I don’t, they had it coming.
Case Doctor’s
+1 on that…
Despite living in what some call the land of the blade, Japan is very strict about carrying knives. Very strict; so much so I forgot to pack a few for my trip back to the states- an act that surprised my wife so much that she lovingly insisted we stop immediately and I acquire something to tide me over. I ended up with a 3 inch lock blade from Buffalo River- a company I never heard of. Not a bad blade and it found use for all manner of tasks until I tucked into my checked luggage for the trip home.
Just got hold of the Sebenza 21, small version. It’s amazing…
I’ve been without a pocket knife for too long so today I got myself a Victorinox Swiss Army Evogrip 18. I like the rubber inlays on the handles, as I recall from my last SA I had years ago it could get slippery when wet. I think I’ll get a lot of use out of this one.
Nice. I don’t know so much about the usefulness of the saw, but the rest of it looks like the ideal compromise between utility and size. Maybe you have use for the saw, if not perhaps you can grind it down and convert it into a snuff spoon
Sebenza 21 Large version. My second one. Sold my first to a active duty SF friend for a song to get a good folding knife in his hands and really missed it- so I ordered a new one. They are rock solid and made with a very good steel.
Sebenza 21 is quite a fine looking knife; if I didn’t have my knockabout Kershaw and a folder Helle I’d be tempted to get one of the ones with a ladder Damascus blade.
I have a super nice Mick Strider Custom built locking blade that stays in my pocket, its my edc blade that I never leave home without.
My preference is for an Opinel #6 with a slightly modified handle for comfort.
a Victorinox Rostfrei Officer Suisse and for the pipes a Laguiole with the briar wood handle
Buck 110 Hunter - sharpened and stropped to a mirror polished, hair whittling edge. It’s a little heavy, but I don’t mind.
Stopped carrying my Kershaw because it kept eating my leather steering wheel. I really miss it. It took a long time to get used to being without it. #whitecollarproblems
In my coat I keep a crappy little folding knife that is occasionally used as a snuff spoon, or sometimes a steak knife but mostly does nothing. When I hear people say they “carry” though, generally no one is talking about a knife. Of course i don’t know anyone that would use their carry as a snuff spoon though
My snuff knife is a Case Mini Doc and the spatula is a perfect snuff spoon.
Great looking knives @Jernej. At the top is that an Axis lock on the CS Recon1? My favorite modern knives are Spydercos, lately I’ve been carrying my Yojimbo, Cruwear Military, and Manix2 S110V. Though my work edc is a new style Vic Soldier, I’m rarely without that blade.
It’s just a small part of my ever-growing collection. Yes. It’s an old school Recon 1, before they introduced the Tri-Ad lock. I like the older Recons much better.
786 I have a Kirshaw without which I feel absolutely naked. @SHbickel, I reckon I’m not getting a proper picture in my mind’s eye. Where were you carrying yours that it was even in the vicinity of your steering wheel?
@slobandtom I carry in the right pocket. My right hip bumps against the wheel and the clip scrapes along the leather as I drag my broken ass in and out of my car. I tried moving to the left pocket and it was doing the same to my seat. *sniff
