I admit that my most recent order has been steered somewhat by the various posts- some about particular scents and other peripheral, such as the one about which snuff for a wedding- which bolster my desire to stock up on some Toque SP Extra. Because the in store snuff is somewhat limited, mind you not a complaint but I have but three I can buy in person and while they are fine daily snuffs I wanted to expand my pallet and personal supply- thus the need to order it in. Best advice is to try without hesitation and if by chance you don’t really take to a particular snuff, put it in an airtight container and revisit it later. I did this with a plain (unscented) snuff and found it flat. I didn’t think I would care for it but alas I not only find a plain snuff enjoyable now, it also helps me in blending of scented types. Do read through the thousands of posts that touch on personal inflections, experiences and insight. All of which have helped my in my fairly recent return to the joys of snuff. Understand though that just as with anything else in the world- be it cars, wine, music or whatever else- some choices and standings are highly personal. What I like may be the polar opposite of what you care for. Neither of us is “right” or “wrong” but we can learn a lot from one another.

Hi yes I have been in there a few times over they years. Oh i did not realise Mr Snuff was based in N.Ireland, I might send an order in based on that as i thought the postage would be rather hi otherwise. I am based there with work a few times a week and only live 20mins out in the sticks. I know that there are a lot of snuffers based in Leeds, Yorkshire in general. We shall have to have a Yorkshire meet as has been mentioned once or twice before.
re: Timidity and the cops… I had an airport security guard confiscate a snuff box at the airport and start to walk away with it… In a LOUD voice, I demanded that he return my property or I would get a cop and have him arrested for petty larceny! Guess I’d grown out of my timidity a bit by then.
I wish I’d discovered snuff at 19! Well done! And good on you for discovering snuffhouse, too. Yes, when you’ve just started using snuff and if you don’t know anyone else who does it, too, you can fall into the trap of thinking that you’re doing something weird and eccentric. Not that snuffhouse doesn’t have it’s fair share of eccentrics, at the very least, but at least you’ll find that there are other people out there who will happily support you and share their knowledge. And it’s good to know that you aren’t alone. I’m sure I wouldn’t have tried even a small proportion of the snuffs I’ve tried unless I’d read people’s reviews and ideas. It’s a good community and a good forum.

Some people have got the character to make that approach work. Personally, dealing with police in general, I find it best to recognize that they often have the power to make your life difficult, but that they won’t do it unless you give them a reason to. In that situation, I’d start off by saying that I realize that snuff is unusual, but it’s a perfectly legal form of tobacco. If they doubted it, I’d offer to show them, say, the Toque website on my smartphone. If they still wanted to confiscate my goods, I’d ask them if they could provide me with a receipt or document so that I could follow it up. Most policemen are just like anyone else, they want an easy life, so make it easy for them to do the right thing.
I snuff pretty openly but I didn’t used to. Personally I find most European snuffs very messy, they usually get on my face to some extent and I need to blow my nose sometimes two, three times. But then I started using Indian white snuffs, sort of like an Indian version of the toast but much finer and drier, and they’re so clean and it doesn’t take much of a “show” to sniff them, it’s a quick process. I did get an email from one of my bosses at work asking me to clean up my work station for next shift because there was dust left behind me lol.

I used to see this old chap came to a club I was in and he was a long time snuffer, the doorman used to brush him down the front of his tie, waist coat and jacket with a bristle cloths brush, as his eyes where not so good. For a while he pulled my leg that it was a specific snuff brush, wind up of course…not saying I googled it or anything 
Always try something new and revist the snuffs that you did not initially care for because sometime down the road your preferences could never well change.
Tips for new commer , If pinching avoid fingers in your eye, carry a dark color snot rag , avoid snuffing facing the wind, gather baby food jars from all your friends with babies they make great storage jars, buy more snuff than you need and keep some in your car, so you don’t leave home without. When carrying a snuff box only fill for three days of use. And when buying a snuff box don’t buy a pill box. I recommend the Snuffhouse.org snuff box.
One more tip to add to the basement_shaman’s advice - If you are on a date use a menthol…as you breath out the aroma goes out with it. Sometimes the missus says I stink, which is usually after London Brown or some other heavy plain (one of my favourites), but when I use a menthol she even compliments me on how great I smell… :x
Glad to hear someone else had discovered this wonderful form of tobacco. Although its not my main nicotine source, I enjoy it very much. BTW go ahead and try all your budget allows. I had hopes of finding one I loved and wanted to stick to it exclusively. Never happened. 
I used to try and snuff discreetly when I was a beginner, I just find that if you open your snuffbox with purpose, take a pinch with a flourish,
@hoopei Honestly I’m blown away by the great knowledge and advice on these forums but this should be on a t-shirt, there’s something metaphorical about that phrase as well. I’ll be repeating this to myself for some time to come. Who needs the Dali lama when you can open your snuffbox with purpose and take a pinch with a flourish :0) superb advice. I do find I am some times a little paranoid about people when I do snuff but, the paranoia is some what cause I have been accused of being a drug dealer in one of the places I live cause I had a job. I got home at 10 pm at those times apparently that is real late and, I must be selling drugs.
