my biggest problem with the ‘additive free’ tobaccos is that if it hasnt alread dried out before you get it, it will have dried out before you finish it. unless you smoke a pouch a day.
yes cigarettes aren’t tobacco they’re a tobacco product
I’m not trying to be contrary here; but surely any tobacco that’s sold is a product, snuff included. Annoyingly I do still enjoy a cigarette (hence not quitting), this thing that gets me is that I smoke so many that I don’t enjoy. If I could take smoking out of the everyday then I think things would be different. Strangely I’m not concerned about the habitual snuff business in the slightest; just don’t see it in the same way.
nope. Snuff is still tobacco sure it’s been ground and had things added to it but it is the leaf. Cigarettes are mostly paper that is made from industrial chemicals and component parts of the tobacco leaf reassembled. That is the difference. Cigarettes don’t even have real tobacco flavor that is created through chemistry. So no cigarettes are not tobacco but a tobacco product. So at least you can see why I make this distinction.
I just keep snuffing and vaping as much as possible and that seems to have kept me completely off smoking and for that I am surely grateful but I think snuff is my favourite. I think my mood is more relaxed now also. Somehow I sort of miss smoking but at the same time have no longer any desire to smoke even a single puff. I really don’t quite get that as yet and may never understand it but I expect it will fade as it seems to do day by day and I’m completely off smoking about 6 months now but I don’t even keep count of the time. I do sometimes greatly regret that I did smoke for so long (30 years) as I do wonder why I was so seemingly suicidal. I think we have all come to realise that it’s really nicotine that is our craving (savior?) and in tobacco form it is best but that smoking is not a good delivery method. I think my snuff enjoyment is getting better as time goes on especially with having a good supply of the Artisan Snuffs but I’m also seemingly getting better at picking snuff I like and know my definite repeat order snuffs. I also love having so many now to choose from and so over the day I’ve got constant options like oh I feel like this one for a while or that one and then this other one… I’m really getting to like that and never had that with smoking so much. Also applies to vaping so I’ve got double the chioce of choices if you know what I’m trying to say and being that snuff and juices are low taxed will help the choices to continue to grow and grow as I’m sure to find more great discoveries. Definitely more of a hobby enjoyment compared to the shackle of smoking.

Totally! Me also, I’ve really noticed it recently. I am a lot more mellow, sleeping much better, and, rather oddly, have less desire to drink alcohol. I like a beer or two or a glass or two of wine most evenings and of late I’ve found it getting to nearly bed time and I suddenly realise I haven’t poured a glass of wine or cracked a beer. This is a rather pleasant side effect. I always felt that smoking and drinking go very well together so perhaps the one habit feeds the other?

Glad you’ve quit the Buckfast/Special Brew. I was joking of course but sometimes admitedly it is difficult to tell from what I write. I think there is definitely a strong connection with smoking and drinking. Each possibly kills the horrible taste of the other. Even I would admit they were great together if moderation were possible. I still occasionally enjoy a beer or whatever with a vape and snuff. Took me some adjustment but now it’s all good. I was at the Giro last week and walking down the pit lane with all the team buses etc and I got a wiff of a cigarette from what must have been about a 100 yards away and was carried along by the wind and I was actually vaping at the time and I have to say those tobacco molecules on the wind went straight to somewhere deep in my brain and the scent was wonderful. so a little disconcerting. Made me think for a second that the vaping was rubbish but I quickly got over it. Actually I no longer like second hand smoke when standing beside people smoking and find myself moving out of the way. It seems to irritate my chest but that was a strange experience getting that wiff from so far away and it causing that strange reaction the one sort of similar to when you walk past a coffee shop and the fresh coffee smell is drifting out only this being a tobacco version and even stronger.
I’ve gone back to cigarettes a few times since I started snuffing and also began pipe smoking. Cigarettes are just horrible to me now probably because of the pipe smoking, I find the cigarettes are such lower quality and have no good taste when compared to pipe tobacco. Yesterday I bought a personal vaping system to try with blueberry liquid and mid-range nicotine level and I must say it is very good! I think the vaping should keep me from the cigarettes and I will stick to it and snuffing with maybe an occasional pipe.

You have something there. It does stir something deep within and I think it probably always will.
