope Southern Blend and xtra long cut are okay to use but not great for every day use. Lastly, I was surprised at the new tins for Timberwolf pouches…these now have catch lids just like snus cans! The cans are also larger than regular dip cans. Anyone know when this happened?
@Allen +1 on the Stoker’s Apple. I keep a bag in my tackle box every summer for when I make it out in the boat. Perfect to spit in the water and scare fish away with.
Glad to see another lover of Copenhagen Snuff. I like it better than snus honestly (blasphemy I know!) Haven’t done it in a while though, it can be a little strong for someone who uses nasal snuff 99% of the time, I’ve been doing a lot of chew when I’m out and about doing yard-work or what have you. Another dip you might like a lot is Redman Finecut Natural. It’s a little on the dry side, has the most natural, tobacco-like taste I’ve had in a dip, doesn’t have the overwhelming saltiness of Copenhagen. Unfortunately it’s rather hard to find, I haven’t had any since high school.
@horus92, thanks for explaining about the Redman Finecut. I have a thread over at http://www.gosmokeless.org/ asking those member for some examples of good fine cut natural. You can find all that stuff over at the http://www.northerner.com/. Any other suggestions on fine cut natural would be appreciated. http://www.gosmokeless.org/forum/index.php?topic=1778.msg20859;topicseen#new
@horus92 Yes, I’ve used Redman in the past. It’s been a couple of years though. I used to spray distilled water in the can to moisten it. @thorgrimnr I’m a fan of TimberWolf fine cut natural as well. Good smooth taste!
