Snuff order arrived faster than expected. Tub of Santo Domingo is one of the new bags that had been discussed here - looks very sturdy and the zip seal appears to be substantial. Not opened it yet, because I don’t like unsealing bulk without good reason.
Happy to see Madagascan and Firedance restocked as it wouldn’t do to have less than one full tin of each on hand at any time.
Also received a sample of White Fox nic pouches which will get me through a few work days.
What I am excited about is one little tap box of Gletscherprise Gold. Never tried it before!
Fresh GP Gold is a treat. I was lucky to try some, sent to me straight from the factory (as a reimbursement for the utterly stale box, sourced from some UK tobacconist, containing bone-dry bricket; I was told it was 6 years old).
Truly refreshing, nose-friendly peppermint on light Virginia-forward base, with just a slightest whiff of camphor, without eucalyptus.
Mine came today too . Cracked into the Santo Domingo . Will probably get 20g of that down the road but I’ve got a tin of Brunswick to use beforehand The dark stuff just doesn’t move fast enough at mine to warrant loads of tins open .
Same same with the dessert type snuffs . Want to finish off a Fire Dance tap before I crack open Beltane or Celtic Talisman …, probably Beltane
Had to rearrange the tobacco cupboard to fit this order in and, being something of a genius, I took a couple of decent bumps of Otto OM upon finding that tap tin. The orange made it difficult to discern what exactly I was getting from GP Gold, but I’m certain it has a scent not dissimilar to Kendal mint cake. It’s as good as I’d hoped it would be, although not a snuff I’d use every day.
SD goes through a lot of changes as it airs and I like it at every stage
Beltane remains the most disappointing snuff I’ve tried. Nothing wrong with it, but it’s marketed in a way that led me to believe it would be similar to Firedance and there is no way the two could be considered remotely similar. Beltane has a nice base and is lightly scented - so much so that I couldn’t have been confident in picking out individual notes. It’s possible I got a bad tin, but never felt motivated to try again. It’s a good snuff in its own right, but I can’t help thinking Wilsons do it a disservice with their description of it.

For fecksakes , I just want a few tonka beans and eBay has been cleansed of the little hippy sellers that would sell you a bag . Should have bought that big bag from Sharrow when I had the chance. Thing is ,when it’s a choice between stinky magic beans or more snuff , I tend to choose the snuff .
Under a fiver at Sharrow for the same size . I need to clean some space out the daystash for this new order . I know there’s a couple of hundred grams of older snuff in there that could go in a tonka jar .
I’m definitely going to evict my ejuice collection from its’ prime location .My dogs are all dead now so it doesn’t really matter where I stash that anymore . That should free up enough storage space to have all the schmalzers in one spot …possibly even all the German if I’m lucky
