Size of a quarter, thickness of a dime? A metal washer should do it. They come in enough different sizes to find the right one for the job.
Ahh you’re right this is senseless, just open the tin the way that works best for you, coins can be helpful.
I meant my post and not the entire discussion, but it may just be one of those “if you’re not into this subject you’re probably nodding off by now” things. But hey who cares, there’s practical stuff throughout right?
did you want to get back to your subject?(how’s that for a segueway? [sp?])
‘‘SG Christmas 2011 is an SP style moist snuff with a fine ground texture, with a combination of Blackberry, Brandy and Vanilla flavours’’ Or so they say in Mysmokingshops website. I definetly smell brandy and little bit leathery smell too, but there is also something that reminds me of christmas…
This gives me a totally different nose burn than other snuffs does.
Open it anyway you like, aside from cutting open the top(i’ve read some stories, some peoples kids i tell ya). Question, do the seals ever relese themselves, i mean w/age, does the seal open? I know i have bought ancient tins of pipe tobacco, and they were still good, but they were probably in a controlled enviroment.
Never hear of a vacuum snuff tin pop by it’s self. Did you know you can tell if a vacuum tin has been opened, and lost the vacuum. You hold the bace in one hand and tap the lid with a finger nail of the other hand. an unopened one has has a higher pitched ping.
snuffhead, cool technique! Does the Radford 25g tin usually come vaccuum sealed? It wasn’t when I got it. I’ve had a tin of Dunhill London Blend arrive with the vac. seal allready violated. I suspect If a tin gets hit at just the right angle with enough force (ie while being shipped or shelved) it can happen.
Radford 25g is nasty, it has an airtight seal but not vacuum sealed. It instructs you on the tin to use a coin, however it is really unnecessary.
Good to know, I wasn’t certain my tin was unmolested… As for the contents, it’s ok for a menthol hound…
