No, it is something slightly different, although it is indeed a finer grind. Wilsons has a lot of SPs. They have one simply called “SP Snuff” but which we commonly call “SP Silver” becuause it has a silver label. That one is the one that is Best SP but ground fine. I think My Smoking Shop is the only online retailer to carry it. SP 100 has fans and is a good solid SP snuff. Its not as pungent as Best SP. Did you read the reviews? If you like SPs there are lots to try. Most English companies have a few, and Wilsons has the most variations. All are pretty good. Edit: You can also get that SP Silver from Wilsons direct, but you have to buy a case of 12 25gram tins.
Very interesting…as I’ve said, I like pungent snuffs and I tend to lean towards a medium-to-coarse grind rather than the superfine stuff, so maybe SP100 isn’t for me. I might pick up a taster tin sometime though just for the experience. I haven’t read the reviews on SP100 yet, I will check them out asap though.
I like SP100, in fact I have it in bulk, to me it just seems a bit sharper than Best SP. Stefan
There are a lot of great suggestions here, so I’ll simply wish you many happy discoveries as you explore the dozens of fine snuffs available. There always seem to be new entries cropping up on my “must try” list.
@stefan, I’ll pick up a taster tin I think-it’s sitting in the shop less than half a mile away for £1, it’d be rude not to! @pipesnusnsnuff, thanks for the kind words, I’m really looking forward to each of those discoveries!
