Yeap thanks, doing better today. edm
I really feel for you. I found an old cat on a rubbish dump, apparently he had lived there for years. Took him home and had his various medical issues dealt with by a fantastic vet. He had three years of luxurious living with us and passed away in our arms. It was very, very hard but four years later we have 3 cats, all rescued. The old guy really showed us how beautiful cats are. The cat lovers are all with you.
Socks looks just like my piebald cat, killed on the road. Small consolation, but many here know how you feel. Cats have their own unique personalities, and to their owners the world seems impoverished when they die. Perhaps the worst aspect of animal bereavement is that normal working life is expected to carry on regardless. After a weekend of searching and finally finding my beloved cat, dumped in a black bin-bag by the roadside, I had to quickly bury him before catching a long haul flight from London. No one could possibly have guessed how devastated I felt, and only the death of my first wife was worse. Never had a pet since. Never will again.
On a lighter note, the theolegy of dogs and Cats You feed the dog and he thinks " You feed me, so you are god" You feed the cat and he thinks “You feed me , so I am god” edm
I go by the old adage ‘dogs have owners, cats have staff’. Sums them up purrfectly.
Dogs think very highly of you. THey think you are part of their pack. @edm I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I know the feeling. I STILL look for my cat that passed when I wake up…
My condolences, it is hard…
And:- “Dogs come when they are called, cats take a message and get back to you.”
I’ve had several cats that would come when called. Unlike dogs it only works for certain people. My one cat “Mister”(his nickname) would only follow my brother. My parents other cat schiezicks (spell it however you want to) was like that for me. Bobo (didn’t name him) well I think he thought he was a dog and pretty much was like the best of cat and dog.
My heartfelt condolences, mustangii. I know how you must be feeling, I lost my cat, Kitty (18 years together from when she was 3 weeks old) a year ago this coming Saturday. I’m still not ready to even think about having another cat. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
From a conversation with a colleague from about 2 years ago that sums up the dog-cat dichotomy succinctly: Me: “Dogs are yes-men, that’s why I like cats.” Colleague: “That’s why I like dogs.”
Well it’s been a week, and was feeling pretty good, still miss him meeting me at the door when I get home from work. Been hot here in Missouri. so dinner was a bowl of frosted flakes. lol. socks used to wait till I was done, then beg to lick the bowl, lol. edm
My heart goes out to you. I am a die-hard animal lover. Not really a cat person, but I did rescue one some years ago. He stayed with my parents when I went off to college. He was a sweet boy and had a good life, but he got old
