Fried Chicken Babyback ribs Smokey links ham Banana (or banana pudding, etc) Rhubarb (rubarb pie, strawberry and rhubarb pie etc) watermelon
Mint lemonade.
Scotch Whisky Toast
those sound interesting. I just thought of 3 more too: Apple Wood (yep, just “wood”) Pine
Lemonade seconded (but without the mint; a bit of menthol would make it feel like putting iced lemonade up your nose though). I would also like to see some interesting more complex varieties, like Spanish Gem and Berwick Brown.
I mentioned this is in another thread the other day, but this is a better place to bring it up again. Roderick, PLEASE consider making St. Clements using the toast base. You don’t have to replace the current St. Clements, but I think a St. Clements Toast would be just as good as Lime Toast.
I love gin so I would pick a Juniper Berry Toast
My vote goes for “Autumn Rain in the woods” or “Beach Breeze”. Impossible I know but a guy can dream.
I second the Apple.
Another vote for Apple Also I live by the sea, so I’d also go along with @bigmick and the Beach/Sea Breeze, with a touch of sea weed?
Sauerkraut!
Sweet Gherkin Pickles
hello everybody, an amaretto snuff would be very nice. cheers n.
Strawberry Rhubarb sounds like a wonderful limited edition summer snuff.
Natural Rustica!
Kahlua and cream!
Cheese cake, oh glorious cheese cake!
black pepper damn it it will be a hit I tells you.
I’d buy black pepper in a heartbeat!
Caramel!
Zanaspus you are my new hero. It’s a seriously awesome scent for snuff. Best discription of what it actualy smells like is firery masculinaly floral.
Clove or a latakia for me. Stefan
Smoked mackerel and broccoli Beans on Toast Watermelon and pumpkin sorbet Minced lamb and turnip No, forget those. The new snuffs like Berwick Brown and Natural Toast are more my bag. Perhaps Lime Pickle? Or a floral blend for Summer?
I’ve always wondered why no one has ever made a cilantro/coriander snuff. Am I the only one who is interested in such a snuff?
@kjoerup Those spices are some of the most aromatic ones in my kitchen, my guess is that snuff would go great with a chicken flavored snuff. One in each nostril!
hmmm… reading here I’m already starting to crave snuffs that don’t even exist (yet!) If somebody doesn’t come along and fix this problem I can just see it in the morning newspaper now: “Local woman dies a bizarre death which appears to be self-induced asphyxiation by fried chicken (and other various foods) crammed up her nose. details, page 11”
I just thought of another one…Marshmallow. Then we can combine it with the chocolate so we can basically sniff hot chocolate mix =D Then come out with a cinnamon one or a graham cracker one. Mix 'em up for some S’mores snuff!
@FireMarth Graham Cracker! (Then we could combine it with the marshmallow and the chocolate and have S’more flavored) EDITED – woops somehow I didnt see or read the second half of your post before I replied so. I AGREE
Cat
snuffster? what are you saying? a snuff that smells like a cat? hmm… well … please don’t make it one that smells like a cat’s forever tuna breath and whatever you do, please don’t make one that smells like 'wet dog" (especially a dog who really needed a bath but instead only got wet) one that smells like horses might not be so bad though… one that smells like some saddles and saddle soaps would actually rock Leather – now that’s an idea
I’ve been sitting here drinking a glass of retsina (which is my usual summer wine, but what the hell, it’s just as good during the winter), and was just thinking how nice a retsina snuff would be.
@kjoerup – your comment made me realize my favorite winter drink, a gimlet (It’s gin, sugar, and lime juice) would make me a happy man if it was a toque quality snuff.
Cotton Candy
@ Fury, welcome aboard.
Cannabis? Just a thought…
I would love to see what Roderick could to a ‘gin & tonic’ snuff. Bubbly like champagne…sure it would be another favorite. Also excited to see anything done with rustica!
@RUTHLESS_420 mixed with real THC, thing is, a 10g tin would cost about £60
@bigmick, heya! =)
I like the leather idea. How about Sweat. Like lady sweat. Fresh after a run.
Honeysuckle. I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ll mention it again.
@Wildhorsemane. What is wrong with you? lol. Lady sweat? Hahaha. That is quite a horrible idea… Something for my sweet tooth I think, not too over powering though… I like the idea of maybe some Honeycomb. Maybe some sort of milkshake flavour? How about popcorn?
Spanish Jewel Copy
I’ve heard about this renouned Spanish Jewel, but what is it? What was it like?
@snuffin Search it, it is hard for me to describe. Addicting.
I second the clove, also I would love a virginia/perique scent and for something fruity I would like a pear scent.
A few I would like to see: -Cedar -Clove -Orange+Patchouli -Myrrh+Frankincense -Vanilla+Cinnamon -Lavender+Lemon
Horny Goat weed. Look it up bitches!
@NJE03 – the Frankincense and Myrrh should be called “Two of three Kings”
@Juxt Hahaha, that looks interesting, especially the other name, 'Rowdy Lamb"! (Reminds me of when I was helpin that stray back over the fence…)
was sittin here eatin some pistachio’s and thought, “I wonder what a pistachio snuff would be like?” and maybe a green apple snuff
@watadork Ha! That is a good name.
Ginger Beer Dandelion & Burdock Leather Plum
Pizza
Fish and Chips, with salt and vineger KFC “chicken” Doner Kebab Curry etc. etc. Coriander would be nice, or an aromatherapy blend for relaxation, such as Neroli Oil, Lavender, Bergamot, Coriander seed, Cypress Oil. In fact, you could buy a bag of Toque Natural and make your own - just buy the scents and oils.
Yes, Sandy,…could you make that an order of ‘extra crispy’!
Big Mac KFC Spam Escargot Haggis and black pudding Jugged hare and custard Marshmallow and mustard Tadpoles’ tits in wine Or perhaps a tobacco flavoured snuff created purely from skilful blending of choice occidental and oriental tobaccos. There are simply too many Gourmand snuffs on the market and not enough natural varieties.
I second the Spanish Jewel copy.
I second the KFC idea~ and what about hazelnut?
I was joking about the KFC MRM chicken. I agree partially with what PhilipS says. I would like to see more expert blends of both pure and scented tobaccos, but not food flavoured snuffs. I would love to see Wilsons market the old F&T blends.
@ Sandy You just get off the phone with Colonel Sanders or something?haha Seriously, that flavor would also cover the pepper scent some folks were wanting. Maybe heavy pepper with a hint of chicken?
Not sure if anyone mentioned these yet. How about Banana and Root beer? The Wiz!
The root beer should be easy using sarsperila (sp) root.
rootbeer would be great
Mmmmm root beer! Dr. Pepper or ginger ale would be good too.
Kinda like Faygo here in Detroit came out with Dr. Faygo? Dr. Toque!
Oh, yeah Faygo, James! There’s a softdrink called ‘Squirt’, kind of a grapefruit type drink that reminds me of Toque Grapefruit. “Hey friend, give me a pinch of that squirt”
perique tobacco.
Perique would be intense. I think a mustard seed snuff would be awesome, would def clear your sinuses out. Other flavors that might be interesting would be fir, malt, guava, bay leaf, cedar, musk rat, neroli, dandelions, and balsamic vinegar. I apologize if any of these are repeated, I haven’t read the whole discussion. Just my thoughts…
How about a nice lilac snuff? When my lilac tree blooms this spring I’m going to attempt to scent some of the Rustica I have stashed.
My lilacs have a great smell too. Also have a vibernum tree that must be the best flower scent around. I might do some experiments this spring with them.
Good quality frankincense doesn’t come cheap, but I agree that it would make a great snuff. Besides, recent research indicates that frankincense may be a cancer cure:
[Immunologist] Mahmoud Suhail is hoping to open a new chapter in the history of frankincense. Scientists have observed that there is some agent within frankincense which stops cancer spreading, and which induces cancerous cells to close themselves down. He is trying to find out what this is. “Cancer starts when the DNA code within the cell’s nucleus becomes corrupted,” he says. "It seems frankincense has a re-set function. It can tell the cell what the right DNA code should be. “Frankincense separates the ‘brain’ of the cancerous cell - the nucleus - from the ‘body’ - the cytoplasm, and closes down the nucleus to stop it reproducing corrupted DNA codes.” Working with frankincense could revolutionise the treatment of cancer. Currently, with chemotherapy, doctors blast the area around a tumour to kill the cancer, but that also kills healthy cells, and weakens the patient. Treatment with frankincense could eradicate the cancerous cells alone and let the others live.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle\\_east/8505251.stm
Flowers got me thinking of my favorite scent, lily of the valley.
I only want some Spanish Jewel.
Seconded.
I think a pure Honey scented snuff would be very enjoyable. I would also love to see Toque make a Coconut or Mango flavor as well. I love mangoes.
New car scent! Lol
I’ve neve seen any commercial product scented with the fragrance of Mimosa blossom, which releases it’s delicate, subtle, non-perfumey and moist fragrance around sunup and sundown each day. Once you smell one, you won’t soon forget it, I wonder if it’s impossible to incorporate some scents into products because of their durability, but I think this would be a fantastic winner, and absolutely unique, if Toque could figure out a way to do it as succesrully as their other floral scents. It smells like fresh, sweet moist air as night turns into day or vice versa. I would also like to see Toque experiment with different grinds and come up with more natural tobacco flavored products, like the wonderful Natural Toast, except more in the area of darker, coarser, moister blends, of which there are few and far between, and which seem to be regularly sold out or difficult to get. The unusual food and drink combinations are not of interest to me, because smelling an item I normally associate with eating or drinking merely whets my appetite for the object, and ends up being frustrating rather than fulfilling, For me, snuff scents work best when they have to do with objects for which smelling them is the primarly way of experiencing them sensually, unlike–for example–chocolate, for which the smell is just a prelude to eating the stuff.
I would like to see a HDT with just a hint of menthol, to the best of my limited knowledge I think there has only been one menthol HDT on the market before.
Oooh, how do you join this tasting panel? XD
I would like to spearhead the ‘tasting panel’ in the U.S., Roderick. (With the magnetic atmosphere being a polar opposite of Europe, it would be wise to confirm that 400g of a new flavor holds the same scent in Ohio as it does in England)
@ snuffster I would describe Sparrow Cool as being like a HDT with a hint of menthol. Certainly the grind would qualify it as a Toast. Would the Sparrow Cool fit your criteria, or not?
LHB, I agree there are similarities but I wouldn’t call it a high dried toast. In actual fact I’ve just finished one of the small round snuff boxes of Sparrow Cool - I would say it’s a mentholated SP. HDT’s are manufactured in a specific way to carry the name - traditonally using kilns to toast the tobacco. I am no expert in snuff manufacture so stand to be corrected by one of our members more knowledgeable in production, but I don’t think the Sparrow has this treatment - certainly to my palette it doesn’t fee like a HDT. Best wishes, Nigel
and thanks Roderick.
Wit & Wisdom by Gallaher was the mentholated toast that snufftser was talking about. One of our members found some old stock a few months ago and traded them around to other members. I got a bit, but there is really only a hint of menthol remaining. It is clearly a toast otherwise, and very similar in flavor to the Wilsons, F&T, Toque, and SG toasts that are out there.
please say black pepper snuff please please However sparrow certainly isn’t a toast. Similar but it doesn’t have that toasted scent to my nose. Great snuff either way. For one thing I would not add scent to a toast (it would be not so good) I like adding scents to the sparrows (it takes them on extra well).
Bob, Toque already has several scented toasts. Do you like none of them?
Xander, wit and wisdom is something I’ve known about for years but never tried. I accept yours was past it’s best but would you say it was a good blend? I love the thought of a mentholated toast so hope Roderick does create something.
Yeah, it was good. Much like the IHT #22 from Wilsons. The aging had lost 95% of the menthol (I’m estimating) but the toast character was very good. Maybe you missed it, I think it was last summer. MrMaroon found some locally (20 J&H Wilson size tins) and traded them all out. Do some searches to read the relevent discussions, there was quite a buzz around here about it for awhile.
I do remember it but for one reason or another I didn’t get round to getting some. Well, it sounds good so maybe Roderick will re-create something like this/
I agree that the Sparrow Cool doesn’t have any of the “Toasted” character I associate with my favorite “Toasts” but sometimes it seems that people emphasize the grind as the characteristic feature of “Toasts.” I would agree that it’s the toasted flavor that sets them apart. I would love to try a genuine mentholated HDT sometime. BTW, mixing Toque Natural Toast with Toque Menthol at 2/3:1/3 gives a not-so-great combination in my opinion. I should add that Toque Toast and Marmalade and Lime Toast are not my favorite Toques. I prefer the Schmalzer like character of Toque Vanilla and Menthol in a 50:50 blend, which was recommended by Roderick in this forum earlier. Reminds me of Bernard’s Jubilaums a bit.
Sorry I love the toque toasted with scents. “I wouldn’t add scent to a toast”! However with sparrow I feel pretty sure if I like a scent and added to the sparrow the natural scent of sparrow will not conflict with the added scent. Hope that makes sense.
I think a honey with a very light menthol would be tasty as well.
Rustica natural and rustica natural toast.
Well, considering that there is a bourbon variety, and several mint varieties, it seems only natural to suggest a nice, sweet, Mint Julep flavor. 'Twould be AWESOME.
Marlboro" or “Natural Smoke Juice (“Johnson Creek” etc) I’m not trying to be silly, but has there ever actulaly been a 'cigarette flavored” snuff? There are "e-liquids’ that give a really wonderful cigarette smell to them, like the one I mentioned or ones named specificaly for cigarette brands that really smell enticing, smell like the very cigarette essence (which isnt the same as just ‘tobacco’ or at least so far in snuffs I have sampled and that is quite a few by now) if Roderick would buy himself a little bottle of for example the “Johnson Creek Orignal smoke juice” or similar from e-cigarette ‘e-liquid’ suppliers and take a smell of them (they fail miserably at providing that ‘taste’ as provided when used as e-cig liquids)… but that smell… if it could be put into a snuff so it could be really smelled/ tasted would really rock and would be like no nasal snuff I have found.
The closest to cigarette flavoured snuff has been McCrystals ‘S’nuff’ and Toques ‘Quit’. Both designed to be plain and strong. The McCrystals supposedly had increased nicotine but I couldn’t detect it. As for actual smoke flavoured (discounting, arguably, HDT’s) - No
To me, the Dholakia Sparrow Cool tastes like a Newport.
@ Carol, have you tried WoS Honey Menthol yet? I just love it.
wow, lots of great suggestions on this thread! I, too, am starting to crave snuffs that do not exist yet! A few to good suggestions to reiterate/some of my own suggestions: -Apple Pie/Cinnamon-Apple -Caramel Apple -BEER? lol -Sweet Baby Back Ribs -Root Beer/Dr. Pepper -Mocha -Thin Mint (Peppermint-Chocolate) I’ve made a few toque combos that I enjoy from time to time: Cherry-Coke, Apricot-Champagne, Raspberry-Lime Toast(toque raspberry mixes well with ANYTHING), Pomegranate-Grapefruit. If you set up an open taste-testing panel, let us know!
@slybootz: Some of those snuffs do exist. Dolakia makes an apple pie, I think under the WOW label. Molens makes a chocolate peppermint snuff, and there is one people say smells like sarsaparilla (root beer), but I can’t remember which one. Mocha is easy to make with a mixture of a chocolate and a coffee snuff. There are some hops snuffs, but I have never used them so I don’t know how much it tastes like beer.
@ Carol I hear you on the Sparrow Cool tasting like a Newport. It’s the only snuff that duplicates the sensation of smoking a good menthol cigarette (and F you to anybody who doesn’t think a Newport is a good menthol cigarette). Seriously, I wish Toque would get away a little from the food based snuff, and do some more interesting things with natural tobaccos and medicated snuffs. For example, a camphor based snuff would only face two competitors at worst. You can’t buy a good Kendal Brown in bulk. Please, if you’re going to have a snuff interpretation of every food product known to man, at least give us tobacco fans some Toque interpretations of old-style natural tobacco based snuffs as well.
I maybe wrong. I think it takes more work to get the old-style right. More research has to go into it.
www.snuff.me.uk/Samuel-Gawith 250g drums of Kb Special and KB Original. Are those good enough? Probaby have the KB plain if you ask.
@Nachman I’ll have to try the WOW apple pie, but I’m hoping for a Toque version, as I like toque’s tobacco flavor much more! Same thing with the Molens chocomint, which I enjoy, but I like the toque peppermint better than the molen’s latakia chocomint and pepermunt. I’ve made a few homebrew mixes of mocha snuffs, too. I’ll have to look into that sasparilla snuff, and the hops snuffs!
In regards to the WOW! Apple Pie, it tastes/smells nothing like any apple pie I’ve ever had. My girlfriend says it smells like musty pickles(whatever musty pickles smell like lol), even when I let my mom smell it, she said it smelled of pickles. I smell a definite clove influence, but no apple whatsoever, it is slightly sweet though. It is an enjoyable snuff, just not apple pie.
@ xander Thanks for the invaluable tip. Two of my favorite snuffs are SG Irish D (which I now think is the best Toast out there) and Kendal Brown Original, but I would vastly prefer them in bulk to the bunch of 10g dispensers I have lying around. Suprisingly it seems they ship to the U.S. Has anyone had satisfactory service from snuff.me.uk to the U.S.?
Yeah, a few of the guys around here have, and they’ve traded to me some of their bulk. So its definatley come into the States. Watch out for tarriffs! They have almost all the SG blends at that shop, even some odd ones like Apple & White Label. I’ve never shopped there personally though. I might have to get Princes Gold in bulk, but so many good ones…
@ LHB: just read on snuff reviews that WoS Jockey Club includes Mimosa, at least according to an old story cited there.
I’d like snuff Toque Print Series: Old Book, Old Broadsheet for traditonalists and Offset Tabloid for modernists. I really miss the smell of old newspapers and comic books, used to get black nose sniffing them when I was a lad.
Having just had reason to open it since getting it in August 2009, I was just lastnight/today treated to the smell of “fresh phonebook opened for the first time” I also still do hope Roderick will seriously buy himself a bottle of “Johnson Creek Original Smokey Juice” and see if he can make a snuff with this smell – if he did, that would be the ultimate smoker’s snuff. Has anybody suggested avocado/guacamole ? How about Kiwi?
@ Xander Thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely be ordering a tin of WoS Jockey Club this evening. I’m not very good at untangling the various aromatic strands that make up a snuff, but if JC has mimosa in it, I’ll know it. That would be incredible. As far as reiterating my main point, I wish Toque would come out with one natural, tobacco based snuff for every food snuff they come out with.
@AllanH & whistlrr, awesome! My wife won’t come near snuff but if I get a new book she immediately has to dive into it nosefirst…maybe I could get her started with Toque New Book…
Not exactly a flavor idea but… Maybe Toque might make its contribution a la NTSU and Taxi… I have some Taxi on its way as part of a huge order (after watching it frequently being Out/On Order at both the main two sites I go to) and NTSU seems to regularly be out (I’ve also got some babaton on order to test for the first time)… in leu of very much real taxi or NTSU I’m trying to make some home made ‘snuff-alikes’ using the Swedish Match loose snusses (that I purchased and have come to realize I’ll nver use as intended)… Grov snus, Ettan and General loose are my targets… so far the Grov (the smaller amount I have had to work with so its coming along faster at drying out and letting me modify its grind etc) is looking especially promising Since these types seem to be notoriously more in demand than what’s available (and I’m even trying to make something on my own along those lines) Maybe Roderick should consider getting into this market with maybe one (NTSU, Taxi Red, babaton, ground snus) similarly insanely strong course and moist (preferably to me just a plain strong because I’m personally a fan of plain and strong and not a fan of menthol, fruity or floral)
i definately think something fruity, maybe based on a herbal tea. perhaps orange and cranberry? or maybe earl grey could be good
I think SP is based on Earl Grey, or is that the other way around. Probably the latter.
What exactly is the point of asking Roderick to make knock offs of perfectly fine snuffs that already exist? Since no one seconded my retsina suggestion, then I will. Can you please make a retsina snuff? Thank you.
@dubhdarra:a lighter jasmine than the G&H one That’s the weakest one I know. A bit too weak for me. I mix it up with WoS Jasmine (which is too pungent).bergamot orange There are dozens of these out there anything called “SP” usually has bergamot. Many of the Wilson’s moister ones also have some strong measure of bergamot. Also try deKralingse Prins Regent_orange and clove_ (medium grind and moisture) Together? Not that I’m aware. Try deKralingse Oranje,GH Dry Orange, Toque St. Clements. For clove try Dekranlingse Pompadour, McChrystal’s Clove, Toque Christmas Pudding_lemon and tarragon_ Will lemon and thyme do? Try Wilson’s Thyme & Lemon. They also have a nice Rosemary.hopps (nice because its also a preservative and anti-bacterial, i think a coarse wet would work best) McChrystal’s Stammheimer Hopfen Schnupf is the only one I know. Its not course and moist though.tawny port (in a very light toast) I’ve got nothing…allspice Christmas pudding again. Pompadour again. Bespoke Christmas Joy (harder to find). Nothing’s leaping to mind as Allspice specific, but many of the spicy ones have spice mixtures. Somone else wil know. lap sang soo chong tea with honey Many of the best Samuel Gawith Blends are very smokey. Black rappee, Scotch Black, there are quite a few really. To find one also sweet I’d send you to Germany and learn the wonderful smokey sweet snuffs and schmalzlers from Bernard. Might be tricky to nail that down precicely. Ermtony…help me out here!lemonbalm (medium grind and moisture, bright VA tobacco whatever that comes into snuff terms as) Not sure. Best straight lemon ones are McChrystal’s Mild Lemon and Wilson’s Lemon Grove.
apple flavoured snuff.
@dubhdarra, well perhaps someone else can help you with those. At least you have a shopping list to get you started. WoS Morlaix might have lemon balm, but that’s a guess. Its a softer perfumy floral mixture.
@Dominicshore: Try Samuel Gawith Apple.
no its not mentholated. Most Toques mix with each other well, so get the Toque Menthol and have at it. I think I prefer it the way it is. Its probably yellow, but I can’t really tell. Roderick might let us know if he’s in a good mood. Its quite unique in the snuff world though and worth checking out.
Apple can’t be replicated naturally? That must be why the WOW! Apple Pie tastes nothing like apple.
I definatley get apple in Wow Apple Pie. Its pretty strong in my sample, if a bit sythetic. Just wrote my final review last night.
Toque has fruit, meat, candy, booze, flower and laundry scented snuffs. What about vegetable flavored snuffs? Being half Irish, I’m sureI would enjoy a good Cabbage flavored snuff. Being half Italian, I can imagine enjoying a good Escarole flavored snuff. And how about a Ronald Reagan Tribute vegetable snuff. In keeping with his “Morning in America” spirit, introduce a vegetable snuff whose sole flavoring ingredient is Ketchup. Remember when The Great Communicator argued that schoolchildren who had ketchup with their lunch were getting a serving of vegetables?
Peanuts are really legumes which are peas & beans not nuts, so beans are more like vegatables and there is already a Toque Peanut Butter so there is already a Toque Vegtable snuff so the point is moot. Now you have to decide if you or I am being more silly. Ronald Reagan was a known jelly belly eater. Jelly bellys are jeally beans famous for their odd flavors and recipes for combining flavors. There are plenty of odd Toque flavors and scores of threads on snuffhouse with combo recipes (and even names) for new home made flavors. So that’s two connections to Ronald Reagan. Silly? Yes.
IMO, you couldn’t have a ketchup snuff without first having french fry snuff.
I’ll admit last night starting to wonder why people couldnt make an edible tobacco product… was thinking of cinnamon toast (the food) and the way you just sprinkle a mix of cinnamon and sugar on your toast and voila… and for a half a minute wondered why we can’t have nice edible snuff like that. EDITED to add – really almost could do this with some of the super sweet American snuffs, and now that I have seen about Dentobac (and hopefully soon IPCO) really wondering why a jam or jelly (to be eaten as is or on a piece of bread etc)… to be eaten quite slowly, of course, and really savored before finishing it off… really isn’t possible
Carol, I like all your ideas and especially the french fry snuff got me thinking of a gravy or a poutine snuff. I wouldn’t mind shoving an avocado snuff or a smoked salmon toast up my nose, but it is almost dinner so all the food snuffs everyone has been recommending have been smelling delightful.
A Garlic and Oregano will suit me… or I can try my own.
I would like to see a Naga Jolokia scented snuff, I think it would go over well in india.Naga Jolokia link
snuffegnugen: Uh…I think that might kill you I wouldn’t want to shove a Ghost Pepper up my nose…
My sincere Toque suggestion: Champa Aka, Nag Champa. Why? Well, nag champa smells great, and for Toque, it would very unique. You’d think an Indian snuff company would make this, but I have not seen or found one. I’d also add a very slight enhancing menthol to it. I think on a business side, Toque Champa would really be well received and liked, if it did capture the essence of Nag Champa incense, with a slight menthol enhancement. This is what I’ve wanted for a long time.
Tom, Are you referring to the oil of nag champa itself? or the incense labeled “Nag Champa”, in a red, white and blue box. because the 2 smell drastically different, but both highly pleasant. I think the incense which is a stick of sandalwood with nag champa resin in the mix smells far better. but GREAT idea none the less.
Yes, the incense. There is the Sai Baba Nag Champa, and I have this brand called Hem that makes a champa and it’s very good too.
Wild Thymus ?
Hmmmm… get your Vitamin N and promote T-cell production at one go. (-;
Roderick should make a white chocolate snuff.
I’d like to second Toque Champa. Also, Retsina: “Wine and Pine” has a good English ring to it. I’ve made Toque Ambergris myself and its freaking amazing (but cloying would be an understatement). What we should all do is experiment with adding scents to Toque Natural ourselves and start a club where we share our concoctions. If all of us think a particular scent is commercially viable, I’m sure that would be incentive for Roderick to give it a try. Very few companies would be as lucky as to have clients themselves doing R&D research for them. But we are such a small market that we are lucky in turn to have a company that listens to our desires so closely. We could usher in a new golden age of snuff.
Sassafras. And i agree about the Root Beer snuff! that would be great in my opinion
I’ve been reading through this thread but not sure if I can recall an almond suggestion. Always enjoyed the almond aroma in general I guess I would enjoy an almond snuff too. I’ve seen one almond snuff being sold at snuffstore.co.uk but was out of stock when I was just about to order.
Gawith Hoggarth has an almond snuff. Cstokes says its excellent. I ordered a bunch of GHs from Aireys, I can’t remember if I ordered the almond. Smith’s George IV is pretty almondy. Sassafras might be legit for snuff use, since Tonquin is also banned for food use but is legal for snuff flavoring, since one is not actually consuming the tonquin.
I second retsina. Lovely wine and memories of naughty aunts and summer holidays in Greece…
Spearmint would be good.
Definitely spearmint, my nose would probably melt with pleasure!
Toque’s version of Crumbs Of Comfort would prove interesting. Best of both worlds for me
Banana (mixed with vanilla = milkshake ) / Pineapple snuff. Melons too. (I seem to like yellow fruit)
Aniseed Toast (but mild anise, please)
Perhaps a honey menthol? the whisky and honey is good and so is the menthol…
I’d love a honey menthol, if the menthol was on the light side…more a slight cool than in-your-face.
I would like a mixed berries type of deal. I think that would be nice, maybe a regular and a mentholated version?
Right about now…ANY new Toque flavor would be fine.
Camphor and Eucalyptus would get my vote as well as a Toque Clove. Stefan
@Xander: Aniseed Toast sounds awesome. I also like the Ambergris idea. The best way to make an Almond snuff is to add Bitter Almond to the snuff. At home I have about 100g of snuff ageing with Tonka Bean, Bitter Almond and Ambergris. I added the Almond and Ambergris oil to the snuff, added water to make it the consistency of a good SG Kendal Brown, then snapped a Tonka Bean in half and sealed the jars. It’s been about a week, I think I will check them out tonight.
All I want from Roderick is Spanish Jewel.
How about a schmalser with lots of maple syrup.
@Hachman Toque Schmalzler? I’d buy that…by the ton. Translating Schmalzler to English, we would end up with “Toque Greasey” ?
Funny! Or Fat Toque. Or as African Americans would say "Phat Toque (Phat standing for pretty hot and tempting.
I would defnitely purchase: -Shamrock Shake -Nag Champa -Pachouli -Coconut Cream Pie -Sherry -Dr. Pepper -ginger snaps
@Nachman Dont worry I am “down with the kids”.
Toque Clove gets my vote.
How about a lemonade.
Champa Cool Breeze is my top suggestion, but a clove that is not like Mc C’s, but more like a sweet clove blend like Djarum clove cigs would be nice.
@cstokes: I had a piece of licorice and shortly after had some GH Irish D toast. Some of the licorice was still on my fingers, I guess when I took the pinch of snuff. It was like a eureka moment, since the snuff took on the scent and I’d get a little whif of the licorice every few minutes. I think anise, or maybe fennel, would work better though. I intend to experiment. What snuff are you using for your almond/amber/tonka experiment?
New Toque flavors for me would be: Honey (no menthol, just honey, like swisher honey bee, but better, because it’s from toque) Nag Champa/Sandalwood mix Iced Tea (Just a plain Tea version, for those who like lemon, they can mix with a citrus snuff)
Today a friend of mine had an excellent idea: Olive! If you think about it, it would be a great snuff if it could be replicated naturally
Can you make Spanish Jewel, Roderick? Can you also rival Wilson’s Crumbs Of Comfort?
I know–Toque real Canadian maple syrup flavour! For Toque’s triumphant entry into the starving Canadian nasal snuff market!
How about a good Italian Sausage scent? lol I’d love to get a good seaside scent. or Lilac. Second one is probably easier.
Sausage is just what I want in my nose…
@ bigmick: have you tried Gawith Hoggarth Sea Breezes? Also the reviews of GH Ambassador I just read mention lilac. Toque could do a good lilac, I’m sure. @cstokes: You just wrote a little while ago, that you like cheese & bacon in your nose, so why not sausage? The whole thing coud be simulated with some garlic and oregano, and some other Italian spices.
Chiming in with snuffrider, Honey done with the Toque perspective would be nice. No menthol or bourbon or… just honey.
BBQ! like an american scotch without the pain…lol
@ Xander, no Sea Breezes or Ambassador yet, but they are now on my to order list. Thanks. I tried to scent some of Roderick’s Rustica with lilac from my tree out back, It didn’t catch the scent very well. Just enough to make me crave a well done lilac snuff. @Cstokes, it’s not so much the sausage scent as the scent of a pile of Italian Sausages cooking. Could call it “State Fair” .
I would like to see a toque sandalwood snuff, I really wood
I know there are already a bunch of really good medicated snuffs out there, for instance O&G, Medicated No 99, and such, but even so I’d buy Toque Medicated…I love Toque!
I know Crumbs Of Comfort isn’t really menthol per se, is Toque’s menthol comparable? COC is my “first wake up-splash in the face” morning snuff. The only other menthol I tried was Cherry Menthol. It was very good but didn’t have the same morning blast effect.
:::Matsnuffs says “” I know there are already a bunch of really good medicated snuffs out there, for instance O&G, Medicated No 99, and such, but even so I’d buy Toque Medicated…I love Toque!“” That’s what I’m talking about! Medicate me, Roderick! (lol)
There is Toque Menthol already, and it’s very good.
Indeed, Toque Menthol is a favorite, and Toque Camphor Menthol would be awesome.
Good one rdunnion…a sandalwood toque would be outstanding!
Will lavender do? Toque has one of those. Is that a typo, or is there such a thing as lavendel?
Lavendel seems to be a German word for True Lavender, don’t know if thats different than just lavender or not though
ok. Bring on the lavendel schnupf then.
matsnuffs, has the right idea. Camphor/Menthol. I don’t like most menthol snuff, but the Wilsons SM line is the best of the breed. The camphor tames the menthol just enough for me to really enjoy it. Wish I had bought much more. And with all the other stuff going on that threatens my snuff availability, being able to get something similar from Toque would reduce my stress. I could, almost, then use Toque exclusively.
I have a hunch there will be a Toque Camphor or Camphor Menthol in the next wave of releases. No, I don’t have inside information, just a hunch.
I’m probably going to be alone on this but…Garlic. I would love a garlic snuff.
Mmm…I hope your hunch is accurate, Xander. @shikitohno, I don’t think you’re the first one to suggest that, I thought someone else did, maybe it was leman. And I think…maybe bob…wants a black pepper snuff something fierce.
Yes Seriously Black pepper snuff is amazing. The only type I make and it rocks. You use the oil and it’s got a strange but awesome dry spicy floral thing going on that is really awesome. I promise it will sell and rock if toque or someone makes a black pepper snuff. Hell call it something else if you want just use the oil it’s amazing.
I like the small of that Indian spice called Hing, or asofatida, if I spelled that right, it doesn’t look right.
Asafetida aka devils dung, antiflatulent, used as a garlic, onion substitute by yogi’s on diet restrictions. @Tom502 this will surely help with that nose farting problem you have been having. A lot of these ideas are good and should be tested at home by us instead of at Roderick’s expense don’t you think?
how about a spicy curry ?
I’d like a baked or roasted turtle flavor, as I’ve never smelled a baked or roasted turtle.
How about a flavor called Mandrake Root. Not that I know what the aroma would consist of…
grandmas house scented snuff.
ugh, goatcheeser. Would that consist of old musty musk? (lol)
goatcheeser, the Lavender reminds me of a Grandma’s house.
I just had some popcorn, and took a hit of Toque Toffee off of my popcorn-smelling fingers. It tasted like caramel corn! I must say, it was yummy.
Sticky Toffee Pudding with Hard Sauce
what about spotted dick?
Spanish Jewel is all I want.
Spotted dick sounds…um…contagious maybe?
Honey Dripping from the comb honey. Repeating myself I know…
I’ve said this 8097 times but I’ll say it again Toque Clove. Either that or a snuff with camphor. Stefan
Strawberry?
How about some flavors with the Berwick Brown grind? Maybe also some point a “sort by grind” function on the website?
Toque Nutella (hazelnut + cocoa + skim milk)
Dr. Pepper Ken
Since I love Toque Apricot, and I love Gawith Apricot, how about Toque Apricot/Menthol? It’s done with other fruits.
Staying on the soda kick, I say ROOT BEER! Ken
Another since I so love Toque Champagne, how about Toque Bordeaux? No, not traditional bordeaux, but a red grape/cedar/graphite/black currant kind of thing.
+1 for Black Currant.
How about a nice Chianti with Fava Beans and Census Taker Liver? Ken
Census taker??? I think that would the least gourmet liver of a goverment employee you could find. Would have all the fat and foie grasness that we all love.
Well if it was good enough for a discerning cannibal like Hannibal Lecter… Ken
Red wine/sherry/port (was their a port once?)
That could apply to Wallace and Grommit considering their love for cheese. Ken
It has probably been already said, but Toque Plum would be nice if it’s possible to make it with natural ingredients
Toque Spanish Jewel is all I want.
definatly a sherry or port would be awesome not just a glass but in a snuff too.
I’m repeating myself yet again but a Toque with camphor in it like Zip or Camphor and Mild or O&G. A Toque Camphor and Lemon would be delightful. Stefan
I still say Champa Cool.
peppermint and bergamot. also knowny as creamy peppermint.
I gotta throw my two cents here. Not sure if either would be viable/a good seller, but here goes: 1. Summer Sauna (Deep smokiness of a classic sauna, accompanied by refreshing notes of fresh birch. Finnish Sauna Customs. A pinch of childhood for those busy busy businessmen, a touch of heritage and exotism? Dunno, am salespitchwisely challenged.) 2. Gunpowder. (Maybe it’s just me.) I figured these would fit into the, erm… path less travelled category? Again, no idea if either would even be possible to make, or work that well as a snuff.
I want bags of gunpowder sent to me.
Creme Brulee (Like a vanilla, but also with caramelized sugar flavor) Lotus Flower (not just a floral, lotus flower has a fruity element and a spicy one as well) White Chocolate Passion fruit (Delicious tropical and tangy) Pina Colada Margarita (salt lime and tequila) Mint Mojito Sesame Halvah (If you have never had this it is one of the most delicious foods on the planet), or anything with tahini in it, i love sesame. Pecan Pie, Praline, or Pecan Divinity Marzipan (Almond paste candy) Key Lime Pie (Lime toast is good but a sweet creamy lime would be great) Many savory flavors: Ribs, Pho with beef Cilantro and Basil, Pot Roast, Bloody Mary, Roasted chicken, Clam Chowder, Seared Scallop, Saffron-infused mussels, Thai or Northern Indian Flavors such as cardamom or a curry type snuff. (Yeah they are odd flavors, but ever see the T.W. e-cig flavors now? they are way out there in their premium line.) I just love ethnic street foods and love things that have complex flavors. The cheese and bacon tastes like the Kaukauna bacon cheddar cheese spread which is a very good flavor to me. The whole cheese and bacon thing just opens the door to discussions like this: its something you would think would just be nasty at first glance, but if you are a fan like me, it’s not off-putting at all. Thats why my flavor ideas, while strange, might be able to be created by Mr Roderick the snuff wizard. The problem is the guys got so many flavors already, adding more to the list might be an annoying task, when the current selection is pretty vast. I for one am happy with the toque line in its current state, but if any wacky foodie flavors came out, id buy the hell out of them.
ocean oil
^ Gulf Sludge is a catchier name
garlic salmon liver & onion
I’ll say it again…spearmint, spearmint and spearmint. Camphor as well
And now, I have to revise my flavour suggestions: Toque Whisky & Honey smells 95% LIKE A GODDARNED SMOKE SAUNA!!! I AM OFFICIALLY IN HEAVEN!
Im gonna add pistachio, that would be one tasty snuff. Anyone else think pistachio would be awesome?
Nutella (hazelnut, chocolate), PB&J (peanut butter + fruit + toast?), Cheesy Baked Potato, Sand, White Chocolate, Almond Joy (chocolate, almond, coconut), Mocha, Spearmint, Bergamot, Thanksgiving Dinner (turkey + gravy?), Green Tea, Cannabis, SP Quit (Toque Original + Vitamin N), Caribbean Rum, Jamaican Jerk Steak, Cafe au Lait (coffee + milk/cream), Merlot, Balkan (latakia)
plain old Honey Iced Tea
Plain honey def gets my vote. Or a honey toast! *nomnomnom*
honey does sound promising!!!
Again I’ll repeat myself Clove and a Camphor and Lemon snuff. Stefan
I told my wife if she wanted to try some snuff, they make all flavours. She said “Butterscotch”. I have never seen a butterscotch snuff, but maybe that would be a winner for Rodrick.
@Nachman Samuel Gawith McCombie has some butterscotch in it apparently, but I’ve never tried it.
How about some grape snuff, I’ve never seen grape snuff and grape anything is always good.
try the Champagne
I call that one grape. There is also a dholkia (wow or temptation or blast) concord grape snuff (never tried it)
Since moving inland, I really miss the smell of the ocean. So how about an ocean snuff?
Spanish Jewel
@sprang… I think someone makes a “sea breeze” scent. I’ve never tried so I have no idea if it’s any good. Anyone else thinking about that episode of Seinfeld??
Marzipan would be fantastic as would Turkish Delight. If they had a hint of chocolate added, that would be even better.
@sprangalang & miamimark, that’d be Sea Breezes by GH. I’ve not tried it yet, but I’ve heard good things.
I love Sea Breezes!
Just ordered another 10 Toque flavours, Champagne included. Can’t wait to try it.
So far the gunpowder and new car scents sound pretty adventurous. I would really love something that combines some of the elements of good Japanese incense like Sandalwood and Aloeswood/Agarwood. Maybe I should try grinding up a stick of Tokusen Kobonboku and add it to an HDT snuff. If I survive I can report the results back to you all. Seriously though, I don’t believe the Aloeswood would work out since you need the heat to get the scent and it would be prohibitively expensive. My other suggestion would be Diesel fuel. I can just picture explaining to one of my co-workers that the stuff they just saw me snorting out of a tin is ground up tobacco that is intended to smell like Diesel.
I’ll reiterate mine: Sauerkraut…yes, sauerkraut!
I still say champa cool, and Hing.
^ mentholated nag champa? sounds crazy. is there any champa snuff out there mr. indian snuff man?
Never seen any.
Champa and sandalwood sound good. Or a sandalwood/musk combo, perhaps with just a hint of a floral note.
a really really understated oregano or basil, or a hop snuff using an English variety like Goldings or Fuggles?
heres one for mateo… crotch flavored snuff.
Ok this is a long thread and I’m not takin 2 weeks to search if anyoone else mentioned it but i would suggest a decent cranberry snuff. That ones right up your alley Roderik. Both in regular and menthol. that should be a piece of cake for you mate.
Good one I don’t think anyone said that yet. A cranberry snuff would be awesome. It’s a great smell.
idk if has been mentioned ( i haven’t read all the comments ) and idk if its even possible but here it goes : the beach. a snuff that smells like the beach… like kramers cologne from seinfeld :)…
Super Quit Extra, loaded with so much nicotine it makes even that strongest US scotches look like sissy snuff by comparison. You can even call it Toque Insane for insanely strong.
hehe i agree with n9… its all about the N …
Cod n’ Capers.
I’ll ask yet again for the 900th time lol. A clove and a camphor snuff. Stefan
Since we are doing the ask again. I don’t even have to say it do I? No I don’t.
Black Pepper Bob? lol Stefan
I thought he still wanted Honeybush?
Walrus gets the prize which is me saying yes that is what I meant.
Sushimi and Wasabi
Clove & camphor sounds really good. If it would done be on a stout blend base it would be splendid.
Hing
watermelon
ok here we go again Plain Ol’ Honey Iced Tea Nag Champa/Sandalwood blend
and marshmallow Plain as well as Toasted.
I second the Nag Champa/Sandalwood blend!! That would be amazing, I bet I could get a few friends to switch from smoking with that.
My earlier suggestion was a Champa Cool, a slightly mentholated nag champa.
I was thinking a hay field after a rain shower.
Freshly cut grass. Chocolate chip cookie. Pumpkin. Hot Sauce.
aluminum. seriously. you know that icky tingling metal taste? in larger doses it might be superb. like cheeze and bacon…an awful thought but ending up a great snuff. just sayin
Roderick I don’t even know what a wrong post smells like but I’ll try it.
Spanish Jewel
After trying McC’s Mild Lemon and WoS Lemon Grove, I really must ask for a Toque Lemon and a Toque Menthol/Lemon (something like Fisherman’s Friend Lemon). Only you can truly make lemon justice, sir.
Hot buttered popcorn.
Lemon Menthol does sound great.
Or Lime Menthol. A Mojito flavor (lime + spearmint) would be good, too.
In keeping with Toque’s all natural flavorings I would like to propose these flavors: Honeysuckle Deer Tongue (carphephorus odoratissimus, Vanillaleaf) Teaberry Wintergreen I’d also like to agree with previously mentioned Hot buttered popcorn
deer tongue is great in pipe tobaccos. Especialy ones that bite. Something about the deer tongue reduces tongue bite. Strange but true.
buttered popcorn is starting to sound good to me too.
I would also like to suggest a 100% Natural tobacco line with snuffs that are 100% natural with no flavors inspried by various cigars and pipe tobaccos: Sweet Pennsylvania Maduro Kentucky Burley (dark and or white leaf) Latakia Oriental/Turkish Perique Virginia (lemon, brown, and or red) Criollo Corojo unsweetened cavendish Shade tobacco (Connecticut and or Massachusetts) White Burley Thuoc lao Type 22 Wild Tobacco (Nicotiana rustica, Nicotiana benthamiana, and or Nicotiana gossei)
+1 on those recommendations. I would love to see a line like that from Toque. It seems that it would be fairly simple to do.
I, too, would be interested in the various tobacco-based scents. I can only imagine the fun I’d have blending those!!!
I would be interested in all of outbackblackjacks suggestions and think that they would make great snuffs, and I’m going to take this time to again suggest ‘Super Quit Extra’
I agree with the others about outbackblackjack’s suggestions. Great idea for a line! Also like the sounds of 'Super Quit Extra". Get me some of that.
Better named, “Oh Stop That”.
Perique might be too strong on its own, but a Virginia/Perique blend might work. I made some very nice homemade snuff from Sam G’s St. James Flake, which is a Virginia/Perique blend.
A perique snuff does sound interesting, come to think of it I have pure perique for sprucing up weak blends I think I’m going to try to make some snuff out of it, don’t know why I never thought of it before.
Is it McClelland’s, NIN?
Yep enten-eller thats the stuff, its the only one I could find.
I’ve still got some of that around somewhere too. 50g goes a long way.
What about dirt/earth? I know it is weird but I love earthy smells.
Hows about a (sarsaparilla or sasafras) rootbeer or rootbeer and vanilla snuff to put next to the coke.
I snuff perique all the time now, it’s strong but not too strong. A must try for all snuffers!
I thought I might toss out another flavor suggestion Beef jerky.
What about a Rocky Mountain Pine forrest? WOW that would be nice!!
garlic? would be easy to make AND keep the vampires away. as well as the wife. might just be the perfect flavor.
How about Toque Sandalwood?
.
How about Cinnamon Roll? Cinnamon with a little vanilla & nutmeg, maybe a pinch of a few other spices. It should smell like you’re walking past a Cinnabon store.
I felt some what inspired today and figured I’d thow out a lot of suggestions and see if any of them stick. So here goes nothing: ylang ylang, rosemary, lemon-grass, patchouli, chamomile, fir, black pepper, sage, ginger, juniper, mustard, horseradish, thyme, mesquite, hickory, Hawaiian coffee bean, Jamaican coffee bean, macadamia nut, hops, malted barley, morning tea, coconut, hazelnut, redcurrant, mild chili pepper, cranberry, kiwifruit, cucumber, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, pumpkin pie, pineapple, blackcurrant, elderberry, pomegranate, apple, banana, guava, onion, shallots, rhubarb (strawberry rhubarb pie), English Summer Pudding, spotted dick, sherry trifle, Pimms, Rowan Berry, Christmas Cake, Lemon Meringue Pie, Somerset Cider, Brandy, Irish Whiskey, Scotch.
Outback those all sound good. But I’m not puttin any dick near my nose especally a “spotted dick”.
I googled English deserts is how I came up with spotted dick
sure…
@lofat…yes patchouli would be horrible
Spotted Dick sounds like something you’d need a shot for.
I’d like to repeat my newbie suggestions of an english hops scented Toque (fuggles, goldings?) or a subtle oregano/basil Toque.
dry hopped snuff
Quit Toast
I second a hopped snuff.
souse
chicken
Grand Marnier!
I kinda like the smell of fresh ink on paper when you are writing a note or whatever…
@Micheltn…to answer your question…yes. I also suggested cranberry. And I’d bet the farm Roderik is actually working on it right now.
Root Beer Float
I’d love to try something like an SP snuff with a hint of blackcurrants, it should be quite sour, with a bit of lemon as well.
I have to reiterate my hope for a Lemon or Menthol/Lemon - wouldn’t want Roderick to miss it. =)
sorry to revive this older thread … while trying many flavors in my nascent snuff life it is becoming clear that @Roderick Toque does a masterful job of creating authentic, satisfying scents (have yet to try C&B … nevertheless), I would like to see Coffee Cream or Vanilla Latte from Toque. I love coffee and cream, my most favorite flavors, lightly sweetened and rich … and nothing would go better than a strong snuff with these flavors with my morning brew. WoS Coffee Cream and Irish Coffee lack … and Toque’s own Espresso isn’t really showing itself to me. I am considering mixing Toque’s Espresso and Vanilla with a bit of their Chocolate … but the base coffee flavor isn’t there in Espresso, no matter how big my pile is. So, maybe a Vanilla Latte Toast? I would think a Coffee Cream or Latte would be fairly natural to create - no?
@snuffbrant: While I would welcome a new coffee-based Toque flavor, as I think Roderick is a master blender, may I suggest you try Wow! Coffee Bite by Dholakia? To my nose, at least, it has a very pleasant coffee-and-cream flavor.
Ah … @pipensnusnsnuff! I will place that in my next order! That one did not come up on my search at MrSnuff. Thank you!
I would also suggest Wow! coffee bite. Its like a sweet creamy coffee in the nose
@brandasaur … exactly what i am looking for! it is in the cart, gents … waiting for my next order … thank you both!
New Vinyl, New Car, Cinnamon Roll, Breakfast Buffet, Zach Galifinakis’ beard.
You know whatd be good, dryer and fabric sheets. When I was a kid I remember standing by the laundry building in my complex just smelling the fresh laundry coming out of the vent
Kimchi-double fermented.
Now you’re being silly.
I’d like a LILAC flavored snuff. You guys would be the first to make it!
Allright Alex, perhaps not kimchi. How about this: certain rare balsams and balms exist, highly prized from ancient times, with extraordinarily ‘active’ scents (‘Balm of Gilead’, whatever that may be). I don’t know much about them, however. I seem to recall that good quality pure turpentine of the right sort has a wonderful fragrance. I know that you are very interested in fragrances , aromatherapy and so on. I wonder if you have considered these resins. imho the very best snuff experience is when the tobacco itself is revealed, the King of Herbs. (As a convert to snuff I now accept that tobacco can’t be burnt without some level of comparative acridity which makes for a courser experience.) Perhaps there’s room for some sort of balsam or balm snuff, some hint of one of these amazing fragrant resins to enhance the classic tobacco effects. At the risk of being flippant again…could you combine fresh morning air, fresh baked bread and freshly roasted coffee to produce ‘Perfect Morning’ snuff?
If you can make cheese & bacon… why not steak & taters!
NB: I note that turpentine is to some extent toxic - lovely smell though.
@Pikemopers I had some WoS Cinnamon and really enjoyed it. I mixed it quite a bit too. It goes well with Jaap’s Choco snuff. On the line of toxic, I would enjoy a high nic, spent Gunpowder scent (call it "Shell-Shocked) or model airplane fuel scent
toque vanilla latte try toque vanilla with toque espresso. for cream try toffee and espresso with a tiny amount of choclate.
@bob … i agree, thoughts of mixing all you have mentioned crossed my mind … problem is, no matter how big the piles, i cannot get a coffee or espresso flavor out of Toque’s espresso. i actually try to mix em every AM, but still no coffee flavor permeates …
oddly I found a tiny bit of cholcate in the espresso brings out the coffee scent more. Very important that it’s a tiny amount. maybe 1 to 10 or even smaller.
@bob - thank you. giving it a whirl …
hope it suits your nose well.
Roderick - I can say, and maybe it is my particular tin - I am not picking up espresso. I am going to go and sniff some right now … see if I can’t will it to happen.
Just sniffed two piles per nostril … Just chalk it up to my junior league sniffer for now. Got a serious nic-kick, though
@Roderick I am a heavy coffee drinker and a big fan of dark, Italian style espresso. While I do enjoy your Espresso snuff, it holds almost no semblance of coffee to me. I enjoy it as a relatively plain snuff. I would love to have a snuff that smells like when you first break the seal on a tin of Italian espresso beans.
Ah double post, well that was interesting my later post went away so anyway my comment was I agree on the espresso not having a strong coffee flavor, even though I like it a lot. I also think Toque should do a grind that’s easier to use and moister.
Roderick love the espresso but the scent is not very strong. Which is one of the things I like about it. It’s more of a hint and it reminds me less of coffee and more of the scent of freshly used grounds. I think it’s perfect that way. Actualy it does remind me of haveing coffee while smoking cigars where both tastes are strong enough they slightly cancel out the other making both more mellow, I like it that way if the coffee was stronger the tobacco scent wouldn’t be there and that would be sad.
@Roderick I am a heavy coffee drinker, I like no flavors additions, coffee flavored water is as far as I go. No milk, cream, sugar, honey, nothing. I get a light coffee scent from Espresso, but I also get a pungent burnt scent. Sorta like coffee that has been on the burner for about 12 hours too long. Up the coffee scent and tone down the burnt scent and I’d like it a lot better. ( I still buy it as is.)
