Poschls

In fact all german snuffs seem to disagree with me. Except for the Bernards for some reason oh and lotzbeck. Which is sad because I love the scents of the snuffs I’ve tried. The sternecker snuffs I’ve tried are one of my favorite scents but mess up my nose something fierce.

@prismaster nice to meet you ! Ah also good to see a fellow fan, their is Somthing poschl have that no other snuff does and what it is I don’t know but I love it ! Everyday !!! Many times a day

They mess my nose up too, too cloggy. I’ve tried a couple, but never found one I liked. It seems to be all bark and no bite; by that I mean that the ones I have tried seemed to have strong flavors and thick cloying texture, but not much in the way of detectable nicotine. Now, I’m not some crazy nicotine fiend, but I do take snuff because it contains nicotine, otherwise there would be no point. Poschl snuffs seem to have too much ‘window dressing’ in the form of flavoring and texturizing ingredients, but at the expense of tobacco flavor and nicotine. Now this is coming from a guy who prefers snuff to have a pedominantly tobacco flavor rather than fruit, menthol, flowers etc, so don’t take it too seriously. I wonder if the low nicotine hit has something to do with the oil? Maybe the oil somehow interferes with the passage of the nicotine through the mucous membranes?

I agree with you @doctorbeat, Poschl and Bernard seem pretty low in nicotine. But I doubt the oil prevents the nicotine absorption since nicotine is both liposoluble and hydrosoluble (so that nicotine is present in the oily coating and would still be in direct contact with the nose). My guess is it’s the variety of tobacco they use, or maybe the fermentation process that degrades some nicotine?

@joe hey there, nice to meet you too. some more Pöschl fans isnt a bad thing, since we are somehow under-represented in here. i guess this is why in here are not that much germans and i am nearly sure the main market for Pöschl is still Germany. but i am not sure about that and anyway their Schmalzer got some following. ever tried them, joe ?? @doctorbeat many snuffers say that, that its cloggy and all. i just say, diffrent noses - diffrent conditions - diffrent likes and dislikes @KebAMP about that i dont know but since i use a WIDE variety of snuff - it´s one of the things i like the most about snuffing - i can easily switch over to higher nic snuff, as so i can live with the lower nicotine in most Pöschl creations.

@Prismaster I love Poschl Dopplearoma, Sudfrucht and Perlesreuter and a lot of Bernard too. I like their deep, penetrating and long-lasting aromas. I keep them always available for when I need to set back and relax, or before I go take a walk in the neighborhood.

Gawith Apricot EVERY day and I love it. Thats why I use it every day!

Gawith apricot is fantastic ! Those that say its low on nicotine well simple take more of it lol Or massive punches !!! @prismaster no not tried a schmalzer ? I have heard a lot about them but sadly never found were to get them ? ! Sure I agree Germany is the main market but maybe due to the fact not many snuffers here admit to using it as a lot view it as inferior snuff , I however view it as top notch !

I got my first schmalzer in this weekend and i absolutely adore it. Fruity, chocolatey, and so, so easy to take. I can shovel loads of thing in my nose without even having to pay attention. The only problem is the fool-like scent gives me some mad afternoon munchies.

President Ozona, love it, use it almost every day. I would like to try some Apricot though…

Lol @dogwalla um were did you order from and which one mate ?

Ozona is v nice that’s the shiny mirror tube isn’t it ? Anasied flavour ish If I remember rightly ?

I got the Sudfrucht from Mr. Snuff. I mostly got the bundle for the box, but I really like the snuff.

Ah mr snuff ok thanks @dogwalla

I put off ordering any Pöschl snuffs for a long time, mostly because the price per gram is higher than most of their competitors. However, if I find one I really like, I’ll reorder regardless of price. I’ve got a couple varieties – Red Bull and Gawith Apricot – on order. They should be arriving this week, I hope.

Apricot is soooo nice lol it’s just one of those snuffs that ticks all the boxes for me ! I don’t find Red bull that strong myself ?

For me in germany the price per gram is not higher than most of their competitors… good snuff, but not in my small top favourites list.

For me, it’s not that I really dislike Pöschl snuffs, it’s just that there are a ton of snuffs out there that I like much better. The only Pöschl snuffs I really like these days are their schmalzlers, which I must admit are excellent based on what I’ve tried. I might buy more Apricot and Lowenprise, but once my Redbull and FC Bayern are finished off, I think I’ll be content to go without them for a while.

in the end, it all depends on personal taste. as snuff-takes we are somehow lucky, that we can change from such a wide varity of products from all over the world. i am sure, that there is no end in the near future and i hope to see many new creations from Pöschl but of course from other manufactures too. that would be great. maybe more and more people will find the pleasure of snuffing and the market will expand itself, until that time, we are all fine with the good snuffs we got, however who made them. isn´t that the most important point for us - Pöschl or not.

A point of interest, maybe. I am trying to get my hands on a Poschl snuff which is, apparently, only sold in Switzerland. I have a Swiss friend getting a hold of some for me. Unfortunately it will have to be bought from a tobacco store so no breaks on price. But still it is always good to have those that are tough to get. Poschl Anis. Dave
