What flavour snuffs would you like to see available??

@ Xander: Yeah I think marmite is probably a British thing. Its yeast extract basically (full of B vitamins), theres no doubt some sort of American equivalent. We have bovril and vegemite here as alternative yeast extracts but marmite is the big one, probably due to the adverts on TV every now and then. People seem to either love it or hate it (I love it). Marmite on toast & a bowl of porridge is my everyday breakfast (unless Im hung over in which case its a fry up :p). And I recommend Wilsons Jasmine to you, I tried it for the first time today and it is STRONG! @sandy: Chilli sounds like a fun one :stuck_out_tongue: and I also think snuffs are more fun with mysterious names which are seemingly totally unrelated to the ingredients… Morlaix, Santo Domingo, Old Paris, Morocco…F&T have a monopoly on awesome snuff names!

I’d kill for snuff scented like a $500/oz purple indica from Humbolt. You could just call it “Purple”

Just leave your tin open in the field and it will smell like that.

Somebody already told me that Toque champagne tastes like grape, but grape in a metallic purple tin or green apple in a metallic green tin are my wishful thinking flavors. Maybe watermelon too. With my colognes the original “Tommy Hilfiger” might not be too far off for a good one. This afternoon, had some HDT and was wondering what I sprayed on my handkerchief, and Eureka! “Bongo” (red bottle, square, bull drawing, key on a string)

I’m with stitch, but it’d take some explaining if the rozzers caught a whiff of it…

@ stitch: or Purple Haze! @oaxaca: Wilson’s has the best Jasmine, you say? I will put it on my “get next time” list. Thanks for the tip. Marmite does not sound very appealing. If I looked, I’m sure I could find it or something similar in either the health food stores or some of the import shops. I don’t think I have the interest though. Never heard of bovril or vegemite either. I’d taste if someone else had it, but I’m not going to go looking.

Kill me already.

*BANG* @Xander: Sometimes grocery stores (like Wal-Mart Stupid Center) have it in their intl foods isle. I think Wally’s sells Bovril. I picked up my Marmite at a local Publix along with some Heinz Leek & Potato soup… YUMMY! What the heck if purple indica from humbolt?

It’s a type of skunk.

I get that marmite thing now! It’s like saying Top Ramen beef flavor or something right?

Here’s a few: Vanilla Fig Pear Dry Manhattan (Whisky and Dry Vermouth) and for the more abstract amongst us, how about: Rain

@stitch: I assume that by “skunk” you mean Marijuana? If so… who the heck would want that smell in their nose, yuck.

@ sneezewort. I like the idea of a sea scented snuff. Thats a bit abstract too I suppose.

@CSTOKES - some high grade marijuana has a very complex aroma - not talking about the smell of the smoke, but of the mature, unburned buds. If a person has pleasurable associations with this smell, they are likely to find it very pleasing, if not transporting. Roofers love the smell of tar; it smells like money to them. I won’t be making any cannabis scented snuff, as I don’t think this would work with anything but top shelf stuff, and it’s way beyond my means, not to mention illegal. My suggestion was more fantasy than real.

I’m not a marijuana user, but I love the smell and taste of hemp ale. Hemp has a great odor. Actually, I like the smell of wet rope and oakum. Sisal, manilla, hemp all have a nice charm to them. I’ve spent a lot of time around ships, so I guess it smells like money to me too, LOL.

Too bad it’s illegal. I would love to grow it. It makes a fantastic snuff. It’s not as expensive if used as snuff as a little goes a long way. Be warned however, it’s use will lead to loss of interest in other snuffs.

@XANDER You would probably like the snuff I made scented with leaves from the creosote bushes that are very common in the scrub around here. I called it shipyard. I used toque natural for the base, but it could work with a smokey scotch too.

That sounds delightful, stitch. Creostote has a very distinct odor.
