Besides Toque, Wilson’s and McChrystal’s, any other recommendations on very high menthol snuffs? Don’t tell Roderick this, but I’ve been branching out recently and every “menthol” snuff I’ve tried from other brands have been a complete let down. Recently tried F.U.B.A.R Medic, Gawith Hoggarth’s CM and a couple others I’ve already forgotten, none of them had even the slightest hint of menthol to my nose. Basically looking for something that could knock down a horse just by opening a tin.
Poschl Red Bull is heavily mentholated with a hint of eucalyptus. I only use it when I get a cold.

Hedges L260 ‘The Snuff’ is pretty stout. Also, WoS SM500 and Dynamite might be up your alley. I use the SM500 to add menthol to other things sometimes, it’s potent.

I have some L260 on order and look forward to it. In the meantime I really enjoy McCrystal’s O&G
hedges L260 spose to be a good strong one, i havent tried it yet… how about sam gawith extra menthol… ?
I don’t know if I can actually recommend it… but WoS SM500 is insane.

I am really sad that the FUBAR Medi didnt give me any menthol. SM500 was the first snuff I actually loved, next order i will try the Hedges
@Cros Wow, that’s crazy! My tin of SM500 is fear-inducing. My schnoz does not find it agreeable. It feels something akin to rubbing hot sauce on my face. And I thought I was a menthol fan. =)
I have yet to find a menthol that was too strong, my goal is to find it!
I’ve never had the WoS SM500, but someone above mentioned WoS Dynamite, and IMO that’s heavier than L260. …even though you said besides Wilson’s, there’s my 2 cents. Dynamite is a bit much for me.
786 I love L260, McChrystal’s, the various Prisen (Gletcher-, Polar-, and Arctic-), and JIP and can snuff them all without fear; but Samuel Gawith’s English Menthol beat me senseless. I admitted defeat and gave it to a friend. It was like my whole nose being encased in ice; I enjoy a good menthol snuff but this was just insane.
It was also six years or so ago fwiw, so maybe it wasn’t as brutal as I recall.
Yah, WoS SM500 burns deep! I mix with SM #1 High Mill. McChrystal’s OG is so awesome, but won’t blow your socks off if that’s what you’re looking for.

Got the Hedges yesterday, nice and potent, but like the over-all taste of Toque better, have some menthol chrystals that I use with my own snuff making, and going to try basement_shaman suggestion…just kidding, even i am not that hard core!

also just tried the Snuff Store strong menthol, a lot like McChrystals but instantly blocked me back up, too much rebound effect
Radford snuff. Now made by poschl. That and hedges are the strongest I’ve tried.

Ive shied away from German snuff, no real reason, just that the ones ive tried have been less than spectacular. For some reason I trust you guys or at least I am willing to prove you all have bad taste and i will give most of the recommendations a fair shot
@Cros I don’t know if it’s to be believed, but the write-up on Mr Snuff says that Magnet Menthol is:
“Probably rightly, it is considered the strongest menthol snuff”
I’ve tried nearly all the highly touted menthol looking for that guaranteed wake-me-up/head clearer and haven’t found anything that does the job like Hedges. One that I used for a while prior was Wilsons Super Menthol, and it still does the trick. Because everyone’s nose is different, Radford, Red Bull, McCraig, Lowenprise and such will get the job done for some, but when I want a menthol it’s because I’ve got a head cold, so I want a strong one, 6 Photo Medicated No. 66 being the minimum I require. Did that sound snuff snobbish? Hope not.
