I think your missing the point @Xander. Mint snuffs cannot be non-mentholated as mint is naturally mentholated. You are talking about mint snuffs that are extra mentholated as opposed to those that are inherently mentholated.
I think the ones I prefer personally are the medicated menthol/eucalyptus/camphor types. But as you fine folks all know…there is really nothing bad about ANY SNUFF. Well I should add as a post note. only the ones i try making can be pretty crappy. But I whiff em anyway. By the way, unless it is the coffee, or the lemon zest types. I will leave the snuff making to those who know what they are doing. Snuff is so reasonable a habit, why snuff up inferior snuff. ENJOY IT…life is too short to scrimp on something so lovely.
Well greybeard19, if those are the combos you like, I can recommend Samuel Gawith Zip. I would say that it is far from being the strongest though (it won’t put you on your knees with tears streaming down your face), Wilsons Super Menthol does that.
I’ve quite enjoyed this post. Not being a great fan of menthol I tend to shy away. Interestingly I have noted peoples comments, all over the snuff forums, that they too are shying away from menthol. Having said that, we have been asked for a strong medicated snuff. I have started work on this and plan a launch date early in the New Year. Another rarity not often mentioned is ‘Snus Ice’ still available from Snuffstore.co.uk, this is Peppermint (Mentha piperita) with extra menthol.

well, as known menthol lover i guess i have to drop in a few suggestions by myself. taking the ones already mentoined above aside (all good snuff anyway) i would like to point you to these ones: Maverick and Babathon Green are both made to enlight the menthol lover you likes his tobacco base more earthly and raw. definitly both worth to try, even if you have to catch fresher tins. did you ever had some McCraig Royal or Andechser ?? both from Pöschl, both mentholated in combination with herbs, camphor among others. in SA there is Verter´s Camphor (same league like Maverick and BG). one i really love for the combination is Pöschl´s Bayern-Prise, it is made from mixing mentholated snuff a la Gletscherprise with Schmalzer. Ahhh, hope you already know the good´ol Gletscherprise ?? well, this ones are not among the strongest but definitly give menthol delights in their own ways and are far too often forgotten and not mentoined at all. enjoy!
