Johnny Snuff

By hook and by crook I have managed to procure a small amount of Johnny snuff. I am told this is only sold in Austria (can anybody confirm?). It is way overpriced, my apologies, but I had to have a friend buy it retail from an Austrian tobacco store and send it over to me. We also picked up some Chena while we were at it. I am not sure how good or bad it is, but at least you now have a chance to add it to your collection. I was under the impression it was no longer in production and had not been made for several years, but apparently it is popular enough in Austria to warrant keeping the brand alive. All the best, Dave ps: it is here: http://mrsnuff.com/store/poschl-c-110\_114.html

I can’t confirm, but I heard the same thing regarding Austria. Is it the same as Gawith Apricot?

So the Chena is loose snus (dip), and Johnny is a similar mix of Gawith Apricot?

Chena looks a lot like makhla packaging. Wonder if it’s similar.

Cool that you have this Dave. You are the only online retailer that I can recall ever getting it.

is this Chena produced by Pöschel ? strange, never heard of it before. it is like Makla (which is horrible imho) ??

Chema is a makla. I’ve tried both flavors. They’re interesting, and have a strong kick. The coffee one was a bit too sweet for me, and the mint one burned like the dickens, but neither were bad. @Prismaster its not surprising that you have not heard of them, as I think they are not marketed to Germany. It may only be in France and Belgium, to compete with the Sifaco maklas. Well, must add Johnny Apricot to my shopping cart. Someday, I’ll be able to afford what’s in there.

@Xander i have the red and the green ones from Makla and to be honest, i find them both disgusting

I agree that Makla is not everyone’s cup of tea, but they definitely have a mighty nicotine kick. I found myself irresistibly drawn back to it, despite my distaste at the mud in mouth effect. The secret is to have a prismaster to hand and compact it really tight. then dump it before it has a chance to turn into mud in your mouth. It ranks up there in my list of must haves if you are a seeker of strong nicotine products. It really is unique, interesting, and has a definite draw if you are a nicotine junky. If you are not, don’t waste your time.
